  1. QUOTE(southsideirish71 @ Aug 7, 2006 -> 04:57 PM) if a nuke goes off in the US, that country needs to be destroyed, no ands ifs or butts on the matter. If we pussy foot around this, every country will have a nuke and will hold us hostage. c'mon shouthsideirish, that'll just means we need to get back to the negotiating table.
  2. QUOTE(southsider2k5 @ Aug 7, 2006 -> 10:18 AM) Mike North is just horrible. i think he's great
  3. QUOTE(Balta1701 @ Aug 4, 2006 -> 02:17 PM) Or very, very wealthy. or those who invest wisely. but only idiots do that spend, spend, spend! oh, and small businesses lose with the 'death tax', but screw them (the government deserves their possessions more then their families). Hell, they've only been taxed like 3 times on that stuff anyways.
  4. QUOTE(Balta1701 @ Aug 3, 2006 -> 07:44 PM) And all I was saying was that a reasonable chunk of Nader's cash came from Republican donors. Here's numbers to back it up. July 04, several tens of thousands of dollars going to Nader by people who also gave to Bush. Why is this something i'm getting hammered on? I can't even figure out what you people are trying to argue. no one's hammering you, just a conversation on 3rd party influence. oh, i think Democrats need to start donating heavily to the Libertarian party! send the link to all your Democrat friends http://www.lp.org/members/contribute.shtml
  5. QUOTE(Balta1701 @ Aug 3, 2006 -> 07:08 PM) Did you even pay attention to the subject I was talking about? I was saying that this was absolutely no different than the Republicans dumping money into Nader's campaign in 04, which they did, nor was it any different from waht the Democrats would have done had someone made a run against Bush from the right. looks like both parties had equal levels of competition for votes in 2004 Left Ralph Nader 463,653 David Cobb - Green 119,850 Right Michael Badnarik - Libertarian 397,265 Michael Peroutka - Constitution 144,498 Finance * George W. Bush ® $367,228,801 / 62,040,610 = $5.92 / vote * John Kerry (D) $326,236,288 / 59,028,111 = $5.52 * Ralph Nader (i) $4,566,037 / 463,653 = $9.85 * Michael Badnarik (L) $1,093,013 / 397,265 = $2.75 * Michael Peroutka © $709,087 / 144,498 = $4.91
  6. QUOTE(Gregory Pratt @ Aug 3, 2006 -> 06:47 PM) LOLOLOLOL UR FUNNY yea dude! go cubs!
  7. QUOTE(Balta1701 @ Aug 3, 2006 -> 05:19 PM) After 6 years of this President, I think a lot of them would actually agree that they are fools. There's a reason why Nader put in so much worse of a showing in 04. Kerry would have been just as bad (probably worse). vote Demorcrat or DIE! LOL
  8. QUOTE(Gregory Pratt @ Aug 3, 2006 -> 05:10 PM) Yeah, actually, I think the people who voted Nader are fools. they probably think the same thing about you. John Kerry supporter.
  9. QUOTE(Soxbadger @ Aug 3, 2006 -> 04:21 PM) Im sorry but if Israel was a terrorist organization, I would not accept the US giving them any aid. why should we be giving israel THAT much aid. it's ridiculous. oh, and if you lived in Lebanon you would probably consider israel a terrorist nation.
  10. QUOTE(WCSox @ Aug 3, 2006 -> 04:15 PM) Israel PURCHASES weapons from the U.S. It's a financial transaction. Hezbollah, on the other hand, doesn't purchase anything. Iran GIVES them the weapons and, in return, Hezbollah does their bidding. we give isreael tons of money and free weapons. from what i understand the united states pretty much is the main funding source for the isreali army
  11. QUOTE(Balta1701 @ Aug 3, 2006 -> 04:06 PM) So on that basis, the U.S. is actually at war with Lebanon? good point.
  12. QUOTE(LowerCaseRepublican @ Aug 3, 2006 -> 03:55 PM) i.e. his interviews with Congress members like Lynn Westmoreland -- a guy who is parading the need to have the 10 Commandments everywhere because they're so important -- and Colbert asked Westmoreland to name the commandments for him. Westmoreland got 2 before admitting he didn't know them.) haha, that is hilarious those interviews are definately the best part of the show.
  13. lol colbert is such a douchebag QUOTE(BobDylan @ Aug 3, 2006 -> 03:49 PM) but I really can't stand Colbert and his show. ^^^ it's lame
  14. QUOTE(Gregory Pratt @ Aug 3, 2006 -> 03:03 PM) Probably not, but Liberal voters have done some stupid things before! yea, what morons. i mean, who votes for the candidate they want to win?only a fool.
  15. QUOTE(CYGarland @ Aug 2, 2006 -> 07:32 PM) At least he's not Harry Carey on those calls..............It could be, it might be, it is...3 run homer by Sosa. (But the LF caught it) Farmer is the worst. no emotion. "the ball is hit in the air. 3 run homerun. ho-hum."
  16. QUOTE(southsideirish71 @ Aug 2, 2006 -> 07:29 PM) Hawk with another stretch stretch. He truly is worthless on home runs calls. yea, that last "stretch" was annoying
  17. QUOTE(Balta1701 @ Aug 2, 2006 -> 06:34 PM) if not, this debate has absolutely no point. as compared to the other debates here on soxtalk?
  18. QUOTE(Rex Kickass @ Aug 2, 2006 -> 06:17 PM) I'm willing to wager that half of Perot's votes in 1992 came from voters who would have stayed home on Election Day rather than voted for Bush. i don't thnk so, but you could be right. the same could also be said of Green Party/Nader voters.
  19. QUOTE(tealeafreaderii @ Aug 2, 2006 -> 06:18 PM) oh jeeze... I"m drunk and the game hasn't started yet... this could be a problem that batman avatar is hilarious
  20. i predict a sox winner. book it.
  21. QUOTE(Gregory Pratt @ Aug 2, 2006 -> 04:33 PM) Thank you. So few people believe that, and it drives me mad. Clinton and Perot sang a similar song. Had similar backgrounds. Were both tooting about change. Blasted away at Bush, but generally respected each other. Perot was much more in-line with Bush and the Republican party. Low taxes, pro business, ect. And yea, they both attacked Bush. Perot attacked him trying to take Republican votes from Bush, which he was successful in doing. It's hard to know exactly how many Perot voters would have voted for Bush, it's pretty much a guess on anyones part and my guess is Perot took a lot more votes from Bush than Clinton.
  22. QUOTE(Gregory Pratt @ Aug 2, 2006 -> 04:10 PM) I think that's the second time I've seen you use that line it is wtf, lowercase
  23. QUOTE(Rex Kickass @ Aug 2, 2006 -> 01:11 PM) You mean innocent until proven guilty, right? well unless you play lacross or somethin
  24. QUOTE(Dick Allen @ Aug 1, 2006 -> 07:00 PM) Too Cub fan-esque. Leave the o-meter signs and the throwing of opposition homers, occassional foulballs, and garbage on the field to the morons in the dump on the northside.
  25. QUOTE(Gregory Pratt @ Aug 1, 2006 -> 04:17 PM) Bull. Perot took votes from Clinton just as much as Bush. Otherwise is a bogus myth. you are incorrect, my friend.
