  1. I'd take Gathright, he has a lot of potential. Stole 20 SB last year in only about a third of a season. OBP is definetly a concern, but I wouldn't mind seeing him in a platoon role with Anderson.
  2. QUOTE(Kalapse @ Nov 23, 2005 -> 07:28 PM) Might I ask why? His glove mainly. If he's as good as he's hyped up to be then I think he can replace rowand in CF. I know his offensive numbers aren't exactly pretty, but he could at least put up Aaron's numbers. I know Ozzie wants a number two guy and Jones is definetly not that, but in my opinion he is the best FA option. Now if you can get a guy like Pierre that's a different story.
  3. QUOTE(sufferingsoxfan @ Nov 23, 2005 -> 06:50 PM) Knowing KW's desire to have guys play various positions and without Timo coming off the bench-- what about Jacque Jones as a 4th OF. If Anderson tanks than Jones could play. Other days he could play the other outfield postions. Other CF's available are: Preston Wilson (too expensive!) and Kenny Lofton (probably too old!) Other possible CF's available. Juan Encarnacion (Not bad) Johnny Damn (NO) Personally I like Jones.
  4. QUOTE(elrockinMT @ Nov 23, 2005 -> 04:47 PM) I am not in favor of this trade. Too much talent, if in fact it is true, going away for an oft injured IBman when we have other options Oft injured?? where do you get this idea? He was hurt last year, but the past ten years before he averaged about 40 HR a year. Pretty damn good for an oft injured 1B.
  5. QUOTE(UofIChiSox @ Nov 23, 2005 -> 04:41 PM) I'll bite on the devil's advocate, picture Thome hitting .207 with 7 homers and being injured for the majority of the season next year. And our centerfielder not getting to every fly ball. Look at Thome's career stats and then tell me that is what he will do. People seem to think that Thome is some kind of injury risk, he was hurt last year but other than that the guy has been healthy. He's hit 400 HR in the past ten years.
