  1. QUOTE (Heads22 @ Jun 16, 2008 -> 08:53 PM) Yeah, but he's in CF in name only. Playing it in that bandbox named Knights Castle is a bit different. The Cell might be a smaller bandbox.
  2. Changing hitting coaches isn't going to do anything, these players are who they are and theres nothing that can be done. Any pitcher with a good change up or sinker absolutly dominates them. Anytime I here Hawk say "you gotta make him get the ball up" I might just turn off the TV and do something better with my time.
  3. Why does Jerry Owens get so much love? His numbers were terrible last year, his numbers are terrible this year (in AAA) and he will never amount to anything in the big leagues. Guys like him are a dime a dozen. Yeah this team needs speed but guys with only speed who can't get on base at a .350 clip and can't get find a gap every once and a while are worthless.
  4. my top 10 young pitchers (one year or less) 1. Edinson Volquez (until Dusty ruins his career) 2. Tim Lincecum 3. Joba Chamberlain 4. David Price (only reason he's not #1 is because he's only pitched 11 innings in high A, shut out innings though) 5. Clayton Kershaw 6. Clay Bucholz 7. Neftali Feliz 8. Johnny Cueto 9. Max Scherzer 10. Justin Masterson (definatly a sleeper, his sinker is Webb/Wang esque)

  6. QUOTE (JoeCoolMan24 @ May 30, 2008 -> 04:20 PM) A poster over at SSS brought him to my attention. He is a 22 year old righthanded starting pitcher at Kanny. Here are his stats for this season thus far... 5-1, 1.92 ERA, 56 1/3 IP, 38 H, 3 HR, 9 BB, 61 K's, 0.83 WHIP That ERA, BB/K ratio, and WHIP are tremendous. I hope he makes AA before the season is over, and then AAA by 2009 season, and maybe make a bid at the rotation by 2010. I am getting a little ahead of myself, but his numbers are nasty right now. http://web.minorleaguebaseball.com/milb/st...&pid=457580 I personally like Poreda and Ely better even though their numbers are worse just because of their draft positions. Hopefully he pans out but lots of pitchers dominate low A. (remember Ray Liotta? god I wish he made the bigs)
  7. QUOTE (fathom @ Jun 1, 2008 -> 03:43 PM) Go with this lineup: OC, Thome, CQ, AJ, Dye, Swisher, Konerko, Crede, Ramirez I think Crede or Konerko would be the most likely to be delt(other than the worst player in baseball, Uribe). Line up changes create trivial differences, same can be said about a hitting coach. Their minor league system is awful(even Fields is struggling) so theres no call ups or trades that I see happening.
