QUOTE (RockRaines @ Apr 20, 2011 -> 12:01 PM) I honestly have no idea what that is and it sounds pretty strange. Will my block O be dancing around in the background? Animated wallpaper. QUOTE (RockRaines @ Apr 20, 2011 -> 12:01 PM) I have yet to see a customized android phone that blows me out of the water with its tweaks. Folders, backgrounds, etc arent really that different than what every phone can do. Scroll through a few pages of this thread: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread...30&page=710

Can you set it up that your screen isn't completely obstructed by your apps and really show off the wallpaper?
-
QUOTE (RockRaines @ Apr 20, 2011 -> 11:58 AM) You can do that on every smartphone though. Even on flip phones. Whats the big deal? Can you use live wallpapers on every phone too?

QUOTE (Balta1701 @ Apr 20, 2011 -> 11:52 AM) Again...I have no idea what I'd do if I had those abilities. I've never used a smartphone. You can decide to customize absolutely nothing at all and still have a terrific experience with an EVO. You just have that option if you ever get bored some day.

QUOTE (Balta1701 @ Apr 20, 2011 -> 11:45 AM) The message I'm getting is the same. I haven't a clue what I'd like to customize, so start off with the iPhone and learn what the hell I'll actually use the thing for first. Think wallpapers, home screens, widgets, ability to use folders, memory storage, cpu speed, user interface, etc.

QUOTE (mu mu @ Apr 20, 2011 -> 11:28 AM) The team draws its inspiration from Soxtalk threads? I had no idea.

4/20 GAME THREAD: Sox @ Rays, 5:40pm CT

Time to get back on track. -
QUOTE (103 mph screwball @ Apr 20, 2011 -> 08:09 AM) Being negative and telling a team they suck is counterproductive. How so? Is Ozzie making the team read Soxtalk threads at team meetings?

QUOTE (juddling @ Apr 20, 2011 -> 08:13 AM) I'm sure this will eventually turn into a Fire Greg Walker/ Don't fire Greg Walker discussion with the usual debate about how much he's really responsible for the Sox annual April batting woes. I'm not sure if making a change would help but i got to admit it seems like every year the Sox offense sucks in April. And August/September.

QUOTE (SoxFanForever @ Apr 19, 2011 -> 08:17 PM) So I have the HTC Incredible right now but I'm looking to upgrade. My contract with VZW is up and I can get a phone upgrade (Thunderbolt) or bolt for Sprint and I could get an EVO. Think it would be best to wait for now until the next Sprint smartphone? I have an EVO and I'd say either go with the Thunderbolt or wait for the EVO 3D. You might think 3D is gimmicky, which it probably is, but you get a toggle switch on the phone to turn it off.

Pretty sad when this thread has become an annual one.

QUOTE (Jordan4life @ Apr 19, 2011 -> 08:54 PM) People keep asking who's out there? If you want Ozzie and KW gone who do you replace them with? The answer is I have no f***ing clue. I didn't know who I wanted when we were trying to replace Manuel back in '03. Certainly not Ozzie. And anybody who says they wanted Ozzie outside of knowing he once played SS for the White Sox is lying. Nobody knew who the hell KW was outside of that he once played for the Sox. That's it. I want a Theo Epstein, Andrew Friedman, Alex ASFSADFSGA type. A younger, not so stubborn GM, who realizes how critical long-term success is. Not just emptying out your eggs into one basket every year. A GM that's more innovative. Not so old-school. That realizes the importance of advanced statistical analysis. The game is changing, evolving every year. For a manager, I want one that realizes the times were in. The league were in. One who's not stubborn to a fault and gets the most out of his personal. Realizes his players' strength and weaknesses. I don't want entertainment. Ozzie's swearing and soundbites were cool back in '06. It's old now. -

QUOTE (StrangeSox @ Apr 19, 2011 -> 08:37 PM) 2005 was 6 years ago. And it was largely due to an unstoppable pitching staff from top to bottom, not brilliant managerial moves or strategy. Winning 6 years ago doesn't excuse the next 5 years of poor game management. Giving up outs with dumb bunts, giving up outs with unnecessary steals, lefty-righty obsession, bizarre bullpen choices. And lest not forget all of the boneheaded moves he made in 2005 as well. Luckily the pitching staff was too good to be "Ozzied" out of the race. -

Ever hear the term "what have you done for me lately"? -
Finally deactivated my LinkedIn account. Had it for years and the only time I ever used it was when I accepted an invitation to link to someone.

QUOTE (StrangeSox @ Apr 19, 2011 -> 04:28 PM) BS's point is that the AL Central has been pretty weak for the last decade, excluding significant payroll bumps this year, and that the Sox should have had much more success given their payroll levels vs. their competition over that period. Not sure how that leads to it being okay to lose in 2011. I think he was just putting on his lawyer cap on and decomposing every word in my post to twist my logic around. -

QUOTE (Balta1701 @ Apr 19, 2011 -> 04:22 PM) So, you're content with losing this year and declare that no one should lose their job over this year's performance? I'm not content with losing in any year. -

QUOTE (Greg Hibbard @ Apr 19, 2011 -> 04:14 PM) Since 1993, the White Sox have won more games than any team in the American League with the exception of the Yankees, Red Sox and Indians, and they are JUST BEHIND the Indians. They've averaged 86+ wins per 162 games during that span. I really don't know what else to say. If you think this organization is s***, then do yourself a favor and just stop watching baseball. When they start giving rings to teams with good win averages per season I'll start flaunting that stat around. In the meantime, I'll continue to expect a high payroll team in a weak division to start making the post season on a more frequent basis. -

QUOTE (Balta1701 @ Apr 19, 2011 -> 04:00 PM) I don't have data including the most recent 2 seasons, but from the period of 1998-2008, the White Sox were #6 in the league in lowest cost per win. So what does that tell me? That we finish over .500 pretty often but fail to make the post season? -

QUOTE (Rowand44 @ Apr 19, 2011 -> 03:53 PM) And you absolutely should but it's way too damn early to be giving up on this particular team that's for sure. Honestly, I haven't. But I'm seeing similar trends that I've seen with Guillen led teams. -

QUOTE (southsider2k5 @ Apr 19, 2011 -> 03:46 PM) No keep stomping your feet until they win. 2005 was a long time ago. We have one of the highest payrolls in the AL and have been in a pretty weak division during that span. I expect a better rate of success. -

QUOTE (DukeofChicago88 @ Apr 19, 2011 -> 03:50 PM) Why is Juan Pierre in the lineup? Can't even stand to watch that little short s*** play nowadays. Rather have Vizquel lead off. Who needs speed when you can't swipe a bag to begin with. I'm serious. Preach on!
