Game Thread: Sox @ Rangers, 6:05 Start, Contreras v. Koronka
Got 3..could have been more though. So who is taking advantage of getting a break from Hawk and DJ and watching it on the ESPN?

Game Thread: Sox @ Rangers, 6:05 Start, Contreras v. Koronka
QUOTE(keninem @ Jun 12, 2006 -> 06:17 PM) why the f*** was konerko sent to third? I think it is because Hairston is in center...but all his momentum was carrying himself to 3rd. Not a particularly smart play.

What is Cora doing...Thome could have killed himself on that play.

HAWKINS?
I kinda agree with Balta on this one....but if would come cheap it would be an interesting option. He seems to have refound himself back in the AL, kind of the opposite of most pitchers.

Where is the heart???
QUOTE(whitesoxfan101 @ Jun 10, 2006 -> 10:15 PM) Where is the heart?? Well we seem to FINALLY have seen some the last 5 games. Have the Sox played well the last 5 games? Hell no, as a matter of fact we've played like complete s*** for the most part. But who cares, we've managed to go 4-1 and win 2 series against a couple of tough division rivals in Detroit and Cleveland. All 4 wins saw us win the game on late hits, with all kinds of heroes: Cintron, Dye, Ozuna, Mackowiak, Buehrle.....clutch hitting, some big outs from the pitchers, a little luck, not being afraid late in games, not giving up when something bad happens as a team, figuring out ways to win. The last 5 games from this team are the first time really all year where you can see some heart, see some balls, see some care. To go 4-1 in these games, considering how they have went and how we've played.....it's been almost all heart. So I must say I found my answer to the question that started this thread, and even though stretches like the last 5 games might put me into a f***ing crazy house......at least I see the heart and care and emotion there right now. Very well said....but I was never under the impression they were lacking heart....just execution. Like you said, their execution still has not been up to par but better in spots. Ozzie would never let this team quit like some posters have suggested they had...they were just executing even worse than the last 5 games. Bullpen still needs work...Jenks is still the only reliable reliever and the starters have yet to hit their stride. When this team does start hitting on all cylinders, well at least a couple cylinders, the rest of the league will have to take notice. Keep you faith Sox fans...step away from the ledges...it is a long season and don't question their heart as long as Ozzie is at the healm. Remember, he wanted to get rid of the guys who had no passion or heart....I seriously doubt Ozzie and Kenny will ever field a team that lacks heart.

Ozuna
ummm...if you think that Pablo's adventures in left field are bad...multiply them times 100 and then you would get Pablo's defense in center field. Pablo is perfect in the situation he is in now, playing 2 times a week via late-inning replacement and start at 3rd and left field.

6/10 Game Thread
QUOTE(fathom @ Jun 10, 2006 -> 01:16 PM) Back-to-back homers against Silva earlier this year. That's one of the rare times. Anderson just amazes me by having worse ABs every game. I was at last nights game and he looked horrible at the plate. He just seems to have no real approach when he goes up there.

QUOTE(Milkman delivers @ Jun 10, 2006 -> 01:12 PM) HOLY s*** Martinez has thrown out 5 people this year now, and one is Ozuna. He might have even thrown out Ozuna twice. I believe the 1st guy he threw out was either Ozuna or Pods earlier this year.

Luzinski...you can probably add Parque and Todd Ritchie to that list.

Game Thread: 6/7/06. Sox-Tigers, Contreras-Verlander, 7:05 start
Farmio just mentioned Jose's lack of a forkball and says a lot of pitchers find the forkball later in the game...hopefully that is the case.

QUOTE(fathom @ Jun 7, 2006 -> 07:35 PM) Contreras doesn't have his forkball so far. He's throwing almost 95 pct fastballs. It'll be interesting to see the type of success he'll have pitching like that. Probably not very....but there was a nice forkball.

QUOTE(TitoMB345 @ Jun 7, 2006 -> 07:31 PM) So, Im tired of these 2 on, no out situations and not scoring. It is really starting to bug me. Yup...execution has been terrible. Sox have been pretty good at the 1st part of the equation...getting them on...but the other 2/3rds of the equation has been lacking for awhile.

QUOTE(keninem @ Jun 7, 2006 -> 07:29 PM) I love Dye. He's going to be *the* guy snubbed this year in the ASG. Not if Ozzie has the chance to take him...but that depends on who he has to take from other teams.
