  1. QUOTE(CYGarland @ Aug 13, 2006 -> 02:57 PM) Yes! this game is HUGE ya...Freddyy will come back out for the 7th, guarentee it
  2. hopefully this series will have tired out their bullpen for boston
  3. QUOTE(Reddy @ Aug 13, 2006 -> 02:52 PM) yeah probably, but whatever, i get what you were sayin all in all, a pretty pointless argument tho huh? eh, gotta talk about something
  4. QUOTE(Reddy @ Aug 13, 2006 -> 02:48 PM) huh... ok. thanks. i mean i always imagined that a cardinal rule was one that was more important than all the others, hence the use of the word cardinal. guess i was wrong. i see your point, cardinal is like "essential" in literal defition. perhaps a little loosely used in this case.
  5. QUOTE(sin city sox fan @ Aug 13, 2006 -> 02:43 PM) I'm not fishing for anything....it just amazes me that this team is playing .600 and has a 2 game lead in the wild card....yet many posters continually say we are doomed for the season and not headed to the playoffs. We are leading in this game and ready to sweep the division leading Tigers...it should be a time of positive energy and expectations. This has been a great week, a great weekend, and a great game thus far for the White Sox.....can't everyone just be happy about it rather than forecasting doom? where did i say we were doomed for the playoffs? why choose my post? i said THIS game felt bad. wow, melodramatic. i'm not saying watching the ball isn't important...obviously it is...but the way i was brought up playing baseball, watching the ball was just a REGULAR rule. CARDINAL rules being things that go unsaid...more strategy based, not fundamentals of baseball stuff.
  6. QUOTE(GoRowand33 @ Aug 13, 2006 -> 02:42 PM) maybe if pods gets on that steal attempt was worth it otherwise I'd have been happier to start off with cintron if this and if that...it's a game of guessing, always will be
  7. QUOTE(Reddy @ Aug 13, 2006 -> 02:41 PM) i always thought the cardinal rules were more like... keep your eye on the ball... or ya know... something like that... no, thats not what a cardinal rule means...those are like fundamental rules, big difference.
  8. QUOTE(Greg The Bull Luzinski @ Aug 13, 2006 -> 02:40 PM) You can be aggressive. I prefer to win baseball games. fyi, you won't win games w/o being agreesive, end of story.
  9. QUOTE(fathom @ Aug 13, 2006 -> 02:38 PM) I absolutely understand why you try to steal in that situation. However, it's disappointing that Anderson wasn't able to get a better jump in that situation where the pitcher is focusing on the hitter with a 2 strike count. oh ya, of course, the situation was perfect, but Anderson is a horrible base stealer, he'll get better, his speed's there just needs to get the head for it.
  10. QUOTE(sin city sox fan @ Aug 13, 2006 -> 02:37 PM) I remember being declaring our boys dead yesterday as well....its amazing to me sometimes how much negative energy exists on this board. In my mind, a sweep is a foregone conclusion. Lets go Sox....get the job done! what negativity? it has a feeling to it, there's no negativity to my comment, you sound to be fishing for some post so you could just say what you want
  11. QUOTE(Greg The Bull Luzinski @ Aug 13, 2006 -> 02:35 PM) NEVER make the last out of an inning stealing. it's called being agressive, get over it cardinal rules of baseball are 1st out at 3rd and last out at 3rd, other than that, i know of no rule about trying to steal second, he was trying to get him into scoring position. what don't you understand? it was a good idea.
  12. this game definetly doesn't have that same positive feeling that the last 2 had
  13. QUOTE(Balta1701 @ Aug 13, 2006 -> 02:26 PM) We caught a break in that the last ball did not leave the ballpark. that's not "catching a break." catching a break is getting the positive side of a close call, there was no break, he crushed it, end of story.
  14. why is hawk saying we catch a break? that is what f***ing happened
  15. it's alright, we're still in the lead, and we'll get more runs
  16. QUOTE(fathom @ Aug 13, 2006 -> 02:22 PM) Yes there is...a washed-up juicer. thats 2 1/2 words
  17. i thinnk there was alot more confliction when we were down 8 or 9 games to detriot after minny had just swept us and then they played each other...minny had just tied us in the standings mind you.
  18. ESPN gamecast is calling this the rubber match of the series??
  19. a collision involving Uribe would have been very bad.
  20. QUOTE(SoxnGiants @ Aug 12, 2006 -> 01:05 PM) Pods, Iguchi and Thome have very poor stats against LH'ers this year. i wouldn't exactly call them "easy outs" ... nice buerhle, haha.
