QUOTE(CWSGuy406 @ Apr 24, 2007 -> 10:23 PM) It doesn't help that he's allowed one out of every ten days to make adjustments. OMG A DARIN ERSTAD XTRA BASEHIT! Give me a break. He had the same crap approach last year, too, and he had all of the first half and significant parts of the second half to make adjustments. It isn't playing time -- he's either uncoachable, suffering from bad coaching or simply an all-around mediocre baseball player. -

QUOTE(Wanne @ Apr 24, 2007 -> 10:17 PM) That's where our boy Walker may want to come in. Walker is garbage. Please. He had two homeruns off of Felix in one lucky game. I'll bet he'd get Aced twenty times in a row if he saw him again. -

QUOTE(fathom @ Apr 24, 2007 -> 10:13 PM) It's sickening to see Anderson's mechanics. He's had the very same mechanics since the start of last year. Same approach. Same awkward lean/bend. Just a bad hitter. That's why I say, if he goes anywhere, I'll bet he's as bad as here except for Texas. Send him down. -

What the hell is Anderson's approach? -

QUOTE(fathom @ Apr 24, 2007 -> 10:07 PM) His hustle this year has been poor. In his limited time, he seems almost too relaxed out there. I hate to break it to Brian, but he's never going to get a lot of playing time unless he plays well. Oh. I thought you were talking about Erstad's hustle being bad. I was confused. Anderson's hustle is s***. We all knew that. Great job Juanito! -

That's why the Sox didn't want Gload in the outfield. I love him, and I would've given him a shot, but it wasn't an indefensible act by the Sox at all. -

QUOTE(fathom @ Apr 24, 2007 -> 10:03 PM) I've been unimpressed by his hustle. Aren't you the same guy who b****es that nobody runs down the line for the Sox hard? His hustle is the only thing he does particularly well besides D. Appreciate it. -

QUOTE(CWSGuy406 @ Apr 24, 2007 -> 10:02 PM) Josh is pretty small, right? MinorLeagueBaseball had him listed at 6"1, but I didn't buy that. Anyways -- have the Sox ever thought about moving him to second? His arm strength might be wasted there, but it'd put less pressure on the Sox to resign Iguchi. And his bat could make him one of the better 2nd-baggers in all of baseball. Or is that impractacle? Crede will go because of Boras + his back. It's the right decision. A no-brainer. We'd have no one else if we didn't bring Fields up at third. -

QUOTE(fathom @ Apr 24, 2007 -> 10:01 PM) Even on that routine fly ball, Anderson was too lazy to get behind it in case Sanders tried to go to 3rd base. So what you're saying is...you wish he'd grind...more...? -

QUOTE(fathom @ Apr 24, 2007 -> 09:58 PM) Jerry Owens won't be a starter in the majors. At best, he's a 5th outfielder. I was told last week that Fields will be a 3B for the Sox during his career....I took that to mean Crede is gone after this year or next. Right. Everybody knew that. -

Also: I'm not jumping all over Erstad's bandwagon. I like the way he plays the game but neither satisfies me. -

I missed that one like you missed his miserable and pathetic at-bat. Or his mediocre read/jump earlier. -

QUOTE(NorthSideSox72 @ Apr 24, 2007 -> 09:28 PM) He went to KC as a backup 1B/DH, took a platoon spot in LF because of his play, and has played more than Brown (who had the starting job in hand before Gload arrived). He earned the job, and the KC manager had the sense to play the better player. I'm glad we have Sisco, but its a shame that we ended up with Pods starting in LF when there were multiple better options on the team. To be fair, that could've been a KW/Ozzie decision. Gload's arm is terrible, or was, something I can recall even fathom pointing out as a significant negative last year. Poor jumps and reads, too, in the field. -

QUOTE(fathom @ Apr 24, 2007 -> 09:26 PM) Tough call, too hard to tell how Sisco is going to be. I hate watching Sisco pitch, as he always makes it seem like throwing strikes is hard. Considering bringing back Pods was a pathetic decision by KW, I would rather have Gload leading off than Sisco as our 6th best reliever. A lot of hard-throwing lefties do that, though. -

QUOTE(fathom @ Apr 24, 2007 -> 09:25 PM) I guess I must have been in my own world when I recalled people pleading for Gload to get the chance to start in LF last year. Sorry, must have been a different player. Gload got plenty of playing time last year. I'd have preferred Gload to Podsednik but it probably wasn't some brutal decision that Gload hates Ozzie for. He got plenty of roster time considering his position as the twenty fifth man. -

QUOTE(fathom @ Apr 24, 2007 -> 09:21 PM) Ha, good for Gload shoving it up Ozzie's ass. Don Cooper should be ashamed of this. Anyone else notice a terrible jump by Anderson on that play? I noticed. Looked like a poor read, too. -

HI GUYS Special announcement: Northsidesox and I are going to be meeting Sunday at about 12:30-12:45 for a Softball practice. Really we're meeting earlier but we won't be arriving at the destination until about those times. So, here's what we want: you! for practice! If you can make it to the Chicago High School for Agricultural Sciences on Sunday, around those times, until somewhere from 1:00-2:30, or so (I'm not sure -- NSS may have to leave sooner but if there are more of you I'll stick around with you, definitely) that'd be great. Come down and practice especially if you're in the Chicago area! Or just watch and shag flyballs for us or something, if you're not going to be on the team but live in the area. Can anyone come? Should be fun. Mods, I'm posting this in two places -- as a thread in SoxTalk Forum and on the Softball Info thread -- so it gets seen more. Hope you don't mind! I SHOULD SAY: IF YOU COME, THE SCHOOL IS ON 111TH AND PULASKI PARKING IS RIGHT THERE. IT'S AT THE SCHOOL. SOFTBALL FIELD IS RIGHT BEHIND. AS BUILT BY THE WHITE SOX!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!1 /let's do it
