  1. Oh btw, big power hitters ALWAYS have the most walks and fewest strike outs.
  2. Excuse my rookie status on this site, don't know what Justin Gage or Easyw have over anyone else. Repeating Embarrassed had NOTHING to do with spelling South Side. Tell me how leading two out of three leagues in HR is embarrassing? Does ANYONE else understand that the big money High draft picks are considered SERIOUS prospects only because of the money? Can anyone say Valido? Hurt, then he stunk up Winston Salem on his return. Seems like he is having a pretty good spring, did the Sox bring any other so so Warthogs to camp? I can't imagine ANY OTHER prospect could "have a hard time adjusting to AA ball" I think a pretty highly touted prospect named Saltalamachia may have struggled some last year too. Don't MOST players make adjustments and start playing at or above the level of competition? Has anyone checked out minor league stats for guys who have fared well in the bigs? Maybe Brett Clevlen on the Tigers is a good example to look at.......
  3. QUOTE(easyw @ Mar 12, 2007 -> 06:40 AM) In 2 games so far this spring, Collaro is 4 for 6 with 5 TB and 3 runs scored. No strikouts, one double. I think these are mostly 'B' squad games, but at least he hasn't embarressed himself....yet. So "B" squad games are against short bus guys? Embarassed himself .... yet ??
  4. Got in against the D Backs on Thursday, smacked a single and scored.
  5. All this preseason stuff is pure speculation, just like mock draft talk. So much changes year to year, how can anyone think that a big power hitter like Collaro just totally loses it? One season of adjustment could add up to a VERY BIG year at the bat. Longest Homer EVER in the Pioneer League, League leader in HR and second in RBI at Carolina. That is not a fluke boys......
  6. I'm going with the big bomber Tom Collaro to light up AA this year. Down last year but watch out when he gets going.....
  7. Just watched the tape of the only Baron's televised game last year. TC smacked a couple and I think he'll be doing some good hitting this year too !!!
  8. I hope Birmingham gets more guys like Collaro, who else is doing any hitting? He's been smacking Homers, getting RBI's and making more contact lately.
  9. Anyone else watch? Comcast Local sports showed the Barons last Thursday playing the Bay Bears. TC smacked two, a solo in the seventh and a MONSTER 2 run shot in the ninth that should have been the game winner. Wass couldn't hold the lead
  10. Been painful at times, lots of swings and misses, confidence was lacking. Popped a couple of homers in one game recently so let's think STREAK !!!! / Barons
  11. I heard Dizard needed to take care of "family matters" and when he comes back someone would need to be sent down. Anyone know who the last man on the Baron's roster would be?
  12. Hey Easy, I'm not kicking your ass... Just assisting... Enjoy the blog... TC is picking up a little steam, he's always been a streaky hitter. Let's get some dingers going now.
  13. Let's go EZ, quit slacking off... Collaro has smacked two already, a 400' + and the game winner against a 25mph wind !! Still swinging freely but hey....
  14. He got into Sunday's game against the Royals and got a hit.
  15. Allow me to assist..... He was also second in the league in outfield assists, he had around a dozen, the leader 14 or 15. He also had the second most at bats in the league and was fourth in total bases.
  16. QUOTE(Soxpranos @ Mar 15, 2006 -> 10:21 PM) lol What about the Warthog "Bombers" Hall, Daigle and Collaro?
  17. QUOTE(danman31 @ May 18, 2005 -> 05:30 PM) Amador was drafted out of HS in 2000, 8th round. Collaro is still tearing up the league, three homers the last two nights. A grand slam two nights ago and a 500' shot into the wind last night !!! The Orioles brought up a guy from high A a couple of weeks ago, has Chicago ever done it ???
