  1. QUOTE(Gregory Pratt @ May 23, 2006 -> 08:08 PM) Vazquez is head and shoulders above Jon Garland on their best days. He'll be fine. And this inning wasn't THAT bad at all. I disagree. When Big Jon is on, he's dominating. Remember those 2 straight, 4 hit shutouts last year?
  2. I hope Ozzie gets tossed again for arguing strikes. I like seeing him get angry!
  3. QUOTE(SSH2005 @ May 23, 2006 -> 07:56 PM) Vazquez is like 2004 Contreras -- total headcase. ???
  4. QUOTE(santo=dorf @ May 23, 2006 -> 07:53 PM) What the f***? Where does this ump want it? Right over the heart of the plate, and eventually in the outfield seats.
  5. Wow, this ump might be worse than yesterdays. Those last two pitches were PERFECT. PERFECT!
  6. Well, it'd be nice if Javy could use the entire plate like Saarlos can. He probably feels he has to throw it right over the heart of the plate to even get a call. Are you f***ing kidding me?! f*** YOU STUPID ASS UMP!
  7. QUOTE(Balta1701 @ May 23, 2006 -> 07:48 PM) Dude, it's the 3rd inning...wait a little bit before you're calling for the pen. Javy hasn't been THAT bad...yet. I don't think he was calling for the pen at all. He was simply saying it looks like we'll have a big lead late, and Nelson could pitch. And as I say that, its now 5-3.
  8. Well, atleast we got one out without a run scoring, but we broke up the DP
  9. QUOTE(shawnhillegas @ May 23, 2006 -> 07:46 PM) tonight looks like a good night to see Jeff Nelson! I wouldn't mind being up 10-0 before we throw this guy in, just to be safe. That way, he could have a meltdown, and we'd still be winning (hopefully).
  10. It'd be nice if Javy would get a call though, like the A's are getting. But I guess he didn't pay off the ump enough.
  11. Best 3-4-5 in the league. Period. . DAMN!
  12. Two games in a row with a one-sided ump. Good thing we're good enough to beat 'em.
  13. Wow, its a completely one-sided small strike zone. Two TERRIBLE calls on Scotty there. Nice job, dumbass ump.
  14. QUOTE(BigSqwert @ May 23, 2006 -> 07:38 PM) Half of them are because of a tight strike zone. This is true.
  15. Javy is throwing a ton of balls... not good.
  16. QUOTE(Rowand44 @ May 23, 2006 -> 07:35 PM) I never said that, it's a dumb pick. Just saying that he is pretty important for the A's. Oh, alright. I thought you were defending the pick because MVP is Most Valuable Player to their team.
  17. QUOTE(jphat007 @ May 23, 2006 -> 07:34 PM) I was just using waht was right there together. It gives a good enough snapshot. That's all I wanted. Really I only cared about IP, ERA, record and baa. THe other stuff was just extra. This isn't supposed to be a scientific study or anything. I think WHIP is pretty important. It should be shown over things like OPSA.
  18. QUOTE(Rowand44 @ May 23, 2006 -> 07:32 PM) He hasn't proven anything yet but he's very valuable to Oakland, the A's were a completely different team with him in the lineup last year. But his OBP was still low-ish at .344. I don't see how that warrants a pre-season MVP vote?
  19. QUOTE(Balta1701 @ May 23, 2006 -> 07:32 PM) *taps kerry wood's arm. Kerry wood's arm falls off.*
  20. .288 OBP for Crosby. Jon Kruk tabbed him as his AL MVP before the season started.
  21. Remember last year when we didn't get 5 runs in an inning until like mid-June, when we got 10? I laugh at those days. We have like 5 or 6 5-run innings already this year.
