  1. With that lineup NSS posted, it's also worth noting how cheap that lineup will be. Cut out Dye, Contreras, Thome, Konerko, even if you spend some money to extend Q, Alexei, Floyd, Danks, there's money there for a major signing.
  2. Kroeger 2 run single. Swinging on first pitch fastball.
  3. QUOTE (RockRaines @ Mar 5, 2009 -> 01:43 PM) Owens brings NOTHING to the table. Please dont bring him to chicago. Please. So far, he's hitting .235 and he's not stealing many bases. He's bunting a little but not with a good success rate. He's not making any argument for keeping him so far.
  4. Owens Thrown out running on the first pitch.
  5. Owens takes the walk. Well, Heilman and Bako vs. Owens, who will win this matchup.
  6. QUOTE (RockRaines @ Mar 5, 2009 -> 01:37 PM) Becks went deep in AZ again folks. Methinks HE's winning the 2B battle. I still can't imagine him starting in the big leagues this year. Getz may not be doing it, but Nix is hitting .714 right now, Lillibridge is hitting .333.
  7. Rivas pops to Broussard. 3 down. Leadoff single stranded.
  8. Fontenot singles past Betemit, Kroeger with a solid play to hold him to a single
  9. Kroeger with a little cheap bloop single, Betemit to 3rd.
  10. Konerko K's looking. Heilman simply was better than him there.
  11. And that's the inning. 3 flyouts and a walk in the first for Marquez.
  12. Ramirez flies deep to Center after a walk to whoever is batting 2nd for the Cubs (Fuld?)
  13. Getz hits the ball to the wall but still out. 2 down.
  14. Very few of us have been there personally yet. The L.A. times had an excellent visitor's guide a few weeks ago, with details/links in this thread. Others who have gone can chime in, but it talks about a ton of those issues.
  15. Oh you guys will absolutely love this one. Amongst the people gunning to replace Burris in 2010 are Illinois State Treasurer Alexi Giannoulias, and now, potentially....former Clinton Commerce Secretary Bill Daley.
  16. QUOTE (DBAHO @ Mar 5, 2009 -> 11:06 AM) I wonder if Holt will want to go to a team where he can stay indoors and play on a better surface than say Soldier Field where his speed would argubly be more of an asset Holt's at the age where he might have to focus more on who's giving him the bigger contract as opposed to where he can get the best numbers. If someone holds him for 2-3 years, he'll be a 36 year old WR on the market.
  17. QUOTE (Chisoxfn @ Mar 5, 2009 -> 09:57 AM) I agree, but my point is that I would still gladly give up that much for Holt. He's had one season in the last seven or so years where he wasn't a complete badass and that happened to be this past year when he had absolutely no one throwing him the football. I think he still has a couple 1000 yard seasons or close to it left in him and being able to add that type of talent immediately makes this team better (Hester is a legit #2 or should develop into one and than you can push Rashid davis into a 5th spot where he's primarily a special teams guy with Bennett and the draft pick getting the other spots). I think Holt would be an excellent fit for the Bears as well, but I wouldn't give up a 3rd to get exclusive rights for him if he's going to be cut anyway.
