QUOTE(whitesoxmanager @ Jul 27, 2005 -> 03:27 PM) Mike Sweeney is an awesome guy! I met him in spring training last year...seriously don't hate him for long...I always liked him as a player. This series is so pitiful. I just sit here and think what the real KC Royals team would look like if they spent the cheese on players...? dye, beltran, and damon would all make things happen. they havent really produced many pitchers... paul byrd comes to mind.

if we lose this game it could start a tail spin that will end with a shotgun in my mouth.

QUOTE(YASNY @ Jul 27, 2005 -> 03:17 PM) Two interesting bits of info from the ESPN crew. First, Buehrle and Garland have a bet going on who allows the fewest unintentional walks this season. They are currently tied at 26. I love this!!!! Second, if Garland gets this win, he will be one of 4 pitchers to get 16 wins in his first 20 starts of a season. The others ... Luis Tiant, Vida Blue, Bob Gibson. Not bad company. Bob Gibson was s***ty

QUOTE(RockRaines @ Jul 27, 2005 -> 03:09 PM) Dye is a beast lately, I dont know why everyone is thinking of just throwing an aquired bat in his place in RF. yeah, dye = best power presence on our team. btw your avatar is the s***.

QUOTE(southsider2k5 @ Jul 27, 2005 -> 03:07 PM) If you have a problem with that, you have a problem with official scoring. That is the way the rules are written. i have a problem with life, then, dammit.

QUOTE(southsider2k5 @ Jul 27, 2005 -> 03:00 PM) It depends on what happens afterwards. You can't assume the guy was going to be out, so if the guy after him hits a HR, the run is earned because he would have scored anyway. you cant assume the guy afterwards wouldnt stike out...

QUOTE(KevHead0881 @ Jul 27, 2005 -> 02:48 PM) After seeing how he plays us, every time I see his stats at the end of the year I'm amazed he isn't batting .375 with 60 HR's and 180 RBI's. .402 86 HR 235 RBI would be a typical season if he played us 162 games

QUOTE(CYGarland @ Jul 27, 2005 -> 02:53 PM) Yeah, how can you charge 3 errors but no unearned runs? exactly... the commissioner should have a look at that one.

when i saw buehrle was charged with 7, i couldn't help but laugh. obviously, that was an attempt to drive his ERA up, bc there were so many errors! Uribe's throw home should have been an out... the inside the park grand slam (i guess thats what you have to call it since they were all earned). Just complete bulls***!

Is Kenny manipulating the market
QUOTE(thedoctor @ Jul 27, 2005 -> 10:46 AM) i would hope he is working it. if he drives up the price of a few guys he really isn't interested in, then good for him. f*** those other teams. I don't think so. I think that KW genuinely enjoys being viewed as the GM in baseball most able to complete a trade, and I think has actual interest in each of the players he has looked into. Being the "Master of Trades" as KW has been, it wouldn't be a good idea to piss off GMs around the league.
-
Who would be the best?
I'd have to go with Huff.. a high average and his power would increase in the cell to where it normally is. He's my dream. Our pitching is good, we need offense!

The AJ Burnett Rumor Mill II
QUOTE(southsider2k5 @ Jul 27, 2005 -> 11:51 AM) Like he did with the Yankees for Garcia last year? No, because we got our man. I don't think giving up Miguel Olivo (hahaha!) and Jeremy Reed is too much for Freddy. That was cheap!

Ross Gload = Lyle Overbay
QUOTE(SoxFan1 @ Jul 27, 2005 -> 11:48 AM) Since when does this team need a power hitter? WE DONT! PK....look at him. All he does is hit HR's OCCASIONALLY. Overbay is a doubles hitter with good power mixed in. If you want power, congrats because his HR's will go up playing in the Cell. He is an average hitter and THE perfect #3 or #5 hitter for this lineup. thank you soxfan. overbay would be a great fit, high avg, obp, translate into runs... how many tiems does PK come up with men on 2nd and 3rd with two out and hit a pop up? Overbay hits singles and doubles in those situations.
