  1. The A's can develop pitching, that's something we find hard to do. Beane knows his stuff. If this guy gets going their pitching will almost be too good. A superstar 4th starter isn't that important in the playoffs so I'm guessing if Harden turns into a star one of their pitchers is getting traded for a hitter, but I could be saying crap. Either way they have so much young talent, it's amazing this team hasn't won more than they have.

  2. but he has been getting better guests

Uh, really   Kathy Griffen(sp) appeared the other day for the 100th time(I think Adam is tied with her)

I think is gonna take a few years for Jimmy to get A-B stars on his show..Conan has been on for 10 years and still gets crappy guests..but he's in NY and just about all the stars are out in Cali..so you give Conan a break there.

Jimmy is righ smack in the middle of movie star land and still getting C list guests

But I still watch his show..

He was getting total no names until the summer started. I know he's not getting A-B guests, but C guests is an upgrade from what he had. His best connection is athletes. He tends to be able to get them pretty well. I'm not sure why, but being in LA doesn't hurt and working for Fox NFL pre might have helped that. He's had Roy Jones Jr., Mike Vick, Gary Payton, Karl Malone, and Magic Johnson. His show will get better, but I still think it's the funniest one out there. I don't watch a show to see somebody interviewed, that doesn't do anything for me. I want the comedy and that's why I like Kimmel and Conan.

  3. i remember conan was telling the story of getting kick out or almost kick out of an ivy league school for stealing the batman suit when adam west came to do a show.

    that is ballsy.

I'm pretty sure he went to Harvard, right?

  4. I used to like Letterman more, but he has changed and is not as funny lately. His bits aren't that great.

I'm not a Leno fan. Other than the dog, he has no good bits and is rarely funny.

Kilborn used to be horrible, but he has gotten better. I never watch him because he is on when Tom Green, Conan, and Kimmel are on so he is the 4th choice. I only like his 5 questions, and even that is inconsistent.

Conan is great, #2 by me. Not so great with the interviews. He says funny stuff as spiff said, but he interrupts his guests in the act. Good bits and monologues.

    Carson Daly's show blows, period.

I just started watching Tom Green. It's a good show, but still only 3rd choice at his timeslot.

Kimmel is hilarious. He is my favorite because he is just funny. The show used to suck because he was new to it and he had bad guests, but he has been getting better guests and is becoming a pretty good interviewer.

  5. I used to collect, but I stopped mostly due to lack of $$. I kept wasting all my money on cards. Being a teenager it didn't really matter, but I need money more now. I'll probably start collecting again though. I found baseball to be the hardest to find good cards because there are so many players and only so few that have value. My best baseball cards are Barry Zito and Mark Mulder SP top prospects cards. I still can't believe I got those 2 in the same pack. My best card is an Upper Deck Slam Kenyon Martin Extra Strength 2 (type of insert) rookie card, it's #1 out of 25. I don't know it's value, but I heard that it being #1 doubles it's value. I think it's somewhere in the $150 range then, but I could be way off. I'm thinking about grading it because it's in good shape, then I could raise it's price and sell it. :headbang

Anyway, I think this thread is more for the off topic board...

  6. Would you talk so big talk to Rashidi Wallace's mother?

Self righteous cover ups at Northwestern, where students have conspiured to thrown basketball games, and you talk about Michigan?  We deal with what comes to us when we deserve it, which we did, we don't run illegal workouts with coaches present (which made it illegal) timing and lie about it, and then destroy doctors records.  We self reported fully.  Northwestern covers up and shreds the documents of a just dead student.  Oh, it wasn't NU's fault, it was the NU doctor's fault and no one knew until they were in court -  NU is just another bunch of whiny cub wannabes who offer every excuse in the world except take responsibility.

First of all his last name is Wheeler, not Wallace. What big talk was I talking? Did I ever say I thought NU was right in what they did? No. I just said it's funny that you are bashing NU so much when Michigan had their own problems. Both screwed up, regardless of the severeness of the situation. It's just crazy that you are going so hard after me. You can't say that what Michigan did was right because they made their own sanctions. A mistake is a mistake and that's that. And I don't know how you get off comparing NU to the Cubs, that makes totally no sense.

  7. I am doing Indiana, Purdue and OSU for sure - no way will I get ND  but I would like to see us stomp Illinois again, and I may score those

am going to Chicago to see us beat the "opps we burned the medical records hours after our player died at illegal workout but we are so ethical other than when our students run betting scams" holier than thou Northwestern

Tell me how you do Indians, Purdue, and OSU? ;) About NU the workout was not illegal, but I find it completely hilarious that you are talking as a Michigan fan. After all the basketball team is in so much trouble right now. Michigan lost scholarships and postseason play for multiple seasons because of thier screw ups.

  8. Anybody else notice that Hawk sometimes says "He gone!" and sometimes he says "He's gone!" Anybody want to venture a guess as to why he keeps switching it up seemingly randomly?

  9. Yeah, now that you mention it that does look to be the case. I mean the top of his batting helmet is cut off like that by design.

I know, but when I first saw it I went to scroll up because I didn't think I was at the top of the page, lol.

  10. how much says this doesnt even make front page of ESPN with frank on front??

I'm pretty sure Bagwell wasn't on the front either so that would be fair. To be honest 400 HRs isn't that big. If he didn't get on the front page for 500, now that would be a crime against humanity.

  11. I hope he does well too. 5 in a row would be sweet. About the thing where the other riders slowed for Lance, I heard somewhere that it's supposed to be bad luck to take advantage of riders like that. That's cool. :headbang

  12. You throw your watch, I always throw my hat.  Damn thing flies all across the family room during games.

That would work, but I don't wear hats. I have a friend that throws his hats around though, I find it rather hilarious.

  13. Ha, that watch pales in comparison to my current watch...T53151_s.jpg :headbang  :)

Hell yeah, I got a Timex too. They are sweet. I wouldn't want a Rolex anyway, I'd have beaten it up so much by the first week you'd think it was a fake. See, I like my watches to be, how should I say this, durable. They need to be able to withstand some throws at the couch after the Sox don't score with the bases loaded or something. lol Seriously, I throw my watch around, but only on the couch so it doesn't get too beat up. :bang
