  1. QUOTE(fathom @ Jul 22, 2006 -> 10:02 PM) If Ozzie lets Anderson bat vs Otsuka, I'm going to throw my remote. The plus of not getting the games on TV and having MLB.tv instead, I can't throw my remote at it
  2. QUOTE(fathom @ Jul 22, 2006 -> 10:01 PM) For about the 5th time this week, I'll say this....at least this slump is happening before the trade deadline. I won't be opposed to anyone on this team getting traded in a deal. I just want someone, I don't care who, to talk to the team and inform them that if they don't wake the fish up right now, they will miss the playoffs.
  3. QUOTE(spiderman @ Jul 22, 2006 -> 10:00 PM) If Cotts follows his season long pattern, he'll give up a hit or two, to allow the men on base to score before getting out of the inning - and his ERA will actually lower. Blalock is horrible against lefties.
  4. Good call Ozzie. Put in Cotts to get Blalock out and stop the bleeding.
  5. QUOTE(fathom @ Jul 22, 2006 -> 09:57 PM) So....how do we explain all these pitchers seeing a drop in velocity? "fatigue my foot" Can we take Bobby out now? Please..
  6. QUOTE(fathom @ Jul 22, 2006 -> 09:55 PM) If he can't get 4 batters out, then he doesn't deserve to be a MLB pitcher. You called it though....congrats! Don't congratulate me. This isn't something that I want to see, nor is it something I'm happy about.
  7. This is why Jenks shouldn't pitch in the 8th. He's a 9th inning guy, not someone that gets 2 inning saves.
  8. I'm a fan of taking the bat out of GMJ's hands.
  9. QUOTE(fathom @ Jul 22, 2006 -> 09:46 PM) Less ranting, more strategizing. I think he's done a very good job this game.
  10. QUOTE(fathom @ Jul 22, 2006 -> 09:43 PM) HE WAS OUT! It was very close. You certainly can't blame the ump there.
  11. QUOTE(Sonik22 @ Jul 22, 2006 -> 09:39 PM) by a mile! l0l It was a great tag really. And Joe has been disappointing today.. very disappointing.
  12. QUOTE(supernuke @ Jul 22, 2006 -> 09:35 PM) He's been pretty good lately True, he's been pretty good outside of a horrible April really.
  13. QUOTE(Melissa1334 @ Jul 22, 2006 -> 09:31 PM) cordero in...gunna be tough Yea, he's been dominant this year.
  14. QUOTE(Gene Honda Civic @ Jul 22, 2006 -> 09:29 PM) ERA based on # of pitches is flawed stat. Not many pitchers can have a high ERA on pitches 1-15 because, well, 15 pitches is an average inning. So for a guy who works out of the pen, pitches #16-30 are usually made when they are struggling to get out of an inning. This is not news, and shouldn't really be cited as a reason to sit Bobby. Yea, I know. I would use a stat based on ERA in their first inning of work, then in their second, etc., but I don't know of one like that. From my memory, Bobby hasn't done well when going out in the 8th, then having to work again in the 9th.
  15. QUOTE(Melissa1334 @ Jul 22, 2006 -> 09:28 PM) its pouring outside, thome is batting, sound familiar? I don't think its pouring there at all, but I like the thought.
  16. QUOTE(fathom @ Jul 22, 2006 -> 09:26 PM) AJP took forever, and I know I'm not the only one who feared a wild throw to 1b. GREAT JOB BY OZZIE THAT INNING! I was scared spiffless too
  17. QUOTE(fathom @ Jul 22, 2006 -> 09:23 PM) Especially with 2 outs in the 8th inning. If he gets him out, and if we don't score next inning, he can still go the 9th, and then give you the best shot to win in the bottom of the inning. I disagree. After his first 15 pitches, Bobby's stats become rather miserable (8.64 ERA during pitches 16-30).
  18. Bobby coming in with a runner on... this doesn't bode well.
  19. When Thornton is on.. he's really, really good.
  20. I don't know why people are blaming Pods. Its not his fault, he sucks against lefties. Everyone knows this, so is it really his fault when he doesn't do anything against one? If anyone, blame Ozzie for putting him in.
