White Sox @ Twins; Martin vs Woods-Richardson 6:40 pm CST
The enforcement of the balk on the infraction Davis had is really inconsistent - much like all umpiring, I guess. I’ve noticed guys are always double pumping their front foot, and I figured I didn’t remember what a balk was. Stone said you can get away with it if you do it all the time. Davis did it on the next pitch after the balk.😔

The Sox have angered Thor
We used to call it “just the tip.”

White Sox @ Twins 1:10 PM
In case anyone missed Eloy, Chase did a fair imitation of him running to first.

White Sox @ Twins 1:10 PM
Gentlemen’s agreement. The Cubs are letting Civale throw one more game for the Sox to keep us from 50 wins and top spot in the sports section tomorrow.

We could be Royals: KC at Sox 6:40CDT 8/25, my man Josh has abdicated on the 20 minute rule
Michael Taylor is the only position player that I have zero desire to see play. Benintendi is borderline because he at least gives a professional at bat, but I hate to see him take ABs from Baldwin.

They’d be pulling Eloy out of the net.

I’m tired of these types of posts
Well, we were really bad last year. A 20 win improvement and 100+ improvement in runs scored is noteworthy. I’s be less excited about it if the major contributors were veterans. Most of our success has been driven by our young core.

Bases loaded with Robert up next… Vargas cannot try to score there.

If they would have Lady and the Tramp’d that hot dog, I don’t think I could have lived it down.

8/17/2025 - Sox @ Royals - 1:10 pm - Davis v. Bergert
I’m just glad to see some progress this season. The record stinks, but at least they have players who aren’t just going through the motions. They have some situational awareness issues, though. Eg. I’d like Montgomery to try to make contact rather than try for a 500 foot homer on every swing. Venable is doing a decent job. He’s learning the difference in being the guy making suggestions and the guy making decisions. He needs some time, but overall I think he’s ok.

“The 78” is alive and well, moisturized and thriving , Viva La Canal's Edge!
It’s a fair assessment of the stadium. The main issue is there is nothing to do immediately around it. So, the experience is limited to game. The stadium is nothing special or breathtaking, but there’s also nothing wrong with it when compared to most other stadiums.

8/10 Cle at Sox
The Sox camera crew does a bad job of locating HRs. I can never tell where the ball lands because they don’t zoom in - even on the replay. And Schriffen still can’t identify a HR off the bat.

Good news is Leasure can’t blow this one.

Sports Media discussion
Didn’t see this anywhere, so RIP Harry Teinowitz. Seemed like a good guy. Died a few weeks ago at 64yo. As I get older, that seems pretty young.

Adrian Houser traded to TB for former top prospect Curtis Mead
Even if he isn’t projected to help a team in the playoffs, a guy who can put up quality starts the rest of the season should have some value to a contender. I guess nobody wants the White Sox stink on their rosters.

7/30 Game Thread, in a delay as of 2:15 CDT
Any reason Vasil couldn’t be a starter? He’s always good.

Luis Robert trade thread: La Pantera stays.
I want the Sox to trade him, but I don’t want them to give Robert away. Keep him unless there’s a decent return.

RIP Ryne Sandberg - dies at 65
I’ve never wavered in my Sox fandom, but the ‘84 Cubs were fun to watch. I was the perfect age (12) for that season. My friends and I had no obligations. Summer was spent playing baseball, then playing intellivision while watching the Cubs (and Sox). Ryne Sandberg was so great that year. I remember watching the Sandberg game before going to a family picnic. Kind of hard not to get caught up in it all. Chicago was ripe for a winning team. The stretch from the 83 Sox to 84 Cubs to the 85 Bears (throw in Jordan getting drafted by the Bulls) was a pretty good time to be a Chicago sports fan. RIP Ryno.

7/26/2025 - Cubs @ Sox game 2 - Horton v. Civale - 6:10 CDT
I defended Schriffen last year because I didn’t feel he deserved all the hate. I’d still say some of the reactions to him are over the top, but he’s not a great listen. I like that he doesn’t have “announcer guy voice,” but for a PBP guy, he simply talks too much. He sells the team too hard. And he doesn’t really seem to know that much about or have any experience in baseball. People always made fun of Hawk for his arcane references, but at least they were baseball related. Schriffen asks his partners a lot of dumb questions. The radio broadcast is way better.I don’t see Schriffen improving over time, but (huge but) I thought DJ was terrible -really terrible - when he was on tv, and he got much better. I guess I can hope for the same with Schriffen. Let’s give the Cubs the colonic treatment and blow these a-holes out again. South Side, Stand Up!

Sox at Rays 7/22 6:35 CDT
Every day Reinsdorf owns the team counts as a loss in the offseason.

Ishbia taking control by 2029?
It would be a huge plus if there were more restaurant and bar options within walking distance of the stadium. I been doing a baseball stadium trip with friends for years, and options around the park are always a bonus.

7/12 310 CDT Tribe at Sox
I like the Sox new city connect jerseys less than the 83s, and I don’t like the 83s. Glad they’re wearing the pinstripes.

Sox to Sign Adrian Houser
Yep. Even if he puts together a totally improbable Jake Arrieta-like run for the next 3 seasons, he’ll be cooked by the time the Sox are decent (hopefully ). Makes no sense to hang onto him for even 1 more start.
