QUOTE(fathom @ Sep 15, 2006 -> 11:12 PM) Our bullpen is absolutely pathetic right now. I think we have like 5 players on this team who aren't underachieving right now. i think cotts had a career year last seaon. his stuff isn't that great

QUOTE(S720 @ Sep 15, 2006 -> 11:08 PM) Please remember Frank was NO WHERE in the first half. If you took Thome out and replaced him with Frank in the first half, forget about it. Even with Frank's current hot bat, it will not be enough for us to catch up. meh, i disagree. but thats message boards are for.

QUOTE(Kalapse @ Sep 15, 2006 -> 10:57 PM) Well it's likely the pitching would have performed the same way they did to start this year, now could last year's offense carry this team for 5 months of the season like it has this year? Would Frank have the same motivation to succeed that he does with the A's, would he have stayed healthy? How would the clubhouse attitude work with KW/Ozzie/Frank coexisting for the entire season seeing how they seemingly hate eachother? Would Crede and Dye be having the year they're having with Thomas/Everett in the lineup as opposed to Thome? It is an interesting topic regardless. i think Frank would have put up these numbers with the Sox. He seems like the kind of player that would be hungry for more than one title. Frank is the type of player that wants to be remember as an all-time great and he knows back to back world series rings would help solidify that.

QUOTE(Frankensteiner @ Sep 15, 2006 -> 10:56 PM) I will say that keeping Thomas looks like a good move only in hindsight so you can't blame KW for anything there. of course. like i said, i thought it was a great move at the time.

QUOTE(S720 @ Sep 15, 2006 -> 10:55 PM) No, you are not wrong. If we had Frank in the first half instead of Thome, we will NEVER in this race. We would be too far off to contend. Remember Thome was a MONSTER in the first half. He really carried our team before the AS break. Having Thome's left bat balances our lineup; unfortunately, it has not helped our team tonight! not really. the whole team was killing during the NL stretch. now when we need a big hitter Frank is on fire and Thome is cold. kinda sucks we ran the best hitter in Sox history out of town. just my opinion though (obviously)

QUOTE(southsideirish71 @ Sep 15, 2006 -> 10:54 PM) Well remember the formula that everyone forgets. If Thomas is here, he isnt playing for 500k, and Konerko is an Angel. Thome+Konerko is better than Thomas. Frank would have stayed for less than you think IMO he would have signed a 1 year 2 mil deal for sure. no one else wanted him. we keep Konerko in that situation.

QUOTE(Kalapse @ Sep 15, 2006 -> 10:52 PM) Pablo Ozuna was blowing a bubble during his walk off bunt base hit against the A's at the Cell earlier this year. that was sweet

QUOTE(fathom @ Sep 15, 2006 -> 10:49 PM) I'm not ready to argue who's better this year, Frank or Thome. The one thing I'll say is that Thomas is swinging the bat significantly better than Thome down the stretch. i thought getting Thome and sending Frank out was a great move i was wrong

the sox are just a bullsh*t softball team, all homerun. no speed, no d, sh*tty pitching (most of the time), no moving runners... atleast the sox will be awesome on playstation in 2007- White Sox @ A's Game Thread
QUOTE(WHarris1 @ Sep 15, 2006 -> 10:20 PM) How about we f***ing play like our backs are against the wall here and score some f***ing runs. LETS GO ^^^- White Sox @ A's Game Thread
QUOTE(jphat007 @ Sep 15, 2006 -> 10:15 PM) Not me. Especially without home field. i don't think you need to worry about it. i doubt the Sox are making the playoffs.- White Sox @ A's Game Thread
QUOTE(Frankensteiner @ Sep 15, 2006 -> 10:13 PM) He would have. I never said Anderson isn't a much better CF, and I think he should be starting, but this thing has been so beaten into the ground, it's gotten old. And Brian Anderson isn't a very good hitter. i'll agree with you that anderson is a bit overrated here on soxtalk, but c'mon i'd rather have him in center and mack in left than what the sox are currently going with.- White Sox @ A's Game Thread
QUOTE(southsideirish71 @ Sep 15, 2006 -> 10:09 PM) This is why he doesnt play CF. He can play LF instead of prancer. true i have no idea why anderson is on the bench and podsednik is flopping around in left- White Sox @ A's Game Thread
QUOTE(jphat007 @ Sep 15, 2006 -> 10:07 PM) Cmon guys. We need some good vibes tonight!! Let's doooo it! good vibes are for fans of playoff teams- White Sox @ A's Game Thread
QUOTE(southsideirish71 @ Sep 15, 2006 -> 09:59 PM) Time for the meat of the lineup to hit the f***ing ball so we can shut up the kazoo, trumpet, and horn section at the dump. fish yea- White Sox @ A's Game Thread
QUOTE(Kalapse @ Sep 15, 2006 -> 09:56 PM) Seemed like Frank got in there between Bradley and the umpired, made sure Milton didn't do anything stupid what a cancerous move by the big skirt. yea, he's a douche bag. i hate him- White Sox @ A's Game Thread
QUOTE(fathom @ Sep 15, 2006 -> 09:50 PM) I wouldn't be stunned if he's traded this offseason. I know KW likes him, and he's supposed to be the Sox CF of the future. However, the more each day goes by, the more I think Juan Pierre will be our CF next year. i would be shocked if the Sox trade Anderson. if we get Pierre he'll be in left- White Sox @ A's Game Thread
QUOTE(Kalapse @ Sep 15, 2006 -> 09:42 PM) All the time. I'll just never understand why Podsednik continues to start for this team when he is one of the worst all around ballplayers I've ever seen. how bout it the guy must have pictures of ozzie's wife or something- White Sox @ A's Game Thread
QUOTE(Tony82087 @ Sep 15, 2006 -> 09:42 PM) He pulled that HR though, shame on him....... haha yea, what an ass- White Sox @ A's Game Thread
QUOTE(WilliamTell @ Sep 15, 2006 -> 09:29 PM) Thomas continues to own up on Garland. Frank is the best though, can't help but root for him - White Sox @ A's Game Thread
