  1. last place....enjoy the unemployed line...Mr. Williams
  2. I am really starting to think 05 was a fluke, fools gold. KW, i dont care about your emotions being hurt, your job is to make trades and sign players. Stop making excuses. KW, still playing patty cake with our emotions.
  3. QUOTE(Wanne @ Dec 5, 2007 -> 11:43 AM) Nail on the head. except the fact that no one wants our scrubby farm hands and they wont help us either. The white sox are consistently poor from top to bottom.
  4. What a pathetic fan base we are begging for Kenny Lofton. Why dont we just put Rock Raines at the lead off spot?
  5. He doesnt seem all that much closer to going to the brewers?
  6. QUOTE(NorthSideSox72 @ Dec 5, 2007 -> 11:29 AM) Thanks for contributing. What is there to contribute to this discussion, KW is getting played like dog. If he does a move that is decent, i will eat crow all offseason.
  7. QUOTE(Heads22 @ Dec 3, 2007 -> 07:39 PM) Worse than even Iowa State. Pitiful. Mizzou is the door mat of the big 12.
  8. QUOTE(BlackBetsy @ Dec 5, 2007 -> 09:01 AM) You put forward a coherent and believable theory. Whether it's true, I don't know. I just hope that the Sox put the money they set aside for Hunter into Fukudome. I honestly think a lineup of Fukudome / Cabrera / Thome / Konerko / Dye / Quentin / Pierzynski / Fields / Richar has amazing potential (My guess is 900 runs, if Fields and Richar live up to their projections). I think the biggest story for the Sox in the early season will be trying to figure out who the #4 and #5 starters. I fully expect that Broadway, Gonzalez, Danks, Floyd and Egbert - if they are still around - will ALL have 2 starts by the end of July. My gut tells me that the winners of that race will be Gio and Floyd, with Egbert coming in third place, Broadway fourth and Danks fifth. so 4th, maybe 3rd place.
  9. New York Newsday reports that Kosuke Fukudome "has narrowed his choices to the Royals and Cubs." Take the report with a grain of salt, because the Royals previously indicated that they weren't interested in Fukudome and the Padres reportedly offered him a three-year deal Tuesday. The one thing that seems certain is that the Cubs have remained heavily interested in Fukudome from Day 1 I hate this god damn under the radar crap....just put your name out there and get the players...stop playing patty cake with our emotions, KW
  10. QUOTE(DBAH0 @ Dec 4, 2007 -> 09:45 PM) Josh Fields isn't decent? hes fine i guess.
  11. QUOTE(Tony82087 @ Dec 4, 2007 -> 09:34 PM) So then he could lead off, right? The sox should just post 40 yard dash times after acquisitions.
  12. QUOTE(DBAH0 @ Dec 4, 2007 -> 09:34 PM) And if Hunter after 2 years of his deal, becomes a .240 hitter with only 15-20 HR's a season, and an OBP around the .300 mark, would you still be very happy that we are paying him $18M a season? Because I think something similar to that could become a very real possibility. He's not a middle of the order hitter, he's in his 30's, and he's obviously got a lot of wear and tear on his body after playing on astroturf for so long. Do we want to become like the Yankees where they are paying the likes of Pavano and Damon over $10M a season and they're not producing much at all? We HAVE to develop our young players. They offer payroll flexibility, and look at the Red Sox. Ellsbury, Buckholz, Pedroia etc. all young players contributing. My favorite aussie, our farm system has shown to be pretty cruddy lately. The only decent one is Young in Arizona.
  13. QUOTE(DBAH0 @ Dec 4, 2007 -> 09:25 PM) Ok so those 3 guys are good starts. So does that mean he's doing a horrible job and fooled everyone right now? No. Quentin gives us a LF we control for 4-5 seasons, and he projects well. Linebrink albeit I don't like the signing, should be fairly reliable out of the pen. Upgrade on Mac and Thornton. Cabrera replaces Uribe, which for me is a HUGE relief. So it's a start, and obviously he still has a lot to do. Holes at CF, back end of rotation and the pen. But if we signed Torii Hunter for 5 years @90M, would you be happy with that (the big power play), or would you be complaining "Oh no, we overpayed for Hunter, KW you suck etc."? Basically so far it's been Quentin + Linebrink + Cabrera for Garland and Chris Carter. 3 major league pieces for 1, that should help this team next season. i would not be complaining at all, and i would be very happy. To see my team go for it and stop making blathering excuses for once would be great.
  14. QUOTE(Jeremy @ Dec 4, 2007 -> 09:22 PM) I'm what you'd call a Kenny hater but I find it baffling that anyone would choose this moment to lose patience with him. He's made a number of questionable moves over the years IMO so I can't understand why the final straw would be failing to make a move that might not have even have been within his means. Completely gutting what's left of the farm system for a player who might cost $20+ million to resign in two years time doesn't seem like a slam dunk to me. Im sorry but how many of our wondeful farm was part of the 2005 team??
  15. I have a theory that a prospect is just a prospect till he is producing in the pro's. For every Tim Lincecum there is a Scott Ruffcorn...and then you get your late 50th round gems with our Buerhle.
  16. QUOTE(klaus kinski @ Dec 4, 2007 -> 09:17 PM) No -he's overmatched by other GM's It would appear. then we need a changing of the guards before our chances for the next 10 years are gone.
  17. QUOTE(DBAH0 @ Dec 4, 2007 -> 09:15 PM) What would you have done to get Miggy Cabrera instead? Would you give up DLS, Gio, Fields, Danks and Floyd for him? I have no idea, as a paying fan i look for results and let him make the decisions. Quentin, Linebrink and Cabrera are good starts, we needs the power play now.
  18. I have lost all faith in this man........does he know what he is doing?
  19. Illinois fans should focus on their team not being good. If they had a coach who could recruit, Gordon would be theirs.
