    No they didn't.  The first LCS wasn't played until 1969.

     

    The last time a Chicago team has won a play-off series is 1917.  Sox 4, Giants 2.

    On a more serious note, I have to agree with you.  He does do a better job of managing then a lot of people think he does.  He does sometimes mishandle the bullpen(but I'm fine with having Rick White call him out on that, because now Rick White is in Charlotte, or maybe he will go to St. Louis, or somewhere else, where he can suck), and he will occassionally make some dumb managerial moves(such as bunting with 2 strikes, not using the hit-and-run enough, bunting when you shouldn't, not bunting when you should, etc), but overall, I'd say he's been better this year then he has in the past.

    Agreed. My dad said Tony LaRussa was the same way when he started, and look at him now. Manuel has gotten better and I think he will keep getting better.

    JM is a better manager than he gets credit for

    Manuel isn't a bad manager. He just doesn't know how to handle pitchers. He has gotten a bit better as the season has gone on. It helps some of the relief pitchers have done better.

    Jason is gay...he made us drive around for an hour to look for a decent restaurant....which we never found in this hick-town.

    All you are going to find in any hick-town is Cracker Barrels. So unless you are willing to eat breakfast 3 times in a day, you aren't going to find anything. I remember from a past road trip. It sucks...

    I finally returned to my original avatar. This is the first avatar I got when I came here. Heather talked me out of it because she found it offensive but with the way chick pic avatars/sigs run the board nowadays, she wont stop me... :D

    Those players are professional hitters who are smart enough to know when to put the ball in play and not swing for the fences.  Its not luck at all.  Its skill and thats why their team whipped our ass in the playoffs 3 years ago and would do it again this year, if given the chance. Luck, dude cmon youre better than that.    :nono

    Did I say everyone of these hits was luck? No. Did I say the Sox swinging for the fences is good? No. Plain and simple. The only lucky hit was the Olerud blooper. I'm not going to repeat myself as I often have to when arguing with you, so I'll just drop it.

    LOL lemme know when u want a lesson on baseball.  Yeah Ichiro is just lucky right?  Thats how he approaches every at bat.  What a lucky f***er!! LOL

    Not Ichiro. Did you see the Olerud hit? C'mon, that was luck. Ichiro gets those hits because that's the way he swings, but most of his hits are solid hits. Not complete bloopers like Olerud hit. :fyou Bmr

    No, if you had a clue about baseball, youd know those hits arent luck. :rolleyes:

    What? Why do you always accuse people? You are such a f***ing asshole...geez. Just because a player can fend off a pitch doesn't mean they deserve a hit. They are mostly luck. It's that simple. If you would get your head out of your ass and realize that that is what's going on, maybe you would realize those hits are at least partially luck.
