  1. That was stupid on his part to get ejected on an obvious call. I don't believe in that sticking up for his catcher s***. If it was an obvious call, Sandy is the kind of guy to realize that later. Either way JM didn't need to get ejected, he could have just talked to the ump and gotten his point across. I was wondering if JM did it because of Alomar and Everett. It's a possibility.

  2. I like polls. I think they show the basic fan opinion. More competitive polls are more interesting because they usually spark fights. :P I use polls whenever I have a question about how the fans feel about something.

  3. holy f***balls it's danman.

Yep, it's me. I haven't been on the boards in a while. Nothing like a couple trades to get me to come back. I know that sounds weird, but I'm NOT a fair weather fan. I've been a Sox fan for years. I repeat: I'm NOT a fair weather fan. :lolhitting

  4. The team is playing well. The team is playing together. With a month until the deadline should KW have gone out and made the trades when he did or should he have waited for the team to lose a series and use the trades as a boost? Of course there is the possibility that he had to make the deals now or risk being outbid for those players. My dad had the theory that he wanted the team to come together before playing all those west division teams in August making for a tough schedule.

  5. This lineup is arguably the best on paper. If guys like Valentin, Thomas, and Maggs hit like they did in 2000 along with Konerko (which isn't going to happen) and the newly acquired Alomar and Everett playing their best it probably is the best lineup in baseball. That's 5 all stars and another good hitter there. Unfortunately Konerko most likely won't get out of his slump anytime soon and I have a hard time believing all 5 of those guys can get hot at the same time. But if they do.....(starts drooling and fantasizing about a WS title)

  6. I agree that a tablesetter would of been better.  The thing is Everett has decent speed and a very good obp and in my opinion that makes him deserving of the two hole.

The thought of Everett as a 2 did cross my mind, but I don't know if that will happen. There are a lot of possibilities with this new bunch of hitters.

  7. I'm more "down" on the Everett trade because I think the Sox needed a table-setter at the top of the lineup rather than another big bat.

Totally agreed. The Sox need a leadoff guy. My reaction to the Alomar trade was, "Wow, a good leadoff type hitter." As for the Everett deal, he isn't a leadoff type guy which means Valentin might be hitting 2 which worries me the way he has been hitting this year. It worked in 2000 though, so I guess it could work again.

  8. And now we are just parting ways with d'angelo jimenez.  Who is going to play second base next year???

Willie Harris did play 2nd base today. Is it such a stretch that he could play 2B and leave CF to Rowand and/or Borchard in the future?

  9. This just shows how awesome it is to trade with the Expos. They are sure unloading everything and getting mostly nothing. Basically we gave up Osuna, Biddle, and Liefer for Colon. Even though I hate Colon when he was with Cleveland, this is a great deal. KW is starting to make good moves this offseason :o

  10. This is Nuke's first welcoming thread in a while where he didnt ask "WHAT THE f*** ARE YOU FOING HERE"?
Am I supposed to feel flattered??:) I ditched WSI a long ass time ago.

I just didn't bother going to another Sox board because the Sox were pretty lame this year and I was kinda burnt out on posting anyway.

  11. Some of you should remember me from WSI. For those of you who don't remember me I look forward to getting to know you all. My first impression is that this site has better emoticons. I mean, just look at this thing::metal
