  1. i'd like to see konerko hitting lower in the order but i doubt it'll ever happen, he's just not producing at cleanup, jim has been playing well over the last 4-5 games, going back to the tampa series also cabrera would be great if he could show glimpses of all those dreadful 1st base/3rd baseline linedrives that he used to constantly do to us, all i've seen from him this year for the most part are weak ground balls, sometimes they squeak through the defense, but most of the time they don't
  2. Looks like a lot of rain tonight (Figures huh?), unfortunately i'll be driving to the game from Peoria I wonder what stubhub's policy is on rainouts, if i can get a refund without even driving up there, or if they'll only refund if the game is PPD. Just don't wanna drive 2.5 hours (5 hours total) for absolutely no point
  3. QUOTE (southsideirish71 @ Apr 23, 2008 -> 10:31 PM) So when exactly is our team going to hit. We are currently 13th in the league. The only thing saving us is the walk right now. 2007
  4. QUOTE (fathom @ Apr 23, 2008 -> 09:13 PM) I'm here, thanks. At least Prince delivered tonight. I had someone go to me at work today "guess who's great on the Cubs right now....everyone". The sad thing was it was hard for me to come up with someone. I go "well, I heard Lilly was only throwing 85 mph yesterday". it's always nice to have bragging rights such as : "yeah, our first japanese player took less money to play for us because we've been bad for so long, that we haven't really had the opportunity to win a world series with a japanese player yet, or uh... any player for that matter"
  5. QUOTE (southsideirish71 @ Apr 23, 2008 -> 09:11 PM) Nice ABs from Crede. 2 swings for lane 3 of the Dan Ryan. And your typical crede popup. Nice game kids. Keep this up, and we will be out of first soon. But he's hitting .300!
  6. yesterday starter pitches well, pen blows it today starter sucks, pen pitches great it'd be nice if the entire team could click all at the same time
  7. predictions for bottom of the 9th? aj out on 2 pitches, both out of the strikezone quentin soft single through the middle on a 2-2 fastball crede pops up uribe strikes out i like to amuse myself
  8. whoever delivered the scouting report for posada tonight needs to be fired. 3 doubles, are you kidding me?
  9. lol paulie flies out on the first pitch, at least it's a sac
  10. look at the swings crede takes, after uribe I'd say crede is second in our lineup at swinging at bad pitches AJ and Dye have been on the downslide for a week, remember AJ's .498 average? i wonder how many 0-for's and 1-for's in 5 days it takes to bring that down to .330 and below
  11. swish and quentin are trying to make up for the lack of heart on this team with their own, it's not enough though they are the only two players i see on this team that look like they're busting their ass every day, everyone else is just totally flat edit: i'll add thome to that list, he has been playing hard as well crede, aj, konk, uribe, dye, cab all look disgusting right now
  12. regretting buying tix for tomorrows game, it'll just be an exact mirror image of this one, and you can put that on the board.
  13. that's ball-game, 3-0 yankz
  14. i feel like i just timewarped back to 2007 right here. deja vu
  15. so much for lighting up mussina.
  16. was watching some of the tigers game, lol granderson has a noodle arm like owens
  17. what i've learned after this game boone logan is spotty, he's either really good or really bad and you can't really tell which boone you're going to get when he takes the mound, generally if he's going 1-0, then 2-0, you have bad-boone dotel needs more velocity on his pitches when he's facing lefties, also his command seems to suffer when facing lefties. he's being paid too much to be a specialist, he needs to do the f***ing job thornton: see boone, except easier to hit and less command of the strike zone, falls behind hitters far too often ocab hasn't really done well in the 2-hole this year, and swisher hasn't been scoring a lot of runs, mainly due to thome & konerko's slumps, however today swisher is failing to get on base and thome/konk are actually hitting/getting on base, we need the whole 1 through 4 to click at the same time to make this offense respectable, otherwise it'll just be another average power-hitting lineup our bullpen is looking like 2007, started off in April looking really nice, exciting a lot of people, then started to suck complete monkey ass.
  18. hopefully the innings won't pile up on either of these guys and they'll be able to both go 200+ this year
  19. QUOTE (Kalapse @ Apr 19, 2008 -> 11:35 PM) 3 major league innings makes you a veteran now? He's a 23 year old pitcher that the Sox lost in the Rule V draft, the A's decided it wasn't worth keeping him on the big club all season so they returned him to the Sox for $25,000. He won't even sniff Chicago this season. wait, 23 years old? i must be thinking of someone else, another late-30's/early-40's hernandez that used to be in the sox organization, not called El Duque.
  20. QUOTE (Buehrle>Wood @ Apr 19, 2008 -> 11:25 PM) He is in AA, so it doesn't affect anything. he's in AA but he's a veteran pitcher as far as MLB experience is concerned, the sox could bring him up from AA if they wanted to
  21. unreal, what's the point of this? if this somehow blocks wasserman i'm going to be pissed
  22. look at our record at this point last year, after 17 games, we were 9-8, this year we're 10-7 1 game better, don't get too excited for this years team just yet, with the way our offense is resembling 2007, this could be a long year.
  23. no reason mark should be throwing like he's got deadarm, wonder if those spring training tidbits about his shoulder or elbow or whatever it was, is bothering him
  24. mark has absolutely no movement on any of hits pitches, this is ridiculous. why is he still in the game?
