  1. QUOTE (TitoMB345 @ Jun 6, 2009 -> 12:24 PM) Ozzie Guillen is one of the 5 worst managers in baseball. I am so sick and tired of his bulls***. If we do ONE thing next offseason, it needs to be s*** canning this tool. that's going to be a tough sell, especially if they win the division again this year. Because as hard as it is to believe, this team is 3.5 games out of first with a 5 game series coming up against the division leader. I'm not suggesting they're going to turn it around this week, but I don't think anyone is going to runaway with this division. It's a weird situation.
  2. QUOTE (fathom @ Jun 6, 2009 -> 11:54 AM) It's pretty obvious that Ozzie didn't want to call Beckham up. couldn't agree more. and now that i think of it, if i was a fan paying to come out and watch this terrible play, the least I would want is to see Beckham play.
  3. QUOTE (fathom @ Jun 6, 2009 -> 11:48 AM) Link contains Ozzie's "excuses" for not playing Beckham. What a load of crap. http://blogs.chicagosports.chicagotribune....p-saturday.html I do agree with him that it was unfortunate that he came up when everyone was sucking big time.
  4. QUOTE (fathom @ Jun 5, 2009 -> 06:12 PM) Hell of a job by Danks to keep us in this game. That could be a momentum starter. red alert - a sox pitcher just pitched over a serious error.
  5. when we win the division, will we all be laughing about games like this?
  6. QUOTE (fathom @ Jun 5, 2009 -> 06:02 PM) Danks is up in the zone with everything. He's significantly more lost than Floyd is. by far. but again, he's really young and really talented. I have no doubts he'll be fine.
  7. QUOTE (Reddy @ Jun 5, 2009 -> 05:58 PM) a complete game strikeout? hey, you may be onto something
  8. QUOTE (fathom @ Jun 5, 2009 -> 05:57 PM) Totally agree...at least he was exciting to watch hit. At least Pods Looking is back. for one pitch an at bat
  9. Danks is still young and very much a work in progress. I have to keep reminding myself of that.
  10. ah yes, the lead off walk makes its nightly appearance.
  11. George Brett was the best pure hitter I ever saw, but I still can't stand the guy. The Royals used to own the Sox.
  12. Brian starting against a righthander? Someone around here is making sacrifices to Jobu.
  13. I was surprised to read that not only was he called up but that he's been given the starting job at 3B and will stay there even if he struggles. Josh Fields will spell him occasionally and play some 1B and LF. Fields was not too happy, it sounds like.
