QUOTE (Balta1701 @ Jun 4, 2010 -> 06:49 PM) And there goes that game. D1 just seems to get himself into a nasty inning in every start lately

Anyone else impressed with the way this team has stayed together despite the horrific play? I'm not looking for silver linings but it does seem like there are some real good characters on this team, and good chemistry to boot. I know it doesn't mean s*** if the team plays like crap, so you can save your breath there. I'm just saying it's nice to see that they still remain a pretty solid unit that hasn't given up on themselves, despite everything that's gone wrong.

QUOTE (Balta1701 @ Jun 3, 2010 -> 04:07 PM) Their ERA's and WHIP are nearly identical in May. 4.76/4.79 ERA, 1.52/1.49 WHIP (Garcia then Danks). D1 pitched more innings, gave up only 2 HR while Garcia gave up 5, D1 walked more and struck out more hitters. The only difference is Garcia went 4-1 while D1 went 1-4. And I'm going to hurt you if you try to blame that on D1. I call it a draw. By the who pitched better in May standard, Mark Buehrle actually put up a 4.03 ERA and 1.31 WHIP in May. I wouldn't dare to that, given the weak run support all around. I don't think Freddy's a better pitcher, just pitching the best right now on our staff.

QUOTE (SoxAce @ Jun 3, 2010 -> 03:07 PM) Add Trayce Thompson getting 4 pins on his right thumb when he gets surgery (luckally he won't be out the season) to the other injuries and this is shaping up to be a terrific season for the sox organization. At least Mitchell is saying that he's ahead of schedule and looks to be back by September.

QUOTE (Palehosefan @ Jun 2, 2010 -> 07:00 PM) Rangers announcers didn't even show the replay, was he out at 1st as well? good throw from 30 feet would've got him, instead it was bounced....

QUOTE (Heads22 @ Jun 2, 2010 -> 06:13 PM) I'm not sure why this game is pushing me over the sell barrier, but it is. me too, but wouldn't it be best to sell as late as possible to the deadline?

QUOTE (Balta1701 @ Jun 2, 2010 -> 01:36 PM) Well, as a team, the Sox are hitting .227 with RISP. That'd be pretty bad, but there is a bright spot; they're hitting .240 overall. So it's not just a situational hitting problem; it's a sucky hitting overall problem. seems like it's been the case for years

Joe Cowley says our season is over: do you agree?
QUOTE (fathom @ Jun 1, 2010 -> 07:30 PM) It was over two weeks ago. Twins have played a tougher schedule than we have, and now they have Kubel starting to heat up. Plain and simple, they're a better team than the Sox. and so are the tigers - i think it will be a great race. The Tigers pitching could get a lot better and you have to be impressed with how Leyland is handling their rookies.
