  1. QUOTE (bmags @ Dec 23, 2016 -> 04:18 PM) Kyle (or Kyyle) Thanks, cause I couldn't see the love for Preston.
  2. QUOTE (bmags @ Dec 23, 2016 -> 04:12 PM) Tough but probably Tucker. May be swayed by stupid Astros fans confidence that he's already better than Quintana. Pardon my ignorance, but are we talking about Preston Tucker?
  3. QUOTE (Dick Allen @ Dec 23, 2016 -> 02:58 PM) It's as half assed as anything the White Sox have done. Which is saying a lot!
  4. QUOTE (Dick Allen @ Dec 23, 2016 -> 02:52 PM) Is Meadows really ready? I just think if your Pittsburgh, your chances to win have been so few and far between, risking losing $6 or $7 million on a season (assuming right now they are OK financially at break even) is a small price to pay to take your shot. You never really know when you might have one again. Hard enough to analyze the Sox...don't ask me to critique the Buccos.
  5. This is so much worse than the July 31 trade deadline. It's torture.
  6. QUOTE (SouthSideSale @ Dec 22, 2016 -> 07:55 PM) The Astros are missing that final piece IMO Don't think we have that piece.
  7. QUOTE (Rowand44 @ Dec 22, 2016 -> 07:55 PM) Are the Indians going to win the central by 70 games? They're trying to win one more game than they did this year - post-seasonwise.
  8. QUOTE (BlackSox13 @ Dec 22, 2016 -> 07:32 PM) Crazy idea I had this morning was offer Frazier for McCutchen as part of the trade provided the Pirates offer an additional piece for Q. This allows Pitt to make room for Meadows and add power to the 3B position while removing McCutchen's salary from their '17 payroll. McCutchen would be a good risk for a rebuilding team like the Sox to take. If the gamble works, come July McCutchen would fetch more in a trade than Frazier thus giving the Sox a chance for a pretty nice haul. If McCutchen got off to a strong start, his '18 option for 14M+ would add value in a July trade. If the Pirates are offering say, Glasnow/Bell/Hayes, offer the Frazier for McCutchen idea if they throw Craig into the mix for Q. I'm just using Hayes and Craig as examples, other prospects could be used in the deal to augment Glasnow/Bell. It's just an idea and nothing too serious. Just trying to think outside the box. I think Hahn would see McCutcheon as a distraction to the rebuild idea. He probably argued for years to tear it down, and if he brought in McCutch, and he lit it up, got the team to around .500, Reinsdorf would say "let's go for it" and halt the rebuild. If I'm Hahn I want no,part of any high dollar veteran help.
  9. QUOTE (hi8is @ Dec 22, 2016 -> 07:26 PM) About 400 posts of bulls***. A wasted day. Lots and lots of cock teasing. Sox teasing.
  10. QUOTE (oldsox @ Dec 22, 2016 -> 07:18 PM) Rick Hahn must be the happiest person on the planet -- right now!! So spread the happiness, Rick.
  11. QUOTE (steveno89 @ Dec 22, 2016 -> 05:25 PM) I doubt any deal is close. White sox will insist Glasgow and meadows are in the deal. Glasgow, bell, Newman and Hayes would not be too shabby though I've got everybody saying Glasgow now!
  12. QUOTE (Username @ Dec 22, 2016 -> 05:19 PM) Did Heyman have any indication of how far along anything is? No, he seemed to be like we are, following Olney and Rosenthal tweets, and guessing.
  13. QUOTE (flavum @ Dec 22, 2016 -> 05:09 PM) If it's not Scottish, it's crap! Lot a talent in Scotland. LOL.
  14. Heyman on MLB tonight right now. Says Glasgow plus others would have to go to the Sox, but not Meadows or Keller. So nothing new or dramatic.
  15. QUOTE (hi8is @ Dec 22, 2016 -> 04:58 PM) I propose that they give me at least 250 at bats in 2017 MLB Minimum is $500,000 I think.
  16. QUOTE (Chicago White Sox @ Dec 22, 2016 -> 04:31 PM) Assuming no more moves, this how I think our lineup would shake out: 1B: Abreu 2B: Lawrie SS: Anderson 3B: Frazier LF: Cabrera CF: Tilson/Liriano RF: Garcia DH: Davidson Not that I agree with it, but I think they plan on giving Avi one last shot in RF. And with Melky unlikely to be moved, I don't see an everyday spot for both Tilson & Liriano. I still think Frazier gets moved for whatever, and Davidson gets his shot at third. Opens at bats for Avi and Liriano DH/RF
  17. QUOTE (steveno89 @ Dec 22, 2016 -> 03:49 PM) That pen could throw some serious smoke Hansen, Fulmer, Adams, Stephens, Diaz?, Dunning all can throw mid 90's plus Don't forget Burdi.
  18. QUOTE (bmags @ Dec 22, 2016 -> 03:46 PM) Unfortunately the Padres are trying to throw out a starting rotation inspired by the expendables They can have Shields back. Funny if he tips the scales as to which team does worse.
  19. QUOTE (steveno89 @ Dec 22, 2016 -> 03:34 PM) Total pipe dream here = That farm system would be absolutely locked and loaded to compete in the next few years Add in some other shrewd moves and/or free agent signings and you are looking at a playoff team if things go well 1) Rodon 2) Glasnow 3) Giolito 4) Kopech 5) Lopez Pen arm possibilities (or other starters): Burdi, Dunning, Stephens, Adams, Fulmer, Hansen, Clark, Cooper C- Collins (fingers crossed) 1B - Bell 2B - Moncada and/or Newman SS - Anderson 3B - MACHADO OF- Meadows OF- Basabe OF- BEER DH - ABREU As a Sox fan you can dream of a scenario like this... That roster projection is totally loaded Any rotationtnat relegates Hansen to the pen... wow.
  20. QUOTE (hi8is @ Dec 22, 2016 -> 02:25 PM) But... it's not Wednesday! Might still be Wednesday somewhere in the South Pacific, or Asia, or somewhere.
  21. QUOTE (SoxPride18 @ Dec 22, 2016 -> 12:15 PM) Now both Hayes and Merkin have retweeted the Rosenthal tweet saying Pirates still trying to acquire Quintana. I don't recall them usually doing that, so might there be more smoke here? They want to jump on the train before it leaves the station.
  22. QUOTE (NCsoxfan @ Dec 22, 2016 -> 11:41 AM) I require Schwarber & Happ for Q. Cub Nation would poop pants in unison if we got Babe R. Schwarber.
  23. QUOTE (steveno89 @ Dec 22, 2016 -> 10:38 AM) Hahn gets Meadows, Glasnow and Bell for Quintana he would be worshipped at Soxtalk haha Not how we roll.?
  24. QUOTE (Dunt @ Dec 22, 2016 -> 09:35 AM) I'm still not ruling out a 3 way trade involving the Mets. If the Sox did actually ask for Conforto, I could see him coming to the Sox with prospects from Pirates as well: Mets get McCutchen, Robertson Pirates get Q Sox get Conforto, Glasnow, Keller, Smith, Dunn I think this makes a lot of sense, and Hahn has a history of 3 way trades.
  25. QUOTE (SouthSideSale @ Dec 22, 2016 -> 09:04 AM) I had a dream in a nap yesterday they traded for Quintana. No joke Harold, is that you?
