@Balta1701 if your argument is it's better for society if teams built their own stadiums or it's unfair to non fans for tax payers to fund stadiums, I agree.
As a selfish Sox fan, I'm going to say buy them a stadium, a couple free agents, and a manager.
Maybe he could start a Gofundme.

They took the money I think the folks paying those NIL deals deserve a say in the matter. You pay big bucks and the guy sits out a bowl game?
I wonder how many will write that into the contract if kids are skipping out and not playing.
Compared to what other entities are getting paid? It will never happen anyway. They'll just be the usual smattering of players who skip the games.
It would be quite funny to me, if they had 3rd and 4th stringers for big bowl games, akin to NFL preseason but worse.

OSU is going to be playing a lot of non-starters
Any player destined to play on Sundays should skip bowl games, including ones in the so-called playoff. Why should they risk injury for someone else’s payday.

It’s not a playoff. It’s a reality show. May as well go back to the writers house telling you who the national champion is.

Jimbo Fisher fired. Texas A and M has to pay him $76 million not to coach , which is more money than JR ever gave another teams free agent

College sports' finances is something I'll never understand. How does that work with Texas A & M being a public / state school, too?

Even the White Sox aren't that stupid. Why does this keep getting brought up?
Oh, if I had a nickel...

I sure don't want to enjoy winning.
Keep rooting for the White Sox and that won't be an issue.

I don't see anyone saying they are going to be Tigers fans now, so the whole "just watching for Benetti" talk is silly.
What it is, and it's been said, but I'll reiterate, the straw on an already well-laden camel.
If there was a sports book where you could bet on the White Sox doing the worse thing in any scenario, you could make a bundle.

And just so everyone knows, Janish is pronounced YAHnish. Or at least according to his Wiki page.
Oh, so it isn't Hugh's brother.

Yes the Astros have been bailing him out for the past few years.
No, (well yeah) but I mean way, way back on the north side.

WTF was Dusty doing leaving France out there to die? Why even pitch to Garcia with an open base? Just baffling decisions.
Wasn't that his MO from a playoff series a while back? 🤔

Has it been ruled out that the raid may have happened outside his house?

Wait until they get their first budget. 🤣

Complete MLB transcript records of the Trevor Bauer investigation:
- Rob Manfred: "Hello Andrew."
- Andrew Freidman: "Yes."
- Rob: "Do you guys still want to pay Trevor Bauer?"
- Andrew: "No."
- Rob: "Done, thanks."
Complete MLB transcript records of the Mike Clevinger investigation:
- Rob Manfred: "Hello Jerry."
- Jerry Reinsdorf: "Yes."
- Rob: "This is Rob."
- Jerry: "f*** you."
- Rob: "Thank you Mr. Chairman. Do you guys still want to pay Mike Clevinger?"
- Jerry: "You might not believe this, but yes the contract is not expensive and I'm told he can pitch."
- Rob: "Got it. Done, Mike is cleared."
Complete MLB transcript records of the Wander Franco investigation:
- Rob Manfred: "Hello Stu."
- Stuart Sternberg: "I told you to call me Mr. Sternberg."
- Rob: "Sorry sir, this won't happen again. Do you want to honor Wander Franco's contract."
- Andrew: "No, glad to be done with it."
- Rob: "Done, thanks."
You joke, but really, think about it. Why does MLB do internal investigations? They aren't the FBI or any type of law enforcement. It's all about how it's going to (or likely to) splash back on them.
