Come on Thome, get a hit .
-
This board would be all over Crede if he would of missed a soft liner 3 feet away from him.
-
Hawk keeps blaming the umpire, but if Pauly had any defensive skills this inning would of been over. That play at first base is made 99 out of one hundred times, and unfortunately we are the ones that do not make that play.
-
We just cant catch the ball.
-
Good effort Crede
-
I'm sorry but Paul has to make that play, he is not doing crap on offense the least he can do is pitch in on defense.
-
Konerko has cement feet.
-
If Thome could only turn into Baines .

QUOTE (Capn12 @ May 3, 2008 -> 02:56 PM) Good question, the offense overall is my enemy right now, its pathetic. You can start with your hero's on your sig, especially the guy on the right and left.
-
He just called out the whole offense besides Carlos. "They need to get their heads out of their asses and start hitting"
-
Ozzie just said it, all those guys dont need coaching, they need to start hitting.

QUOTE (southsideirish71 @ May 3, 2008 -> 02:51 PM) Sure because the corpseball kids will have the best thing for their bats to get going, a good dose of Doc Halladay. Holy crap, you just ruined my Sunday even before the day.. didnt know we had Holliday tomorrow.

QUOTE (elrockinMT @ May 3, 2008 -> 02:46 PM) No one player loses a game for the whole team. But, we are in blame mode. For Some reason we seem to think Joe Crede or whoever the goat of the game is for today did this on purpose. This team is not playing good ball period. Bottom line, we still need to score more runs that the opponent. I know the errors don not help, but this offense has put us in rut right now.

QUOTE (Capn12 @ May 3, 2008 -> 02:43 PM) I just want to say, thanks again Joe Crede, for some real f***tardery defense. Its not often that someone can lose back to back games with their defense. We would of lost yesterday , even if he dint make that error. Jays would of scored eventually and we would of just prolonged our pop up and strike out show.
-
We really need to find a way to win tomorrow. There clean up hitter had 3 hits and 3 rbis and no homers?
-
Nice play by Rios.
-
Now if we can crank 3 doubles in a row... that would be nice.

QUOTE (ROC Sox Fan @ May 3, 2008 -> 02:18 PM) Only FOUR more to go! I can't take this. I'm attempting to get into Canada tomorrow. Contreras needs me! If the Mounties won't let me in, at least I can catch Fields and Owens in Buffalo hopefully. LOL, good luck bud.

QUOTE (Chisoxfn @ May 3, 2008 -> 02:11 PM) That is what I would do. Get Fields up and ready and slowly turn to getting the next player moved. I'd be keying in on a stud SS prospect, a stud young outfielder, and a stud pitching prospect (who you could pencil behind Floyd/Danks). Oh, I would still have interest working something with the Dodgers involving Billingsley (he's not had that great of a start to the season). If you don't get a SS, move Thome/Konerko and than Contreras in the off-season (or at the deadline if the club is out of it) and make a massive push at Furcal to jump into the offense (cause this team can still compete next year, hell I think even with moving Paulie/Thome, you can compete this year, but you'd have to be able to get enough teams to help you out and be willing to trade relatively early in the season which is a bit tough). Thats why I hope the Red Sox are behind someone when the deadline approaches but fairly close. They can use a guy like Thome in desperation and might give us something.
-
Knowing the Sox they will trade the guy that just hit the homer.

QUOTE (fathom @ May 3, 2008 -> 02:09 PM) I think he's the next Matt Thornton (and that's not really a bad thing). He can be a power lefty set-up man. I really hope we got more than a set up man for a 1st rnd pick.

QUOTE (Chisoxfn @ May 3, 2008 -> 02:03 PM) A healthy Dye has a very good approach. He gets cold but he's really the least of the squads worries. I'd make moves to try and get building blocks that are major league ready and consider moving Dye to LF or DH after dealing Paulie/Thome (with the idea you get two young potential stars out of the deal and 1-2 B prospects). Dye/Swisher/Quentin becomes your knew 3/4/5 and you find a leadoff hitter. AJ stays at 6, Crede at 7 and you slide Fields and other guys acquired into the lineup. Clearly it is all speculative, but Kenny could do far worse than moving those two guys becuase if you clear them the team gets a lot younger and should actually get more talented (long term, short term you take risks but again I say they haven't produced nor have we won recently anyway so try to build a more defensive base/speed lineup with younger guys who should continue to improve (which will fit since you are building a rotation around guys like Javy/Mark who still have a couple years left, plus Floyd/Danks who are getting better and better and maybe one other young prospect like Broadway or someone acquired via trade). The Sox rotation is rock solid, so why not try to retools the offense to something that can actually improve as opposed to an offense that is only getting worse. I mentioned that a week or so ago and was jumped on how we cant trade guys with such good OPS and on their past accomplishments. I suggested, trade one at at ime and when one goes, be it Thome or Konerko.. bring up Fields and have play 1st or DH.

QUOTE (fathom @ May 3, 2008 -> 02:03 PM) I'm really concerned KW will panic now and trade Fields and Poreda for Roberts. He better no do that, that solves nothing as he needs to Trade either Konerko or Thome.

QUOTE (the People's Champ @ May 3, 2008 -> 02:01 PM) I can wish can't I? ya never know till Kenny tries.
