Colson has really struggled the second half of the year. He's going to break the strikeout record. His defense isn't as good as it was early on. What do you think his future is?

I think it's a given that Roch replaced him at SS. Roch is already gold glove caliber. Just depends how long it takes for his offense to bring him up here. Colson os definitely better than Vargas at 3rd, but I don't think you move Vargas just yet. Colson's bat doesn't warrant it.

What do you think his future is? I assume they keep him at SS until Roch forces the issue.

Trade him in the offseason.

I think I’m serious when I write this but do you consider sitting him right now and playing Meidroth at short, Sam at second and Grichuk in left? Definitely better offensively. Probably a significant downgrade on D. Montgomery is virtually unplayable at the moment. Now go hit two dingers tomorrow and prove me wrong.

Colson’s parents obviously didn’t do it enough so @ron883 is just going to have to step in and show him who is daddy.

But in the real world there are GMs who see the same things we do. Some are probably not as kneejerk as those dealing with trade frenzy. Lets not forget who would be doing the trading. That's still a frightening thought unless you were in a coma the last trade deadline,

A GM can get lucky, which happened to Getz but not a baseball mastermind. Some fans were brought back down to earth.

I often wonder how many Sox fans enjoy watching the trades always playing better elsewhere? We seem to track them more than the players in the farm system.

Colson's just not MLB material. He peaked at AA. He has just one big looping swing and it's beautiful when pitchers occasionally screw up and he's lost when they don't. Pitchers just eating him up. When was the last time, if ever, he purposely lined a hit to LF. He can't.

Outside of a few hitters, this was not the year to track the farm system for joy.
