  2. QUOTE (Palehosefan @ Jul 10, 2010 -> 12:25 PM) I don't like defending him, but Redick has turned himself into a Ray Allen type hustle defender. He's constantly chasing his man around the screens and sticking with him. He's not a liability on defense, he's average now. He will get beat by quicker 2G's, but so will many. good point
  3. Lebron just said "this will be easy" when they introduced him, and then they start dancing like total jack asses.

Have a dog (German Sheppard and Grey hound mix) good looking dog. Adopted as a puppy , myself and my wife (mostly my wife) trained him beyond belief. Our Dog rings jingle bells when he wants to go outside or a cookie. Rings the doorbell when he wants to come in, it took a lot of time and patience but our dog has human characteristics. Currently thinking about adopting a younger companion for him so he can teach the puppy the ropes.
  5. Tuesdays Joe's crab shack $2 pitchers ,The Score on Forest preserve drive between Oak Park and Narraganset. Also like harry Carays on Higgins and Shoeless Joes on Higgins.
  6. QUOTE (nitetrain8601 @ May 31, 2009 -> 09:08 AM) Also, LeBron got off the team bus according to Craig Sager and didn't go back to the hotel with his teammates or even fly home. Instead, he called his mother and will be staying in Orlando for awhile with her. So apparently, the guy doesn't even care about his teammates. You win as a team, you lose as a team. His supporting cast being bad is a poor excuse because in the regular season, everyone was up in arms about how great of a supporting cast they have and how they are so great defensively. I never got why so many guys see him as classy. He took the Hummer in high school which his mother couldn't afford, He tatooed Chosen1 on his back and started calling himself King James. He also started doing stupid poses before each home game. If Kobe did that, people would be up in arms. LeBron does it any it's okay. Most guys that have him labeled him as classy , usually watch games from their tv and have no clue on what the guy is like if you seen him play in person for several games. I have seen James play close to 20 games in person and he does do things out of camera view that puts him no where near the top 50 classy guys in basketball. Guy has a huge ego (selfish), Jordan had a different kind of ego and I seen him play in person over 100 times. In Jordans case, he helped his teammates a bunch with defensive techniques on time outs. I always seen him as a coach out there, he was very animated sometimes but you could tell he really cared about the individual and the team most of all. Just saying , you dont see it all by just watching the tube, and to label an individual as that being your backing is just silly.
  7. QUOTE (knightni @ May 30, 2009 -> 08:08 PM) Not insane. Mr Sock Puppet told me so. LOL, post of the year.
  8. QUOTE (Balta1701 @ May 1, 2009 -> 10:53 AM) Outside of the 1st round, what series can you name that have been better? The Reggie Miller vs. NY series is the only one that comes to my mind as challenging it in the last 15 years. That was a good one, but the best I seen was the 91-92 playoffs Bulls Vs Knicks, being at those games was something I cant explain, the crowd was much louder than what we have now. I have been to the last 2 playoff games this year and they are some of the top ones I have ever attended or seen. Last night was just ridiculous to witness in person. I was watching Marburry waving his hands hysterically at Pierce not to foul Noah. Still the crowd does not come close to the 90-91 and 91-92 playoff games I attended. Oh yeah, I didn't hear to many expletives from Garnett Last night, he seemed mellow.
  9. You need good players that are able to execute, be it D line , linebackers and secondary. The game has evolved to more of a scheme game rather than individual or a certain cog of a defense. You really need everybody to be on the same page and execute. I have been fortunate to see some of the best Qb's play in person.. Marino, Elway, Montana and Kelly. I seen it when either one of these guys torched good d lines and torched good secondarys. but the fact in all of this , was that no matter how great these guys were, the Defense that had the better scheme always found a way to beat these greats, and it was not the team with the better D-line or secondary but scheme (A full team effort).
  10. QUOTE (rangercal @ Apr 26, 2009 -> 07:01 PM) what does screen plays have to do with the secondary? Talk about taking a left hand turn on this road of conversation. Ask Tom Brady and the 07 Pats what defensive line pressure does to your game. 1 game makes you point correct? Might as well ask Dan Marino in 85' when he torched the infamous Bears pass rush to a crisp and capatalized on their secondary not being able to stay with the route runners. The Giants secondary played a hell of a super bowl as well. If you watched closely, the Giants took advantage of a poor technique guard , the Patriots coaches lost that game not correcting that problem. I would say the Panther D-line was far superior than the Giants line of 07'. It all comes down to schemes and execution. Reason why more teams are running the 3-4 now do to the confusion the outside rushers cause, them being linebackers. But saying a D line is better than a good secondary is still preposterous.
  11. QUOTE (rangercal @ Apr 26, 2009 -> 06:50 PM) your logic is like having the best WR without a decent QB getting him the ball. It all starts at the line. Defensive line pressure > Secondary You can make it with a s***ty secondary if the qb has no time to throw, on the contrary, you can have an all pro secondary get burned if you have no pressure up front with the qb having 5-15 secs to throw a pass. Tell that to the Panthers when they played in the Super Bowl. The screen and other quick hitting plays counter your theory. Teams don't sit in the pocket for more than 3 seconds , and if they do that's because the secondary has done a great job in covering. Yes a good D-line helps but saying its better than a good secondary is preposterous.
  12. I think its just encouragement directed at Wise while he's going through his rehab. Don't know if any of you had a separated shoulder and had to get back to an athletic event, be it football or baseball. But the rehab really sucks ,It's down right painful and grueling. So don't get your panties in a bunch. If you had that injury and had to actually participate in an athletic event you would understand.
  13. Good win, liked the lineup. A.J. needs more time off.
  14. QUOTE (T R U @ Apr 25, 2009 -> 12:48 AM) Im pretty sure I just heard Buster Olney say that Egbert took one for the team tonight and after the game was sent down. Anyone else hear anything about this? "Took one for the team"? the dude is not MLB quality.
  15. Watching MASN the Orioles network and its coming down hard. Lightning and thunderstorm on the way from what they are saying, but could get the game in when it passes.
  16. drop the inactive players.
  17. QUOTE (Thunderbolt @ Apr 18, 2009 -> 07:15 PM) Yep, Q's wrist is going to be a problem this year. LOL, you have to love all the experts we are fortunate to have here.
