QUOTE (StrangeSox @ Dec 16, 2009 -> 10:31 AM) Natalie Portman to produce and star in Pride And Prejudice and Zombies. http://moviesblog.mtv.com/2009/12/11/natal...ce-and-zombies/ Kick ass! One of my favorite fellow vegans in Hollywood.
  2. QUOTE (cornball @ Dec 16, 2009 -> 09:45 AM) Where the club is right now after the JP trade, Kenny definately will add a power lefty bat. I am guessing Delgato on a low base incentive deal. Doesn't feel right to gut the farm right now for AGonn or Dunn although they would be welcome additions. Delgato is coming off of hip sugury and is supposed to be playing winterball. ...and has been vocal in the past about not wanting to play here.
  3. Had the high points for the week so lets keep the magic rolling. Need help deciding my flex player once again: Dallas Clark at JAX (Will he play all 4 quarters? JAX 3rd best against fantasy TEs. Clark had a terrible game earlier against them. He is a red zone favorite though.) Quinton Ganther vs NYG (Big game last week but only had 14 carries against a terrible Oakland D. Giants decent against the run.) Arian Foster at STL (Great matchup. Kubiak said he'd feature him the last 3 games but he's as bad as Shannahan.) Chris Jennings at KC (Big game last week. Will he share with Harrison? Cribbs apparently to be more involved in wildcat too. And can I trust a Brown in the playoffs?) Dwayne Bowe vs CLE (Put up decent numbers each week before the suspension. Cleveland a decent pass D though.)
  4. QUOTE (Y2HH @ Dec 16, 2009 -> 08:52 AM) That's because the 90's data showed a clear warming trend, I believe it was one of the hottest decades ever on record, but since the 90's ended, the data no longer shows that trend continuing despite emission increasing worldwide, so data in the 00's is counter to the data in the 90's -- thus it's more convenient to ignore it and point to data from 97. So the melting glaciers worldwide and increased ocean temperatures are due to a cooling trend?
  5. QUOTE (NorthSideSox72 @ Dec 16, 2009 -> 07:49 AM) Can't find the article now, but saw yesterday... by having Pierre and Vizquel on the team, the 2010 White Sox will have the #1 and #2 among active players in baseball, in both stolen bases, and bunt hits. That's like saying signing Bonds would give us the best power team in baseball.
  6. QUOTE (Eminor3rd @ Dec 16, 2009 -> 08:43 AM) Ugh. He has to be joking or deflecting attention from something he's working on. That makes no sense! "Giving guys a rest" is why you got all those bench players in the first place! To SUB them in or give them occasional starts. Not to WASTE a starting lineup position on an inferior player on a consistent basis. We're going to be the only team to have our DH consistently bat 7th or 8th. Mark showed a little bit of power in Milwaukee. Perhaps we could just have the pitchers hit and skip the DH. It'll save some money too.
  7. QUOTE (Melissa1334 @ Dec 15, 2009 -> 10:21 PM) which is why i said im not comparing the two. i just said that its not necessary. u can still be good if u dont walk So it's ok that he doesn't walk much because Ichiro doesn't walk much...plus he's a much worse hitter than Ichiro, but you're not comparing the two. Huh?
  8. If Pierre could consistently hit in the .350-.360 range then no one will complain about the lack of walks.
  9. QUOTE (SoxAce @ Dec 15, 2009 -> 04:32 PM) I wasn't feelin Juan Pierre as much as you are either Kalapse. You aren't feelin' him in the right places then.
  10. QUOTE (BFirebird @ Dec 15, 2009 -> 04:29 PM) Green Man on acid or regular Green Man? I'll let Kenny decide.
  11. QUOTE (monomach @ Dec 15, 2009 -> 04:28 PM) Why have the Sox always been obsessed with leadoff hitters who can't get on base? I'm sure this is an Ozzie thing. He loves bad hitters with speed who make outs by getting caught stealing. ...and before someone brings up Pierre's .365 obp last year, you know it's just as much a fluke as Podsednik's 2009. Give me the leadoff hitter Boston was using for a while in 06/07: a Kevin Youkilis type. I want the underrated guy with doubles power and a super high walk total over a weak slap hitter who hits a bunch of ground balls and makes outs on the basepaths without drawing walks. If we don't get a real run producer for the DH role and do what Ozzie wants, we're going to waste this amazing pitching staff. I like the way you think old man.
  12. Jenks, Ramirez, Floyd and Cora for Raul Ibanez's beard and Green Man.
  13. QUOTE (Leonard Zelig @ Dec 15, 2009 -> 04:13 PM) Sorry, an error occurred. No need to apologize.

  15. QUOTE (Kenny Hates Prospects @ Dec 15, 2009 -> 03:05 PM) I say we'll trade Bobby in a deal for Luke Scott as a means to afford Juan Pierre. Putz will be the closer on paper. Our lineup will suck and our bullpen will be shaky as hell. And you will be wrapping up lumps of coal for Christmas presents.

The original Danish version received much better reviews for what it's worth. I plan to check it out some time.
  17. QUOTE (Brian @ Dec 15, 2009 -> 02:17 PM) I would get so frustrated with watching Vlad bat every game. Likewise. I'd want to impale him after each failed attempt of flailing at the pitch.

QUOTE (Brian @ Dec 15, 2009 -> 01:58 PM) 'Brothers' was ok. Tobey was very good in it, but something was off for me. Ending was not satisfactory either. Another example of a movie abusing the use of music. Note to director: You don't need to add sentimental music during every touching moment of the film. Sometimes silence is more effective.
  19. QUOTE (southsider2k5 @ Dec 15, 2009 -> 01:43 PM) Pods in RF? Um. Ew. And Pods in CF is a good idea how? He'd see more balls hit to him there anyway.
  20. QUOTE (Markbilliards @ Dec 15, 2009 -> 01:40 PM) Can Pods even make the throw from RF to 3B ? I'd rather have good defense up the middle. He can't make a throw from anywhere in the OF so what's the difference? He would have been replacing Jermaine "Ringling Bros" Dye anyway so it wasn't really a downgrade in right.
  21. QUOTE (southsider2k5 @ Dec 15, 2009 -> 01:34 PM) So are you saying Dye should have never been out of RF? Who should have backed it up? The choices were Rios in RF with Pods or Wise in CF, or Wise in RF. I would have prefered Pods or Wise in RF when Dye had the day off and kept Rios in CF.
  22. QUOTE (The Critic @ Dec 15, 2009 -> 01:10 PM) Given the past glories of recent pickups, my guess is.......Willie Stargell?
