White Sox vs. Indians, 4/4/07 (L)
QUOTE(fathom @ Apr 4, 2007 -> 12:46 PM) Pods seems to have lost a lot of physical attributes from a few years ago. Mainly, any power he had, and a lot of his speed. Put him with the thousands of other players who have seen suspicious dropoffs since steroid testing went into play. Ok, now come on, that one is just unfair. I don't call a dropoff in speed suspicious when you have injuries that result in 2 groin and back surgeries in less than 2 years. And he was really really good in the first half of 05, over 20 steals in a row going into the AS break.

Gameday has Garland out for the 6th. 4 in a row retired and a righty up I understand it...I just hope Sisco is ready for Sizemore, and especially if it gets to Hafner.

QUOTE(kman @ Apr 4, 2007 -> 12:37 PM) I have a podz jerzey, I used to get offended by the pod bashign but my god Maybe 04 and 05 were fluke seasons. I hope not. Scott Podsednik was godawful in 2004. Hit .244 with an OPS of .677. He stole a lot of bases, but he was just plain awful with the bat.

Gosh...thank Goodness we didn't have a runner on 2nd when that ball was hit.

QUOTE(TitoMB345 @ Apr 4, 2007 -> 12:35 PM) How did Erstad look when he stole that base? I assume it was a no throw since it was a strikeout? There was a throw, not watching it though. Erstad is starting to grow on me a little bit.

Getting thrown out by Victor Martinez...not exactly impressive.

QUOTE(CYGarland @ Apr 4, 2007 -> 12:31 PM) That should do it for Garland. Lets hope the pen can keep them down Garland may come out for the 6th since Marte, a righty, is leading off, but I expect to see Sisco against Sizemore and Hafner next inning.

QUOTE(Jenks Heat @ Apr 4, 2007 -> 12:28 PM) I think he and Crede should be flipped in this lineup if he is not going to hit 2nd. With the power Crede showed last year, I really like having Crede in the 6th hole right after the 3 big OPS guys. If Crede's average or power dips or Iguchi can push it towards 30 home runs I'll be wrong, but based on last year's performance, Crede fits perfectly right after whoever hits 5th.

So, am I correct in saying that Molina has the only RBI on the sox on anything other than a home run so far this year?

QUOTE(Frankensteiner @ Apr 4, 2007 -> 12:21 PM) Is it out of the realm of possibility to think about the Sox making a pitching acquisition at some point this season? Or are we in the same "we've got to win with what we've got" mode that we were stubbornly in last year. Not that I know of anyone that would be available, but we're going to have to upgrade here if this team wants to contend this season and beyond. If we're really, really close in the race, it's not entirely out of the realm of possibilities...but I agree with Fathom that Haeger and Floyd, and maybe Broadway within a couple months, are much more likely and probably better options. But, the way I think about it...if we're in need of another starting pitcher of the quality that will be available on the trading market...we will not be in this race.

QUOTE(Felix @ Apr 4, 2007 -> 12:17 PM) Just got back from class.. how's Garland looked outside of the second? Poor. 7 hits, 4 walks in 4 innings. 89 pitches, 49 strikes, 40 balls. Lotta stuff up in the zone. He was squeezed some by the ump, but that became less of a concern when the Tribe started hammerign everything. Pitching at 91 mph or slower according to Gameday.

89 pitches for JG through 4. So who gets the 2 inning performance today? I'd vote we give it to Masset or Sisco again.

QUOTE(CYGarland @ Apr 4, 2007 -> 11:48 AM) If i recall correctly, we started 0-4 last year. Lets not jump to conclusions 1-4. We rocked the Tribe in game 1 during a downpour on Banner night. BMac got the win in relief of Buehrle.
