  1. Here's something to think about.... If the Sox were to trade someone like Buehrle, what do you do with players who have a short window on their effectiveness? I'm thinking specifically about Jim Thome. He still has trade value, but his real efffectiveness as a player is 1 maybe 2 more years.... Does it really make sense to keep him this year if you have traded 3 of your starting pitchers? Would he still make sense for the White Sox? I am not saying that they SHOULD trade Thome (before I get flamed, burnt, and toasted) just that it is something worth pondering. What do you think he would bring in return?
  2. QUOTE(tonyho7476 @ Jul 12, 2006 -> 10:14 AM) You might be crazy, but I like it. I'm rooting hard for your scenario. And I think Vazquez...HE GONE! Personally, I dont think Vasquez is the one who would be traded. I think Freddie is the next in line to go. If the Sox could net a solid to very good reliever and a good prospect with upside in return for Freddie it would make a lot of sense. You improve your bullpen by adding a good reliever and moving B-Mac ( who is not suited to relief) into a starting slot. I think you also improve the rotation because B-Mac (the starter) is a definite improvement over Freddie Garcia(version 2006). You also replenish the pipeline of minor league prospects. I dont know if vasquez is a better pitcher than Freddie rightnow, but he certainly has better "stuff"..
  3. QUOTE(Tony82087 @ Apr 12, 2006 -> 02:21 PM) Need to win every series. Tomorrow is just a bonus. However, they better win. I think its a 4 game series.
  4. Does anyone think Ryan Sweeney can sneak in and take the 5th outfielder's spot?
  5. Quick question. Ozzie has gone on record as saying that noneo f the leftys have been aggressive enough or has impressed him very much. Arnie Munoz ( to the best of my knowledge) has pitched 1 inning so far this spring and struck out 2 guys. I know Munoz has been very spotty during his carrer,, but has flashed some good potential at times in the minors, as well as being decent out of the pen a couple of times in the majors. My question is this. Does Ozzie have something against Munoz, or has he pre-determined that he just cant help the big club?

  7. According to WhiteSox.com Sox season ticket sales have surpassed 20,000 tickets sold per game. They are no longer selling full or partial season ticket plans with post season ticket priveleges attached. Sorry for not having a link, I dont know how to do that. Mark

  9. Ironically, early yesterday I got tired of waiting for the Ozzie plan and partnered up with a friend and bought the Double play plan. I was told that they already have a base of 20,000 season tickets sold per game already.
  10. Sorry for the short post, but I just wanted people to know that the Ozzie plan is now available online. Hope that helps....
  11. I would like to see the Sox go on a different direction. I would like to see them dump Marte and El Duque and go after BJ Ryan. I thnk this accomplishes several things. 1. Its insurance in case Hermannson can't come back and perform at the same level, or even possibly not play at all. 2. If the above happens, he is insurance in case Jenks has a sophmore lsump and cant close games over a full year next year. 3. In the most optimistic scenario, it gives you the best bullpen in baseball with Hermannson, Jenks, Cotts, Politte, and BJ Ryan. 4. In combination with our starters, we have hands down the best staff in baseball, with unbelievable depth. If that were to happen and you catch a little lightening in a bottle with Frank at the # 3 hole. I believe we would be in a tremendous position to repeat.
