  1. QUOTE (Jimbo's Drinker @ Apr 30, 2008 -> 12:47 PM) I just worry Swisher is too worried about getting on base, he is a good power and contact hitter also. Nick's got a high baseball IQ. He'll adjust.
  2. Holy crap - I have never seen an LF play that close to the line. Young can't be more than 20 feet from it.
  3. Some highlights from Charlotte's win... Owens: 2-4, HR, 2B, 2 RBI, 2 R (hitting .306, OBP over .400) Lucy: 3-3, HR, RBI, 2 R, bunt single (htting .293) Whisler (W): 7 IP, 5 H, 2 ER, 3 BB, 1 K (now 5-0, 1.26 ERA) MacD (S): 1 IP, 0 H, 0 R, 2 K (also a throwing error)
  4. Dye hits one hard to Young, and again, he catches it. Seems like the Sox are hitting Blackburn well, the hits just aren't falling in yet.
  5. Wow, Thome with a line drive base hit to left - that's a rarity.
  6. QUOTE (joesaiditstrue @ Apr 30, 2008 -> 12:36 PM) perhaps, though i haven't seen either of them hit those speeds all year until tonight i watch the gun readings religiously every game Also, keep in mind they have been pitching out in the cold most of the year so far.
  7. QUOTE (joesaiditstrue @ Apr 30, 2008 -> 12:36 PM) perhaps, though i haven't seen either of them hit those speeds all year until tonight i watch the gun readings religiously every game I agree not this year, but both did it in previous years, as I recall.
  8. QUOTE (joesaiditstrue @ Apr 30, 2008 -> 12:33 PM) twinkies gun had masset throwing 94mph out of the stretch, and has thornton throwing 97mph seems a little juiced I'd believe it. Masset hits 94 when he's got his stuff, which he did. And Thornton has hit 98 before, albeit rarely.
  9. QUOTE (fathom @ Apr 30, 2008 -> 12:32 PM) Why not turn this game over to our bullpen? We have tomorrow off. They just did. Thornton in.
  10. Man, O-Cab smoked yet another one that Young tracked down. I really think he's about to break out, he's looked good at the plate this series.
  11. Toby hit that ball pretty well, but Young is playing that line and is fast.
  12. QUOTE (joesaiditstrue @ Apr 30, 2008 -> 11:59 AM) btw, the pitch CQ homered off of = curveball, not a fastball. CQ making adjustments, nobody else is. Actually, Crede adjusted to and homered off a curveball last night.
  13. QUOTE (fathom @ Apr 30, 2008 -> 11:58 AM) Farmer seemed shocked that went out. I didn't think it would go either. Barely got out. I think everyone is used to playing in the cold and rain, so these jumping fly balls are unexpected.
  14. QUOTE (SoxFan562004 @ Apr 30, 2008 -> 11:56 AM) I've been out at lunch, how has Masset looked? The definition of effectively wild.
  15. Maybe they'll throw at AJ in the dugout. Thome G4, very good play, I thought that was going through.
