Chicago @ Tampa Bay - ALDS Game 1
QUOTE (Friend of Nordhagen @ Oct 2, 2008 -> 03:58 PM) I noticed you didn't put Vazquez in there. I'm sure that was just an oversight. Nope. He's gone after this year. Ozzie challenged his toughness and in response Javvy has done nothing but meltdown...this will be like Shaun Tracey all over again, except on a higher profile. mark my words, Javier Vazquez is done as a member of this baseball team.

Richard is acquitting himself quite well today. That is one of the lone bright spots of this game. I think he gets a spot in the rotation nextyear... Burls, Floyd, Danks, Richard, acquired pitcher via trade or FA

Cabrera is a boorish idiot. I want him gone on the same train Javvy takes out of Chicago.

No confidence in Uribe and Cab...when AJP didn't get a chance to hit I knew this inning was toast.

QUOTE (Brian @ Oct 2, 2008 -> 04:42 PM) PH Swish for Uribe, put him in LF and bring in Fields to play 3rd for Wise. Double switch. Kinda wish Getz wasn't hurt. Would rather have him at 3rd than Jos. Agree...I think a better matchup for balfour is a very patient hitter...Swisher is that.

Balfour v. Uribe is not a matchup I like. A patient hitter v. Balfour YES I like, but Uribe doesn't really qualify as that.

AJ hit. Damn, Uribe and Cab up now...I wanted AJ to swing the bat, but someone other than him, Wise, and ARam have to make a play.

Poor Jr... nice throw in the Twins game, but he is a shadow of his former self. That was a pitiful atbat.

QUOTE (Jordan4life @ Oct 2, 2008 -> 03:27 PM) We've torched Javy enough. Even if he pitches well, the chances of us winning are slim. Our offense simply stinks. 3 runs would have gotten it done with our last 3 starters on the mound. Bottom line is javvy does not 'give us a chance' to win. That's all I ask from our SP...NO, i dont expect any of them to deal shutouts, but JUST GIVE US A CHANCE...that hoser never does when we reeally need it. I hope he is gone after this year, more than anything for this team...dump that guy. And seeing Richard throwing the ball pretty well now indicates that we have better in house options than GasCan.

Now the offense is clamming up. Looks not good.

QUOTE (Buehrle>Wood @ Oct 2, 2008 -> 03:08 PM) The last time you'll see him in a White Sox uni. Thank God. It's almost a given. I can't imagine him coming back next year. He is a proven loser, totally proven. Trouble is, the book on him is out now, I can't imagine getting anything other than a middling prospect. He offers absolutely NOTHING to any team hoping to win big.

What amazes me was the amount of confidence some had in Vazquez. I don't want to see him ever pitch again for this team.

I really think we'll get some runs off Shields, but I don't think they've stopped scoring either.

Chicago @ Tampa Bay - ALDS Game 1
Vazquez apologists dont get too comfy with him...he's history after this year. NO one objectively watching him over the past 3 years can honestly see anything other than a mediocre pitcher that YOU CANT WIN WITH.

Chicago @ Tampa Bay - ALDS Game 1
Where are the people talking about how Javvy is so good and a big game has nothing to do with anything. the GUY IS A FRIGGIN LOSER. A damn LOSER...we get 3-1 up and he gives it all right back. I want him released in the middle of this inning.

Vazquez starting Thursday
No confidence in this pitcher, but it is what it is...ill root thursday and hope. aint expecting anything unless maybe we get to their pitchers and it becomes a slugfest...

AND THATS A CENTRAL DIVISION CHAMPIONSHIP!!!!!!
Almost emotional here...special AL Central Championship. This team was DEAD DEAD DEAD, but 3 starting pitchers decided NOT THIS TIME...the efforts of Mark, Gavin and John are WHY we play baseball Thursday.

Shoutout to Johnny Danks
I never doubted he'd battle...John Danks is A MAN, pressure is his beotch. MASTERFUL...MASTERFUL..MASTERFUL .... Mark Buehrle, Gavin Floyd and John Danks ARE DA MEN...the last 3 games they gave up TWO, 2, total earned runs. THATS HOW YOU WIN WORLD TITLES boy.

I blame this all on James Dobson.

QUOTE (LosMediasBlancas @ Sep 29, 2008 -> 01:42 PM) Exactly. I'd rather they don't start til the evening, instead of us draining our already tired arms. Forecast says it should clear after 8 pm. I say wait and play it then. I agree. The game should be delayed in totality until 8pm...the weather is smooth sailing after that.

QUOTE (LosMediasBlancas @ Sep 29, 2008 -> 01:42 PM) Exactly. I'd rather they don't start til the evening, instead of us draining our already tired arms. What's the forecast for later in the day?? My uncle is at the stadium now, they are expecting storms off and on all day in Chicago, but the weather is supposed to clear up later this evening. Trouble is, you pitch 2 innings and sit for an hour you can't run guys back out there. So we may very well have to use 6 or 7 pitchers today. SHould we win, then it's basically John Danks or bust tomorrow.

QUOTE (LosMediasBlancas @ Sep 29, 2008 -> 01:37 PM) last thing we need is to get Gavin out there for 3 innings and then get a delay yea, this rain bs is really gonna cause issues with us. The Tiggers can just pitch everyone they have...we have to try to win while also having something in the tank for tomorrow.
