QUOTE (pettie4sox @ May 30, 2013 -> 08:47 AM) Not a hockey fan but that was fun to watch. I never realized how fast paced and intense hockey is. I could barely follow anything! I'm the same way. I was a bandwagon fan in 2010 but started to watch games more regularly since then. With the fast start this year I got even more into the team, watching probably half of the games this year, and i've picked up a ton. I still don't understand everything going on or proper strategies, etc, but I'm really coming around to hockey more than any other sport because of the intensity and the "OMG I HAVE TO WATCH EVERY SECOND BECAUSE SOMETHING BIG MIGHT HAPPEN." NBA is great but quite frankly you can just watch the 4th and see 99% of the important stuff. NFL and MLB games can be incredibly boring. In hockey you have to watch constantly because so much is going on and something can happen in an instant. It's great. Even my wife last night, who basically just puts up with me watching the games as she plays on her Kindle, was enthralled by last nights game, especially in the third and OT. So much on the line, so much action, so much flying around the ice. I have a major hangover this morning but it was totally worth it. (having said all this, it obviously helps to have a team that has stars, that has high expectations, and that has good rivalries. If I lived in Minnesota there's a zero percent chance I ever watch a hockey game)

QUOTE (Buehrle>Wood @ May 29, 2013 -> 10:39 AM) I woukd say it is just the opposite with Bertrand. We've seen it before. The bigger the focal point of the offense he is, the more confidence he gets and the basket is seemingly an ocean. The most shots he has taken in games has been the best and most efficient games he has had fir the most part. Really excited to see what he can do as the team leader If he is healthy. As for Rice, he shot better than any of the departing seniors. We will see how he does vs. The BT. My minimum expectations, as always, is to make the tournament. This is not a hard feat and shoukd not even be considered much of an accomplishment. Yep, this is where i'm at. If they don't make the tournament, it's a disappointing season. I don't care who is new/inexperienced/whatever the excuse.

I'm torn. I feel like teaching that show a lesson by not watching it. But I'm a sucker for murder mysteries. And I loved the Holder character. Linden, meh, I could do without her.

QUOTE (Chilihead90 @ May 29, 2013 -> 12:15 AM) See, I actually thought that S3 has been the strongest so far. I've been really entertained, although there have been a LOT of short storylines all season. The only overarching storyline has been Katarina Sforza plotting to kill the Pope and his family. I think it's the lack of spying/assassinations. Also I don't really care for Lucrezia or the Naples storyline. Perhaps it picks up though and makes the slow burn worth it.

QUOTE (Steve9347 @ May 29, 2013 -> 07:58 AM) I'll play meathead - although accurate meathead. Michael Jordan would have NEVER done that. What's sad is watching West's reaction. It's so fast it's almost involuntary. It's second nature. And it too is a complete flop.

QUOTE (KyYlE23 @ May 29, 2013 -> 07:25 AM) http://www.cbssports.com/general/blog/greg...ays-for-the-win Doyel is such a hack/hit whore, but I agree with the message. Apparently he and Dan Le Batard had a "twitter battle" yesterday over that column, which was read by Le Batard during his radio show. I'm not sure what there is to disagree about.

QUOTE (Chilihead90 @ May 27, 2013 -> 07:06 PM) Looks like The Borgias may end the series in 2 episodes, and then do a full-length movie to wrap up how pope Rodrigo Borgia will die. I'm still one episode behind, but this season...I dunno. Not as engaged as I was in season 2. Probably a good call on ending it now.

2013 Films Thread
Knocked two more off my list this weekend: Zero Dark Thirty - pretty good for 3/4 and then amazing the last 1/4 (the raid). Chastain was fine. Not sure I get the hype for her performance. She just played a super-intense/driven character. Silver Linings Playbook - enjoyed it, didn't care for the cute ending. I thought Cooper and Lawrence were awesome though. Lawrence's Oscar was much deserved and unfortunately Cooper was up against DDL, otherwise he should have won.
