  1. QUOTE(fathom @ Sep 18, 2005 -> 11:02 AM) ARod homers, making it 4-2 Blue Jays in the 3rd inning. Bottom 3 now, 4-2 BJ's
  2. QUOTE(fathom @ Sep 18, 2005 -> 10:55 AM) Does Mike Sweeney really hate the Sox this much? He's been worthless against the Indians this series. It's us against the world my man

  5. Toronto making a BIG comeback vs NY, now 11-9 in the 7th!!
  6. Baker has not pitched past the 6th inning this year. Just a little testament as to how bad our offense is at taking pitches, and gettin ob for that matter.
  7. QUOTE(Balta1701 @ Sep 16, 2005 -> 06:51 PM) No AJ, No Hermanson, No 5th starter for 1/2 of the year. So basically no 1st pitch grounders to 1st, no blown saves against KC, and no 5+ era.
  8. QUOTE(WSoxMatt @ Sep 16, 2005 -> 06:43 PM) 6-4-3 CLEVELAND WINS 3-1 At least their's a silver lining there. The Tribe were held to only 3 runs by the mighty KC staff.
  9. This is looking fairly reminiscent of the last few years :banghead
  10. QUOTE(Balta1701 @ Sep 16, 2005 -> 06:41 PM) Frighteningly, our offense is actually not that bad, we're still like 12th or 13th in the league in runs scored. Not the Red Sox, but certainly not terrible. The problem with our offense is that it is still hugely home-run driven...we're 3rd in teh AL in home runs, which is the antethisis of what Ozzie ball was supposed to be. We've been surprisingly bad this season at manufacturing runs against good pitching. When you look at a team like the Angels, who have scored virtually the same number of runs as us, they've done it with far fewer home runs, but a lot more base hits. Our guys are swinging for the fences. When pitchers throw balls that they can hit, it works like dynamite. But when the pitcher moves things around and keeps our guys off balance, they look really bad, because they just have not been good at manufacturing things. Keep in mind we also play in a homer haven park. When guys like Figgins and Erstad go deep in the same game,you know something's not right........I'm not saying ouroffense is BAD, were just not good. Were mediocre at best. IMO
  11. well at least Boston is losing 2-1. And Toronto is making a comeback, now 11-7.
  12. QUOTE(southsideirish71 @ Sep 16, 2005 -> 06:34 PM) It might be nice if our hitters would take a pitch and make this kid work. Arow, Uribe and others are swinging at the first pitch. There was an inning earlier where it was 2 pitches and 2 outs. Our offense is just not that good. If our pitching and Defense doesn't step it up were going to be looking at a humiliating offseason.
  13. QUOTE(fathom @ Sep 16, 2005 -> 06:11 PM) 2 pitches, 2 outs We have TOO many 1st pitch hitters for a contending team.
  14. Coop and Guillen look like they haven't been sleeping well lately.
  15. QUOTE(maggliopipe @ Sep 16, 2005 -> 06:02 PM) ole boy torii hunter over on the twins broadcast saying he hopes cleveland sweeps the sox and overtake the sox. also says if the sox make the playoffs, he's pulling for them 100%.
  16. QUOTE(fathom @ Sep 16, 2005 -> 05:59 PM) PK absolute just missed that pitch. A week ago, and it's 4-0. A simple basehit there would have been fine
  17. QUOTE(fathom @ Sep 16, 2005 -> 05:57 PM) Time for PK in the 3rd hole to pay dividends. ugh
  18. Crede walks. Great, now Pods won't leadoff next inning.
