  1. on the bright side, that lead lasted a good fifteen minutes
  2. whats new - markakis always seems to murder the sox
  3. QUOTE (fathom @ Jul 17, 2009 -> 05:32 PM) Warning track power has carried over from before the break, I see.
  4. QUOTE (Cali @ Jul 17, 2009 -> 05:21 PM) I can't believe how slow JD is.... but the trade-off's not so bad
  5. QUOTE (NorthSideSox72 @ Jul 17, 2009 -> 11:43 AM) If we keep Wise around, and send out Fields or Anderson instead, on TCQ's return, I am going to be very unhappy. "unhappy" is only scratching the surface for me. Is baseball the only sport where the defense controls the ball? Go you White Sox!
  6. I'm surprised there hasn't been more speculation on who goes away when he does get activated. Is it just a forgone conclusion that it's Wise?
  7. QUOTE (santo=dorf @ Jul 15, 2009 -> 08:04 PM) So Obama was booed because of his Sox jacket, yet George W. Bush in his video was cheered because HE IS THE SINGLE GREATEST AMERICAN OF ALL TIME (after Steve McQueen!! Fill in the blank.
  8. Nellie Fox must've been awesome
  9. when will the Sox make a decision on CQ and the subsequent roster move? Any thoughts?
  10. QUOTE (whitesoxfan101 @ Jul 12, 2009 -> 03:03 PM) I understand we are kind of stuck with him there for the rest of this year, but unless some sort of drastic change occurs, I don't think we can keep Gordon Beckham at 3rd base after 2009. His bat isn't as valuable over there, and his fielding looks awful. I understand he's never played there before this year and is trying to learn at the major league level, but he has very poor reaction times on hard hit balls to him, and I'm not sure if that is something you can teach. couldn't disagree more
  11. One thing's for certain, they've already defied quite a few of the prognosticators. I think the Sox move into 1st place in the first week back from the break and never look back. I'm serious - today's sucky loss aside, this team has been playing some really good baseball for a solid month now. This isn't them being "hot", this is who they are. congrats to you, detroit - you won the first half of the season. go have a parade.
  12. QUOTE (TheBigHurt @ Jul 12, 2009 -> 01:52 PM) Ridiculous overreactions; the reason I love Soxtalk so much. that's why i'm here, glad i could help. A sarcastic remark in the midst of a blowout? How dare me!
  13. seriously though, 8 runs in the dome can easily be made up in the last two innings.
  14. thank god mauer is such a s***ty batter
  15. gordo's having a helluva game
  16. toyed with by the mediocre twins.
  17. Pena is very impressive. Good pick up, Kenny.
  18. pitching really let us down in this series.
  19. how many more games left in this s*** hole? god i can't wait to watch the twinkies and their fans freezing their asses off until late May at home games.
  20. QUOTE (whitesoxfan99 @ Jul 12, 2009 -> 01:01 PM) He has been terrible. But it can't be easy to learn a difficult position on the fly in the major leagues. and he doesn't take it to the plate with him, which is a good sign as well. Did you read that article about him today in the sun times? he's quite the competitor.
  21. taking our lumps - going to be that way all season. but in the end, gordo will be great
