  1. QUOTE (shipps @ Jun 27, 2016 -> 03:20 PM) The Bulls totally struck out in free agency even when they had a young promising nucleus and a dynamic uninjured Rose right? What stage of the franchise did they get Boozer? He was really just a "foul ball" in a free agency year that had what was considered a few home runs. Other than Wade/Lebron, Boozer was probably the next best thing. I wanted David Lee instead, but that probably would not have mattered.
  2. QUOTE (Chisoxfn @ Jun 27, 2016 -> 03:19 PM) According to this report, we are focused on offering 2 max contracts after this season (with the goal of showcasing a team that would be attractive to build around...i.e., teaming with Butler and what looks to be some other solid young core role playing type). I've heard of worse ideas, especially since Butler with two max type players would be a fantastic possibility (and it also means you get a good idea if Hoiberg is your guy or if you need to make a major move to hire a big name coach / front office person at the end of this season to help lead the FA efforts. By the way, if this is the case, we'll see Taj moved for picks / young players to add more parts that can be "showcased" which would be around longer-term. Ha, it would be so like the Bulls to go max on a guy like Blake Griffin, e.g., Carlos Boozer 2.0.
  3. Not that i'm surprised, but Chicago is not on the list of teams scheduled to meet with Durant. http://espn.go.com/nba/story/_/id/16555870...s-heat-clippers
  4. From a review I read today: "The three major deaths of the Red Wedding were, in order: 1) Robb’s direwolf Grey Wind, shot by crossbows; 2) Robb, stabbed in the gut by Roose Bolton; and 3) Catelyn, whose throat was slit by a Frey. The three major instigators of the Red Wedding were Tywin Lannister, Roose Bolton and Walder Frey, who died in consecutive order by crossbow bolts, a knife to the gut, and a slit throat." Pretty cool if that was all planned out.
  5. QUOTE (fathom @ Jun 27, 2016 -> 11:22 AM) Chris Emma ‏@CEmma670 11m11 minutes ago Fred Hoiberg said he's excited to coach Brook Lopez. The Bulls acquired Robin Lopez. Lol, classic.
  6. QUOTE (TaylorStSox @ Jun 26, 2016 -> 10:45 PM) You saw the Dornish sails, right? That was just an amazing season with an even better finale. I did, but it was still a weird time jump. It would have been nice to see a 30 second scene with Tyrion/Dany welcoming him back. Instead it was like, oh hey there, welcome back.
  7. QUOTE (bmags @ Jun 24, 2016 -> 01:24 PM) Yeah they can't do all that in one episode. I think we'll get about 10 minutes of winterfell clean up, 10 minutes of dany cleanup, and 35 minutes of trial I read somewhere it's 75 min long. Lot of stuff to cover.
  8. ha, f*** you buddy: K.C. Johnson ‏@KCJHoop 26m26 minutes ago Rose said he may change his approach to free-agent recruiting. Was tepid participant in Bulls' pitch to Melo in 2014. Would have helped when, you know, the Bulls needed it.
  9. It's hilarious that the league went through a lock out because owners couldn't help themselves from dolling out stupid, big money contracts. And here we are, a few years later, and we're right back in the same spot. I wouldn't have offered Noah half that money. He's damaged goods and on the decline.
  10. I like what this guy is smoking. https://pickandpopovich.com/2016/06/23/why-...-chicago-bulls/
  11. QUOTE (Steve9347 @ Jun 24, 2016 -> 11:28 AM) Rose = 20mm of cap space next year Cap space won't be a problem for the Bulls in the short term. They have 25 million this year after Pau opts out. Who are they going to spend that on?
  12. QUOTE (shipps @ Jun 24, 2016 -> 11:24 AM) Yes and like I said, they need to get younger. They need to gamble on some young guys that have potential to be better that the old that they currently have. I guarantee that there will be SOMEBODY that was picked in the 20-30 picks that turns out to be a better player than Taj one day. It's possible sure, but unlikely. The odds are heavily against it. Taj is an annual 6th man of the year player. He'd start for a lot of teams out there. I would bet the percent of guys picked in the 20's that ever play meaningful NBA minutes is less than 10-20%.
  13. QUOTE (Y2JImmy0 @ Jun 24, 2016 -> 11:16 AM) I'm fine with the Rose trade. I just think they should cash in as many of the veterans on short deals as possible. I don't think Taj Gibson has as much value as some but I'd love to be wrong. But yeah, I think their top priorities at this point should be to try and deal Dunleavy and Taj. They have no future with the Bulls. This isn't a playoff team and they should let the younger guys play to see who they have for the foreseeable future. I don't disagree, I just don't think Taj for some random 2nd rounder that is never going to contribute makes any sense, whether Taj is around in 2 years or not. He's a solid player, a starting caliber player, being paid a reasonable amount. If you could send Taj, Dunleavy and a future pick for one of the point guards Phoenix has, I would do that.
  14. So trading Rose was terrible because of the crap they got back (even though they got a legit NBA center and a potential roster player in Grant), but you guys are upset the Bulls DIDN'T trade Taj for, at best, a role player?
  15. Even then though, unless they're trading him for a guy they think is a 1st day starter, what's the point? Taj is a very good piece with proven skills on a very team-friendly deal. That's a huge asset. Trading him for potential doesn't make much sense UNLESS you're moving him and the 14th to get a 3rd or 5th or whatever. Up to get Dunn, the guy you really coveted. Same with Butler. Unless you're getting a proven player (Wiggins) plus that pick you want, why give up on an all-star player that's locked up for several years?
  16. Marco Bellinelli got a 22nd 1st round pick. Taj should have gotten at least that.
  17. Yeah, and again, if this is such a destabilizing move, why couldn't we assume that the UK will remain the financial sector and european trade powerhouse via a new system? Why is it a forgone conclusion that new trade agreements and foreign worker/visitor agreements will be significantly altered? If it's going to severely hurt the UK, the UK isn't going to do it.
  18. So this is probably an oversimplification of it all, but if a "half-member" of the EU that is exempt from a lot of EU mandates and policy is going to bring the whole system down, maybe that system sucked to begin with?
  19. Reading that a lot of the sell off today is due to the run up to the vote, which was expected to be that the UK was staying. Not to say this won't have a negative impact. Obviously it did/does/will.
  20. QUOTE (Buehrle>Wood @ Jun 23, 2016 -> 08:57 PM) Butler? He lives in River North. Not in the off season.
  21. QUOTE (Wanne @ Jun 23, 2016 -> 08:56 PM) You're the one that said the rumors were BS since he was in the war room. If he's actually there it would tell me he's being traded more than that he wasn't. He's a player...not a GM...not a coach...and not an advisor. I think most of it is BS. I think it's mostly overplayed hype by various parties to drum up interest. The fact that Butler is with the Bulls tonight, to me, means the Bulls want him as the franchise player unless they get blown away by an offer and can't refuse. If he was more like Rose and totally unavailable and not returning calls, parting ways for a so so offer would be more believable.
  22. QUOTE (Wanne @ Jun 23, 2016 -> 08:50 PM) lol...so Jimmy Butler is now elevated to War Room status?!? Geezus...damn...Marky Mark must really have some pull. Why else would he be at the Advocate Center... He lives/works out in LA...
  23. If Butler is in the war room, there's no way he's going for less than a blockbuster, e.g., Wiggins and Dunn. I'm sure he knows it, so do the Bulls.
