  1. My typing is the last thing to go when I'm drunk, I mean unless you're about to pass out there's no reason at all anybody with a wpm over 75 should be sloshing their palms across the keyboard like a retarded seal. It's a motor skill, kinda like walking.
  2. I think it's pretty dumb that IU blew up their entire Basketball program and put themselves 2-3 years away from contention and the NCAA still didnt think it was enough.
  3. I would really like to get Johnny Cueto.
  4. Whatever, you're just changing argument form post to post. Nobody here is rooting for Jermaine Dye to get traded because we want JD gone, his value has peaked and now we can something pretty good for him. I'm done.
  5. Jermaine Dye's OPS+ with the White Sox. 2005: 118 2006: 151 2007: 105 2008: 126 There are not many players in the AL who have been that good the past 4 seasons. Bear in mind how pitiful the beginning of 2005 was for Dye and he still finished 18% above league average in OPS.
  6. Are we supposed to mourn the loss of Jermaine Dye instead of being excited about John Danks, Carlos Quentin, Dayan Viciedo, Gordon Beckham etc. etc.? Message to Jermaine Dye (if hes traded): Thanks so much JD, you've been huge for us the past 3 years and have shattered everyone's expectations of you. No matter what team you go to you'll recieve a standing ovation every time you come to the South Side. I hope you dont take getting traded personally, you know that baseball is a business and that sometimes you have to give up a pretty important piece to get something you really want in return.
  7. When we took on Jermaine Dye he was an oft-injured OF who people were afraid of. Now he's one of the best offensive players in the AL (and the numbers back me up on this).
  8. Are you kidding me? This is ridiculous, remember when we almost traded Dye to Boston but didn't because we weren't going to get the value we wanted for him? Baseball is a business, you can take your feel good s*** where you stick with players past their peak value and wonder a year from now what you were thinking and I'll take my stance of being proactive. I love Jermaine Dye, but we've got to do what's best for the team. I'm so so so so soooooooooooooo happy you dont run the White Sox.
  9. I was kidding when I mentioned signed Teixeira, that would be a bad idea. Same goes for Manny Ramirez. Come on guys, there are like 5 players in baseball worth the money those two will get. This isn't like Hanley Ramirez or Albert Pujols where were getting somebody we know will tear the cover off the ball.
  10. Unless we went out and signed Mark Texiera and Rafael Furcal with the money we saved I would be pretty pissed off about trading Javier Vazquez for Aaron Hielmann. I dont like anything the Mets have, Fernando Martinez is too much projection for what we'd have to give up to get him and they'll never trade Beltran, Reyes or Wright. Kenny Williams has never made a trade for the sake of making a trade, lets not fall into that trap.
  11. Fernando Martinez should not be in our plans for 2009 or even 2010. He's got some work to do. That said, I'd take him in a heartbeat for Javier Vazquez.
  12. I couldn't say yes fast enough. You're still left with a pretty hefty chip in Vazquez to do whatever the hell you want.
  13. The only part of that lineup I dont absolutely love is Paul Konerko. Other than that though, its pure sex.
  14. But there is a guy on the FA market (Furcal) who fits in with our team perfectly, best part is we wouldn't have to give up picks to get him. I dont like tapping into the top free agents but I'm willing to make an exception for Furcal.
  15. A guy who puts himself in scoring position by himself roughly 20% of the time he steps up to the plate (assuming 30 doubles, 50 steals and 10 triples) in front of Carlos Quentin would be murder.
  16. We'd still be down a RH power bat in the middle of our order unless we think Viciedo is Miggy Cabrera II or Paul Konerko will suddenly be something he hasn't been in 2 years.
  17. I'd say 2 years of .350 OBP, good power and 50 steals at the top of our lineup is pretty good. There aren't many guys who have that skill set.
  18. Well I dont think were going to get Evan Longoria or David Price. I dont know who would replace Dye though? Move Quentin to RF but that still leaves holes in 2/3 of our OF. I'm not willing to put Viciedo in RF and leave Betemit/Fields at 3B... that could be a disaster.
  19. Maybe we want Carl Crawford and are dangling Jermaine Dye to get him? Other way around. Jermaine Dye is pretty underrated here, they guy has been one of the best corner OF's in the AL for the past 3 years.
  20. He's going to be 27 this upcoming season, we get a repeat of those 2007 numbers plus the SB's and Quentin/Thome will have a field day with him.
  21. Terrific opportunity to buy low on a leadoff man who could easily get 50 steals, 20 HR's (in the Cell) and a .350 OBP. I'd love the move and would be willing to toss them a Lance Broadway scrap in addition to Dye.
  22. I think Kenny has a much easier time dealing with Torres than he does Boras.
