  1. QUOTE(CWSOX45 @ Aug 20, 2006 -> 01:13 PM) I'm just praying our offense can get SOMETHING going in the next 3 innings. But according to Freddy, Javy "kept us in the game, the offense has to score runs" The only one that stands out in my mind that they didnt win was against Detroit..... You better pray a ton
  2. QUOTE(CWSOX45 @ Aug 20, 2006 -> 01:09 PM) God dammit. This is why we HAD to win game 1. We really are fortunate that we didn't get swept this series... Game 1 was the swing game IMO, but Garcia "Mr Big game Pitcher" didnt show up, and our offense let Boof off the hook.
  3. QUOTE(kwolf68 @ Aug 20, 2006 -> 01:07 PM) Texas only needs to get through 1 more inning in Detroit..and their lead would remain at 5.5 .... like our game 1 matchup tomorrow (jose v. a very gased Verlander) I like our chances against Detroit in this series. Seems like the Twins are the Team we need to worry more about right now.
  4. QUOTE(cgaudin @ Aug 20, 2006 -> 01:04 PM) Everyone here sounds surprised that the Sox are gettin' their butts handed to them. Santana owns the Sox, first of all. Second, "Half-game" Vasquez has been his usual 5 run per outing pitcher. Like I said, it will be a moral victory if we get 3 runs off this mote. Santana has been hittable today, but our offense just sucks right now. And our D this game has sucked as well. Not to mention that Javy has made some bad pitches at the wrong time........Piss poor performanc today all around i would say
  5. QUOTE(elrockinMT @ Aug 20, 2006 -> 12:59 PM) I was going to pst this same question, but you beat me to it Colorado. We get an absolutely suberb performance from Garland and what do we have the next game? Vazquez and his inability toa void the big inning and mst liely last longer than 5 innings. Friday we get another 10 hit/5 run performance from Garcia. There has been some real frustrating things this year, but none more than the failure of our pitching. Couple that with defensive miscues both mental and physical and you get a team in danger of not getting to the playoffs. The pitching and defense this year has been far from stellar. KW definitely needs to shore up these problems in the offseason. We need a new LF, backup C, Possible SS, and a top flight starter.
  6. At this point I wouldnt mind seeing a few Twins hitters get hit. At least it would make this game more interesting.......
  7. Where was that pitch? This ump f***ing sucks
  8. QUOTE(G&T @ Aug 20, 2006 -> 12:50 PM) Why is Javy still out there? If we cant score off Santana, does it really matter? Might as well save our BP for the Detroit series, where we need to do everything possible to win each game
  9. QUOTE(soxyess @ Aug 20, 2006 -> 12:48 PM) when was the last time thome hit a HR? Or PK for that matter? These guys need to get it going if we have any chance in this race
  10. Another runner stranded. This $hit is getting old
  11. QUOTE(CWSOX45 @ Aug 20, 2006 -> 12:36 PM) Wow talk about being in a s***ty place....we either hit off Santana, or we make him throw more pitches...and try to hit off the Twins bullpen....either way it's not gonna be easy... When your facing Santana, you gotta bring your A game. Well the Sox definitely havent done that today.............. And now Thome k's. And BTW, What happened to our Vaunted middle of the lineup lately. Besides Dye, they have not looked good to say the least
  12. QUOTE(fathom @ Aug 20, 2006 -> 12:28 PM) That inning symbolizes a lot of our problems this year. Leadoff guy gets on, you get a 2 out hit, and you still don't score after the called 3rd strike. Our offense is so station2station its not even funny. When we dont hit Hr's we have a tough time scoring
  13. another runner stranded in scoring position.
  14. we desperately need a basehit right here. CMON SANDY!
  15. QUOTE(fathom @ Aug 20, 2006 -> 12:19 PM) He still gave up 4 rocket hits that inning. Well Pk started the innig with an error, after striking out to end the last one with a risp. And the Ball Bartlett hit to LF, could have been caught by a competent LF......... Not saying Javy's not to blame, but he sure didnt get much help Defensively
  16. QUOTE(fathom @ Aug 20, 2006 -> 12:18 PM) Contreras has been anything but consistent over the past few months. Much more than the rest of those guys. Except Freddy, he's usually consistent at pitching 6 innings and giving up 4 runs
  17. QUOTE(Dick Allen @ Aug 20, 2006 -> 12:17 PM) It is really difficult as a lifelong Sox fan to watch games Vazquez is pitching. You know its just a matter of time. There was little chance of winning this game anyway unless Santana's blister got real bad, but Vazquez took any drama out of it pretty early today. I think Vazquez has had the lead in all but 2 of his starts this season. A good pitcher would be contending for the Cy Young with the support he's gotten. Cant totally blame Javy for this one, PK has had a rough game, and Pablo's D in LF has been far from impressive.
  18. QUOTE(Dick Allen @ Aug 20, 2006 -> 12:13 PM) We know one thing that is automatic. If Vazquez or Garcia or even Buerhle most of the time now are pitching, and the Sox score in an inning, the opposition will surely score their next AB. When anyone of those guys start, its a crapshoot. Jose and Jon are the only consistent pitchers we have. Its gonna be tough down the stretch thats for sure.........Alright we need to try and chip away here, we still have a SLIGHT chance in this one, but we cant afford to give up anymore runs
  19. JAvy Imploding Big Time. What else is new
  20. he threw him a meat ball and got away with it. Alright, change down and away, and hope he bites
  21. I'd be careful with Punto here, with Redmond on deck, and the DP in order
