  1. It would be nice if we could get 2 innings out of Jones...
  2. QUOTE (chw42 @ Apr 25, 2012 -> 05:46 PM) I'm sure they don't tear the team apart or anything, but guys like Brenly have ripped the Cubs before. It's not totally abnormal. Brenly is a very rare breed.
  3. QUOTE (chw42 @ Apr 25, 2012 -> 05:44 PM) I don't watch local broadcasts of other teams much, but I'm sure they do that as well. Not really, actually. For the most part, they are amazingly organizationally correct.
  4. QUOTE (chw42 @ Apr 25, 2012 -> 05:42 PM) Fuentes pitched already I think. You're right. Stupid CBS.
  5. QUOTE (Balta1701 @ Apr 25, 2012 -> 05:41 PM) Who do the A's have left? Fuentes/Figeuero/Blevins
  6. QUOTE (chw42 @ Apr 25, 2012 -> 05:34 PM) What's wrong with him? He didn't pitch last night. It seems like we've used him sparingly this year. I think the oblique is rearing its ugly head again.
  7. QUOTE (Balta1701 @ Apr 25, 2012 -> 05:26 PM) Take that walk! Pray that Brent Morel ever gets to this point.
  8. QUOTE (Baron @ Apr 25, 2012 -> 05:21 PM) Yeah Jeter has been doing pretty damn well Jeter plays for the Yankees.
  9. QUOTE (greg775 @ Apr 25, 2012 -> 05:20 PM) I agree. After winning the opener it'd suck to lose 2-3. The A's suck. I do not have a good vibe. This doesn't seem like the kind of game the Sox win. What a shocker.
  10. QUOTE (fathom @ Apr 25, 2012 -> 05:20 PM) Didn't they just score like 10 against the Yankees also? Yes, it was against Garcia I know, but they still have guys swinging the bat pretty well. Ortiz is out of his mind right now.
  11. There ya go, Matt. Ok, let's get them here this inning, boys, and then hold'em and fly home with a 5-1 road trip.
  12. QUOTE (fathom @ Apr 25, 2012 -> 05:17 PM) Hopefully they get it going again vs the Red Sox, as their offense is putting up some big numbers. Against s***ty pitching.
  13. QUOTE (caulfield12 @ Apr 25, 2012 -> 05:05 PM) Suzuki's a good fastball hitter inside and Reed wasn't afraid to challenge him there. Great to see him recover from the walk and balk and not give in to the hitter. Now we have to score....because Thornton against the A's or Jesse Crain are a bit scary in a tie game on the road. I think Crain is unavailable today.
  14. QUOTE (Soxfest @ Apr 25, 2012 -> 05:03 PM) Watch Suzuki kill Sox again! Nah
  15. QUOTE (chw42 @ Apr 25, 2012 -> 04:28 PM) Yes, even the worst major league hitters can hit the ball somewhere if you give them a fastball down the middle in a hitter's count. He is not a major league hitter, as it stands currently.
  16. QUOTE (chw42 @ Apr 25, 2012 -> 04:26 PM) In a 2-1 count where it would have been a 3-1 count if he didn't offer at that pitch way outside the zone? I really doubt it. Have you been watching Morel play at all this year?
  17. QUOTE (chw42 @ Apr 25, 2012 -> 04:24 PM) Morel's hitting .286 with RISP this year. .333 with a man on third. .667 with man on third less than 2 outs. Small sample, but hey, he's excelled in that sample this year. You know damned well the odds are he was going to whiff.
  18. QUOTE (fathom @ Apr 25, 2012 -> 04:21 PM) I hate the squeeze, way too much of a margin for error. In the 7th inning, if you can't rely on your hitter to make contact, then you should have someone ready to ph for him. But you know we can't rely on Morel to make contact. He's trying to make chicken salad out of chicken s*** there.
  19. QUOTE (chw42 @ Apr 25, 2012 -> 04:20 PM) That he has. Last night's eight inning was a mess and that squeeze was totally unnecessary. Why? He was going to strike out otherwise, and then you have Escobar trying to knock him in... I think that was a brilliant time to call the squeeze. Morel simply doesn't deserve to be on a major league ballclub right now.
