  1. I apologize if this has already been asked, but what do you think it would've taken for the Sox to have acquired Rasmus. Jackson + ? + ? + ?
  2. QUOTE (Balta1701 @ Jul 27, 2011 -> 07:21 PM) Didn't we sweep Boston in Boston? true, true. but man...their offense is ON FIRE right now.
  3. I think we'll take 2 of 3 from BOS, only because we seem incapable of sweeping anyone and Ozzie is bound to leave Humber in there for 3 too many batters in a low scoring game against Lester. What does that do to the tradescape?
  4. QUOTE (JoeCoolMan24 @ Jul 27, 2011 -> 03:36 PM) There is no way we get Dominic Brown for CQ. you're right, got carried away.
  5. QUOTE (Quinarvy @ Jul 27, 2011 -> 03:28 PM) Kenny needs to pillage the Braves or Phillies systems for Q. I'm a big CQ fan but Dom Brown? wow...wow wow wow.
  6. we should be more concerned that the bears are looking hard at signing Roy Williams. I'll slit my wrists...
  7. wouldn't the deal have to be sweetened to get Brown? I don't see straight up for CQ. Remember, he's the "total package"
  8. QUOTE (greg775 @ Jul 27, 2011 -> 02:27 PM) I didn't see the game. Obviously excellent pitching. Sale was fantastic.
  9. QUOTE (Stan Bahnsen @ Jul 27, 2011 -> 02:23 PM) I mentioned this the other day, but I'll say it again here. I LOVE the fact that Ozzie is finishing games with the matchups he deems best, instead of being a slave to the ridiculous statistical construct we know as a save. This is the advantage of having an un-established closer. All managers should do this, but don't, because established closers have save incentives all over their contracts. Today I'm only mad at him for leaving Morel on the bench and running Danks out in the 7th. I applaud the start of de Aza. The offense did their best to let Danksy down.
  10. poof don't do anything oz - keep him out there. please.
  11. best pure stuff on our staff, not prone to injury, always took the ball. Wish we could've re-signed him. What a gift we gave Arizona.
  12. QUOTE (Steve9347 @ Jul 27, 2011 -> 08:51 AM) Toronto is getting a could-be elite young outfielder for our f***ing property. I imagine a future built around Rasmus, Beckham, and Viciedo, and yeah, I'm f***ing angry. I'd be angry if Gordon Beckham were a cornerstone too.
  13. QUOTE (BigSqwert @ Jul 27, 2011 -> 08:38 AM) **goes to peak at the "In or Out" thread to look at the additional "Out" votes** I'm delighted to see mark teahen no longer wearing a sox uni but trading EJAX, our 2nd best pitcher this season, says we're not in this to win it. Might as well keep dumping now. Too bad Konerko had to re-sign to be part of Ken Williams' worthless vision.
  14. After what we saw from peavy and knowing that Humber is hitting a wall I can't believe anyone wants to see the sox subtract from their strength. Not unless a 5-4 loss to the best pitcher in the league has you hitting the eject button.
  15. My bad for not being clear. I'm all for a statue for Frank, and I'm not sayin I want one for Jermaine Dye, I just want the sox to step up and honor the guy now that he's officially retired. Wouldn't take much, and besides, didn't they already have a Frank Thomas love fest last year?
