  1. c'mon BA just draw the walk
  2. are there any other teams in baseball that rest three starters per game so often?? it's great getting pods and AJ time off, but it seems a little excessive?
  3. not something you normally want to endorse, but this guy flat out has the Sox number, anyone else prefer just put him on 1st base than continually have him hit or just miss 3 run jacks? After yesterday's game, where he blasts one out and one nearly out off of two lefties nonetheless, I concede the base
  4. The whole thing is a sham, Veritek and his .236 avg leading AL vote getter at catcher????? can't fault the Skanks and Bozocks for having a fan base that votes em in, but still a sham nonetheless especially with ESPN's cultization of the two teams making it a self-fulfilling prophecy. If the largest sports network in the nation spends the first 10mins of every sportcenter hyping the players and rivalry, and televises a hugely disproportionate amount of their games with the likes of berman jizzing when manny or ortiz hit a homer, what players are known not by name but by statistics among the voting population?

QUOTE(shoota @ Jun 7, 2006 -> 09:34 PM) Maybe I wasn't clear in my first post: Yes I'm upset at Crede for his lack of ability, but this thread was intended to be more of a criticism of announcers who try to patronize viewers instead of calling a play on its own. Like his dropped foul popup against Boston last year? CLUTCH. Crede's defense is overvalued and does not deserve the level of respect he receives from Sox fans and announcers. Rewatch Game 1 & 2 or the WS and how Joe single handedly saved about 6 runs with diving stops at the corner--in two games we won 7-6 and 5-3, we could EASILY have been heading to Houston down 0-2 if it wasn't for him. On the season recap DVD that I've watched about 100 times, the deserved praise for Joe's D was huge-check out the look on Biggio's face afte Joe robs him. Ozzie started the Gold Glove discussion this year because of Joe's consistent clutch play, and I for one thought he certainly had a case to displace Chavez as the perennial GG winner. It seemed that the week that lobbying began, he started racking up VERY uncharacteristic errors.
  6. times like this the Sox REALLY miss Rowand, the guy was a clubhouse morale machine. Having Thome is awesome, but giving up Rowand meant a lot to CF defense, base speed, a near 300 avg, and a huge intangilble of keeping guys loose and simultaneously fired up. Watching him go this winter broke my heart after what he meant to them last year. Anyone see his diving cath webgem last night, or the collision at the wall that put him on the 15day DL a couple weeks back, that kind of thing just fires people up and I wish he was on our bench right now. Maybe we can give Philly Garland and Anderson in a trade
