  1. QUOTE(Jordan4life_2005 @ Sep 11, 2005 -> 12:55 PM) Against non elite teams. We were basically winning those games against the Indians, when they were struggling, Tigers, Royals, ect. Were 3-4 vs Boston, 4-5 vs. Anaheim, 3-3 vs the YAnks, 2-7 vs Oakland, and 10-3 vs Cleveland. That equates to a .500 mark of 22-22. Not to bad i say..........We are obviously not going to blow teams away, so our pitching has to carry us, which it hasn't been as much in the 2nd half........BUehrle and GArland carried this team in the 1st half, and they both have losing records in the 2nd. These guys have to get it going again if we have any chance in the playoffs.
  2. QUOTE(Gene Honda Civic @ Sep 11, 2005 -> 12:51 PM) You weren't there. Nah. I couldn't catch the red eye out of LAX this weekend.
  3. QUOTE(Jordan4life_2005 @ Sep 11, 2005 -> 12:49 PM) Sup everybody. I was gonna wait until after the game to post, but I seriously can't watch this crap right now. We are on the verge of an epic late season collapse right now. Don't worry. After this game we get to face the Central the rest of the way..........THANK GOD!!
  4. QUOTE(fathom @ Sep 11, 2005 -> 12:49 PM) Can't say I did. I was watching the Bears debacle. Was it close to going out? near the warning track.
  5. Did you see how far that ball carried?? And Gload hit it off the end of the bat the other way!!
  6. QUOTE(fathom @ Sep 11, 2005 -> 12:45 PM) It tells you that our pitchers are making some terrible pitches. True, that doesn't help either. But The Cell is a launching pad right now, and were not taking advantage of it.
  7. QUOTE(fathom @ Sep 11, 2005 -> 12:41 PM) Why isn't it carrying for the Sox then? I know. But when Figgins has 2 homers in 2 straight games, and just missed another one, it makes you wonder.
  8. Figgins JUST missed a 3 run dong. WOW has the ball been REALLY carrying this weekend.
  9. QUOTE(SnB @ Sep 11, 2005 -> 12:37 PM) i know, i know. i went to my share of games during the summer, and now i'm at school and won't be going back down except for playoff games, hopefully. so i for one, will not complain about attendance. I seriously expected no less than 30,000 for every game. Oh Well
  10. Meanwhile Duque is getting POUNDED. GET HIM OUTOF THERE DAMMIT!!!!!!!
  11. QUOTE(SnB @ Sep 11, 2005 -> 12:34 PM) bears game. What about Friday and Yesterday? 28,000 and 26,000 respectively. Thats' unacceptable for a weekend matchup against a potential playoff opponent
  12. QUOTE(fathom @ Sep 11, 2005 -> 12:31 PM) Not a full house at the game today, is it? NOPE. Looks like alot of people have jumped off the bandwagon thanks to our wonderful August
  13. QUOTE(fathom @ Sep 11, 2005 -> 12:23 PM) We still have 6 games left against the Indians, who are playing better than anyone in baseball. Well we HAVE owned them this year. Of course that was before they got REAL hot..................Let's be honest here, if this team can't beat the Angels or Cleveland or even Minny, We don't deserve to make the playoffs.
  14. QUOTE(fathom @ Sep 11, 2005 -> 12:17 PM) And just hope that a lot of people get fired if this team doesn't make the playoffs. Don't worry we should make the playoffs. We have an 8 game lead in the WC if we fail to hold the Division. And Oakland still has to play Cleveland, and the YAnkees have some more games w/ the BOSox....... I'm more worried were going to be 1 and out again come playoffs :banghead
  15. Meanwhile, the Angels are laughing at us in there dugout. This is a JOKE
  16. It's amazing how the Angels weren't hitting for s*** before they came in here, and now there just POUNDING are pitchers .BTW, 3-0 NOW!!!!!!!! WAKE UP OZZIE!!!!!!!!
  17. WOW. GET DUQUE THE f*** OUT OF THER BEFORE ITS TOO LATE!!!!!!!!!!
  18. QUOTE(fathom @ Sep 11, 2005 -> 11:34 AM) Yep....about 5 games too late. I also serverely disagree with the plan of putting McCarthy into the game as a long reliever. If he's going to pitch, it should be as a starter. No reason to put him in a situation where he doesn't have a lot of experience just because Duque is washed up. I thought McCarthy maybe should have started this game to see how he would fare against them if he possibly faced em in the playoffs.......... Also to help avoid the DREADED sweep
  19. QUOTE(greg775 @ Sep 9, 2005 -> 07:12 PM) It's still against baseball's unwritten "rulebook." It takes balls to put the lead run on base. w/ 2 outs and Benji Molina on deck? Smartest decision Oz has made all year
  20. GET.............BUEHRLE............OUT................OF.................THERE...................... NOW!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
  21. QUOTE(BigSqwert @ Sep 9, 2005 -> 06:38 PM) Although I want to agree with you it seems like he is more of a borderline ace and #2 guy. He is an ace on quite a few staffs, but not playoff ones. IMO
  22. QUOTE(greg775 @ Sep 9, 2005 -> 06:36 PM) Buehrle is not an ace. He dominates mediocre teams, but gets hammered by good ones. Bulls***. He's been one of the best pitchers in baseball the last many seasons. Check the stats
