  1. I think Floyd will win the spot and post double digits in victories
  2. Yasny I agree with almost everything you stated in your post. The 2006 White Sox underachieved in many ways. If improvement occurs (which I think it will) in Pods, Uribe, BA & Vazquez the 07 Sox will be improved. The Twins have too many pitching holes & the Tigers pitchers could have the same issues as Sox pitchers in 06. If KW can make i more move to solidify either OF,SS or #5 starter, the Sox will be fine.
  3. Money is not an object for KW when he wants to make a splash. Johnson would allow patience for Danks, Floyd etc. Johnson, Floyd & Gio >>> Garcia Yankees may want a run at Clemens (to reunite with Pettitte) and would need to clear rotation spot & salary. This would make the Sox who are willing to spend money the ultimate trade partner for Johnson.
  4. D-Backs will not want the entire salary. He would probably take a place closer to home but would want a contender. If back healthy, this would be a major type move that KW loves to make (if not Clemens). It would also make more sense to the McCarthy move to open up a rotation spot for a year until the prospects are ready.
  5. KW was interested in Randy Johnson a few years ago. He could be a 1-2 stopgap to allow Danks, Gio, etc to mature. Johnson could make the staff better than last season if healthy.
  6. Could the Sox have interest in Erstad as a platoon with Anderson in CF? They had interest a few years ago.
  7. If talking about relievers, how about a low risk flyer on Keith Foulke if his option not picked up. If he were healthy, he would probably accept setup role and act as a potential insurance for days Jenks can't close.
  8. I agree BA should be in the lineup, but you need Uribe in lineup for his defense. Garland is a ground ball pitcher if he is on. Sox need this win for a good start in series.
  9. I agree with waiting until June/July to possibly trade Contreras to see if the Sox have needs. The Sox need to just make minor moves to shore up spots 23 - 25 on the roster for now.
  10. Taveras would not be an upgrade for the Sox. To trade Contreras would need Qualls and 2 top pitching prospects.
  11. If he can clear up the mess in Venezuela, Urbina could be a sleeper addition to the bullpen at a very cheap cost.
  12. QUOTE(103 mph screwball @ Dec 14, 2005 -> 07:55 PM) KW isn't dumping his championship team. He is building a dynasty. He is executing a hostile take over of the Chicago baseball market. Rowand leaving hurt. But it brought back a future hall of famer, Thome, who then was a factor in bringing back Konerko. Hernandez and Marte no longer fit. Viz was expendable. These players plus a very good prospect Young. In return he has gotten back the super utility, Sox fan, RMack and the potential #2 (hopefully after Cooper is done) Vasquez at 7.5 per with 3 years of rights. I'm sure Garland, Count, Crede, and other key players in the future will be given the opportunity to sign with the Sox at what KW feels they are worth and what the Sox can afford. He doesn't necessarily want to get rid of them. I'm sure KW understands their business decision. With this approach, he will lock up players with fair contracts. Players who want to stay with the Sox. Those that don't want to stay, he will trade for player who do want to be Sox or are locked into fair contracts. He's not letting players walk without getting something in return and at the same time he's building good team chemistry with players happy to be Sox. Freakin Brilliant if your ask me. I'm not too worried about the farm system either. How can KW keep trading away these prospects? He has an eye for diamonds in the rough. Guys like Jenks, Uribe, Owens ect. and he gets them cheap. Shingo and Iguchi have been impact players from Japan. Also do not forget that winning and building his dynasty will bring in more payroll money and the Sox will need fewer young cheap players I trust KW. He is the GM of the World Champions!! Great post. Kw is doing the right things to continue the Sox winning ways.
  13. I agree that Crawford is not untouchable. If the Sox would want Crawford, a package of solid prospects (mainly pitching) might get it done. I think the Sox would be better off signing Garland & Aj longterm with any extra money, let Anderson get first crack at CF and stregthen the bullpen with another LH setup reliever (Villone or Rincon)
  14. Why would TB want Gload & Harris who probably be non-tendered. TB has a glut of OF so they would want young pitching in any trade.

If the Cubs non-tender Patterson, he would be an inexpensive 4th OF
