QUOTE (Chisoxfn @ Mar 18, 2013 -> 10:27 AM) Its downright disgraceful. Disgusting. Its one thing to be wrong with info its another to flat out lie. Its crap like that which causes people to give good blogs and websites with good and real sources a hard time/crap when they are wrong. I can't agree enough with this post. EDIT: That said, SoxBadger is completely right (which pains me to say about anyone with Badger in their name) about the lack of critical thinking from most people online. This doesn't make it acceptable in the least to do this sort of thing, but it's a massive problem with the current 24/7 newscycle.

"Roll of the dice" Interesting phrase to use considering you're flat out lying. Quite the way to make a name for yourself and your website as something that should be taken seriously. ...wait

QUOTE (Dick Allen @ Mar 17, 2013 -> 08:35 AM) I know. I think everyone, whether you are a Bulls fan or not, should want Rose to play Monday. Steve scooping Cowley, now the Bulls beat writer, would be beyond awesome. It's not scooping if you just make something up and it happens.

QUOTE (lasttriptotulsa @ Mar 13, 2013 -> 12:49 PM) To compare getting over a knee injury to being suspended by the league for excessive gambling is a little ridiculous. Fixed

Since your point guard is too afraid to come back from an ACL injury, you should enjoy this gif of a real point guard: time to see how many hilarious replies I get

Calling All Rock and Roll Dinosaurs and Music Trivia Heads!

HEY SHE GAVE ME VD Also for bonus fun: -
It's been almost 10 months since the game that Rose got hurt in. For comparisons sake: Ricky Rubio had 9 months and 6 days before returning; Al Jefferson had 8 months and 20 days back in 2009 (hurt in Feb. 2009 and started the next season); David West had 9 months and 2 days; Iman Shumpert, who had the same injury the same day as Rose, has been back for a month (8 months, 20 days). Obviously each player is different and each injury is probably slightly different, but at least in comparison to some other recent NBA ACL injuries (or at least a small sampling of them), it seems like Rose is taking longer than normal.

If you actually watch the games instead of just say "lol women's basketball", you'd understand that Tamika is actually a pretty good player and one of the best all-around players in women's basketball (even though she hacks a bunch and doesn't get called for it because refs in the W blow).

When was the last time you watched the WNBA? The lower tier teams (like the Chicago Sky) are admittedly pretty terrible, but if you're watching the top teams (Minnesota, Los Angeles, Phoenix [assuming they're healthy], Indiana, Connecticut), the quality is actually pretty good. Some teams (like Indiana, Seattle) tend to muck it up the same way Wisconsin does in college basketball, but if you actually like basketball and not just feats of athleticism, it's pretty good stuff. It's not the same league it was 15 years ago. Players like Maya Moore, Tamika Catchings, Diana Taurasi (when not faking "dental emergencies" to help Phoenix tank and get the #1 pick), Seimone Augustus, Candace Parker are incredibly entertaining to watch and very good at what they do. And you're tragically wrong if you think any high school team would beat the top tiered WNBA teams. All W teams play against D2/D3-type talent on a daily basis in practice, and routinely mop the floor with them.

QUOTE (Buehrle>Wood @ Feb 15, 2013 -> 11:54 PM) Obviously I was kidding, but the one on the black jerseys was so terrible. She started by airballing a layup, then air balled a three, and also had the ball stolen from her by common. Hilariously terrible. They looked so horrible. She (Tamika Catchings) is also a reigning WNBA Finals MVP, three-time gold medalist (including leading the US to an unprecedented fifth-straight gold in these past Olympics) and five-time defensive player of the year (even if she, and the rest of the Fever, hack like crazy). Try actually watching a real game instead of saying she sucks because she wasn't trying in a game that no one was trying in. Your complaints are akin to someone saying that Ricky Rubio (or any other player, I just picked Ricky because it's an excuse to post this) is awful at defense because you watched the Rising Stars game and the defense was awful.

QUOTE (Buehrle>Wood @ Feb 15, 2013 -> 06:34 PM) The WNBA players are the worst players on the court in the celeb game. That's embarrassing. If you actually believe this, then you have no idea what you're talking about.

I think we can all agree that Derrick Rose is better than both MJ and LeBron James.

I'm not completely caught up on this thread yet so apologies if this has been posted already, but this article seems to cover the Tuiasosopos' involvement (and parallels to his life) pretty nicely: http://www.usatoday.com/story/sports/ncaaf...sosopo/1846949/ -

Of all the tweets joking about this that I've seen today, this is probably the best: @billbarnwell: Manti Te'o was just embarrassed he was dating Ann Veal. -

QUOTE (maggsmaggs @ Jan 16, 2013 -> 09:29 PM) http://www.thebiglead.com/index.php/2013/0...o-have-met-her/ DA FUQ??? This doesn't make any sense at all, unless Deadspin is completely off in their reporting. Even then though, this doesn't make any sense given Te'o's (and Notre Dame's) statement -

If this is all a cover up for him being gay, Notre Dame should be ashamed of itself -

QUOTE (Rex Hudler @ Jan 12, 2013 -> 01:53 PM) You've been hanging around the board chatting with Illinios fans too long! Either that or I know how that 40 is a much, much, much, much, much, much higher number than 15. Indiana should have had an edge in free throws, they were more aggressive. But you can't possibly tell me that they deserved 25 more free throws than an aggressive Gopher team. It's not why we lost (not showing up offensively or defensively for the first 20 minutes is pretty obviously the reason), and it's par for the course in the Big 10, but you're fooling yourself if you think things were called equally on both sides of the court.
-
Awful first half, but glad the Gophers at least showed up in the second half. Shame they didn't get the same calls Indiana did, but if we had showed up in the first half it wouldn't have been a problem. Still frustrating, but such is life for the road team in Big 10 play.

QUOTE (Brian @ Jan 10, 2013 -> 05:14 AM) That was my first time seeing Minnesota. Yikes. Maybe most athletic team in B10. Getting tough road games out of way as well. Our season really all depends on these next two games. If we can somehow split, that'll be huge. Love how aggressive we are (on both sides of the ball), but the offense still has a habit for stalling out for long periods of time. Like I said earlier in the thread, we really need someone as a spot-up shooter on the arc. Dre Hollins is a great shooter, but he's also our primary ball handler. Austin Hollins can be a good shooter, but he's needs to prove that his shooting in Big Ten play so far this year is the norm and not an outlier.
