  1. Masset gives up 1 run, but I really liked what I saw from him.
  2. Masset throwing 94mph out of the stretch, interesting
  3. NICE PITCH. 2 down. Can we avoid the 2 out implosion and escape unscathed?
  4. one thing i've seen our hitters do fairly consistently all year long, even into tonights game, is blast balls deeeeeeeeeeeeeep into the OF, if they aren't hit all the way out. imagine how many runs we would score on those deep-ass fly balls to the warning track if we had guys on base more? Dye, AJP and Thome (i think those were the ones) all did that tonight, except nobody was on base to advance our big boppers are hitting the RBI-type hits, except they aren't driving in runners because there aren't any runners to drive in summary: we need certain guys (swisher, cabrera, uribe) to get on base so the RBI guys behind them can drive them in or advance them on the base paths, once we start hitting higher than .220 this should start happening, but WILL these guys hit for sub-.250 again in 2008 is the question, if they do (doesn't look like it'll change at this point), then the problem needs to be addressed whether it means getting a new hitting coach or ozzie going crazy in the clubhouse ala Leyland, or whatever other ideas you can come up with. point is, something needs to be done, these guys are too good of hitters to be hitting .220-.230 for back to back seasons guys i'm talking about mainly are paulie, thome, swisher, and cabrera, the 1 through 4. they need to be getting on base more.
  5. do we face Cy Blackburn this series? so many Cy contenders this year, will be a difficult voting process.
  6. game. are any of you guys shocked? especially those of you "Come on, it's only the 5th inning. Plenty of game left." most of us saw this coming from the 3rd inning.
  7. an aj Bloop followed by a CQ blast would be so amazing
  8. Boone is a really nice option out of our pen, except for that one game against Baltimore last week, he's been pretty awesome.
  9. the losing streak might start tonight. i'd say we could easily get swept this series and possibly lose a 4th or 5th dropping us a game or two below .500 sad. ozzie needs to do something, make a change for the sake of making a change if anything. just do something different. because this is 2007 all over again. the ENTIRE LINEUP (sans Quentin, and Crede) IS SLUMPING AT THE SAME TIME. COINCEDENCE? Unlikely.
  10. LOL Swish gets a hit off Neshek. Go FIGURE!
  11. oh, how i'd love to see us light up Joe Nathan tonight, it's pretty ironic that we probably have a better chance of hitting Nathan than anyone else in the Twins BP, or Bonser throw us fastballs joe
  12. QUOTE (fathom @ Apr 29, 2008 -> 09:14 PM) We just need more hits. Walks is great and all, but unless you have Quentin getting HBP with the bases loaded, you need to be able to drive runs in. I would bet we lead the league in fewest amounts of hits that scored runs in the past 3 seasons that weren't homers. actually we probably have the fewest hits per earned run of any team in the last 2-3 years, someone should check that out of its possible lol
  13. throw strikes Boone and you'll be ok, the hitters will get themselves out.
  14. QUOTE (JDsDirtySox @ Apr 29, 2008 -> 09:10 PM) Justin Verlander does good against us? lern2read:)
  15. QUOTE (fathom @ Apr 29, 2008 -> 09:04 PM) That's interesting, as you look at the guys we've hit well lately, and we did it on the fastball....Niemann, E. Jackson, Ohlendorf Daniel Cabrera, Justin Verlander, Jeremy Guthrie. Hard throwing righties don't do so well against us, because of our one-dimensional approach. Look fastball, See fastball, Hit fastball.
  16. The book is out on the Chicago White Sox offense. Throw off-speed pitches, and you'll absolutely DOMINATE this lineup. P e r i o d . How can anyone argue it, seriously. Andy Sonnanstine, Boof Bonser, Mike Mussina, etc.
  17. this game is overrrrrrrrr, ugh.
  18. QUOTE (Greg The Bull Luzinski @ Apr 29, 2008 -> 08:22 PM) Floyd need to just drill somebody right here ... ... like his own hitters. or himself.
  19. ball ball ball ball ball ball ball ball ball pathetic.
  20. here comes the big inning for the snack cakes.
  21. nice, an 0-2 b**** hit. unreal. edit: 2-0 twins, our offense looks so anemic, i'm not going to let them use the Double Header followed by an 11 inning game as an excuse because they looked like this for the last week and a half. this sucks.
  22. this is not a lineup you want to keep walking guys, almost every walk you give up is the equivalent of a double, ffs.
