  1. QUOTE(IlliniKrush @ May 1, 2005 -> 06:51 PM) Can we use metal bats? Sure....this + steroids = 284752783654 foot home runs.
  2. QUOTE(CWSGuy406 @ May 1, 2005 -> 06:50 PM) I'm not sure, actually. I was there at 12:20ish and they were open, so... Don't they always open 2 hours before 1st pitch?
  3. August and September of last year: 21 division games in August (6 vs KC, 7 vs Det, 8 vs Cle) and 17 in September (6 vs Min, 6 vs Det, 5 vs KC). August and September of this year: 6 division games in August (all 6 vs Minny) and 25 division games out of 28 in September! (8 vs Det, 6 vs KC, 7 vs Min, 4 vs Cle)
  4. QUOTE(The Critic @ May 1, 2005 -> 03:46 PM) I'd suggest that it was a big April in that a lot of people were expecting the Sox to start slow, dig themselves a hole and stay down. Which is not to say that they're a lock to win the Central by any stretch, but at least they started off competitively and have shown that they can beat division rivals, which I think is very important. I agree. But you have to consider that they beat good teams last season in April too. 4-1 vs KC 3-4 vs NY 1-1 vs Cle 2-0 vs Tor 4-2 vs TB Not necessarily great teams but they played extremely well against NY, almost swept KC, 1-1 vs Cleveland, 2-0 vs Toronto, and did pretty well against Tampa Bay. The main thing I see is that this year's Sox team doesn't stoop down to the opponents level and I like that poise and confidence a lot.
  5. QUOTE(Rowand44 @ May 1, 2005 -> 06:24 PM) Jim, I respectfully disagree with you here. I think the Sox and Twins are going to just run away from the rest of the division, I just think both teams are far better then Detroit and Cleveland. It's going to be a dog fight to the end between the Sox and Minny, there is also a decent chance that the Sox or Twins could win the wildcard, they might be the two best teams in the American League this year. I know I'm going to take some criticism for that comment but I honestly think that might be the case this year. Westbrook = 0-5, Nuff said.
  6. I am un-attracted to either. Isn't the chick in the avy the one from that witchcraft movie?
  7. QUOTE(Nokona @ May 1, 2005 -> 06:07 PM) Pedro offers you his protection. ....Until Uribe comes back. Quote of the year!

  9. QUOTE(The Bones @ May 1, 2005 -> 06:02 PM) I believe it's 1 vs. Minn, 1 vs. Seattle, 1 vs. Oakland, and 2 vs. Detroit Ah yes, that is correct. My mistake. 3 good teams ad 1 mediocre team....f***ing awesome!
  10. QUOTE(NUKE_CLEVELAND @ May 1, 2005 -> 05:53 PM) Too bad Hawk was in the s***ter and we had to endure DJ's homerun call again. :rolly UH OH, UH OH! BYE BYE.
  11. QUOTE(Gene Honda Civic @ May 1, 2005 -> 05:58 PM) #1 on ESPN's Cy Young Monitor http://sports.espn.go.com/mlb/features/cy Yup....Matt Clement is 2nd and Carl Pavano 3rd.
  12. QUOTE(NUKE_CLEVELAND @ May 1, 2005 -> 05:57 PM) Yeah......teams in our division. I beleive he won 1 vs Minny, 1 vs Cleveland, 1 vs Detroit, 1 vs Oakland, and 1 vs KC right?
  13. QUOTE(JUGGERNAUT @ May 1, 2005 -> 05:46 PM) I think now the media is going to take notice of Garland. Let's not forget "he was expected to do this." This is not overachieving. The past 4 yrs have been underachieving. This guy had has much props when he was young as Prior had. Maybe even more. As I understand two big things have led to his dominance: mastering the changeup & accelerated rhythm. He's more like Mark now in terms of catch it & throw it. Is it to early to put Jon up for Cy Young? Maybe. But May is historically his best month & he just kicked it off with a CG, 4H, SO. He could match his highest season win total before the AS break. Phenomenal. Jon could be in line for a 40M/4 deal after this. Let's keep in mind who he has beaten though.
