  1. I prefer the "LINE SHOT" action movie commercials from 97 after we got Albert Belle.

"If Matt Karchner's fast ball goes uner 90 mph...BOOM!"

Frank, Albert and Robin walking down the street like Action stars

Bo Jackson as their driver and Jenny McCarthy as the girl.

    This commerical said to me:

Thats right kids come down to the ole ballpark for Kidnapping, terrorism and shootings!

    Gallas is a genius!

    Should this be in green?

  2. ESPN was replaying last years HR derby at Miller Park. Well it got down to the finals with Sammy and Giambi.

Sammy was whiffin left and right, if you recall.

Well, after 5 outs had passed on Sammy rather quickly, he walked over to the dugout and pointed to the batboy to grab a different bat.

The batboy gave him a black bat, Sammy checked it, nodded and went back to the plate.

Even Chris Berman remarked "Sammy is getting a new bat? Does it say 'Wonderboy' on it?"

Even though he only hit one HR in the finals ( he was tired), I wondered did he go get the corked bat to try to win te HR derby?

    Hmmmmmm

  3. It's the Indians. They would win a AAA Championship,  but it's not like their bringing him up to face the Mariners or Yankees.

How about Billy Botch to start. Wouldn't it be an amazing story if Botch was a Eckersly in reverse? Struggling reliever becomes a 20 game winner as a starter. Ahh I can dream, I am a Sox fan.

He'd last 3 innings at most, and you'd burn ur pen out

Probly be Stewart, Rauch is on DL i believe, though Cotts would be fun from a fan perspective.

I've rarely seen Billy last one innings, let alone three.

  4. 6 games left...

If we sweep, we are 7-3.

We can't beat the freakin' D-Rays and we're 1-3 in our last four against Detroit..... THE WORST TEAM IN BASEBALL! . I know a sweep would put us at a 7-3 roadtrip, but do you REALLY think that is going to happen?

I never said "it's going to happen"

I said we "could go 7-3" which would be a good road trip.

Can we do it? YES. We have the talent to win the remaining games. Will we do it?

Eh, depends on how many different line-ups we see.

Since JM plays the % all the time, why doesn't he go with a complete LH line-up against RHP?

why, CAUSE ITS STUPID. Same when he does his RH line-up, no matter how hot the guy is playing.

    JEEZ, I'm aggravated!!

    P.S...Yeah Angelina Jolie is HOT

  5. Quote from MLB.com:

Jason Varitek of the Boston Red Sox continues to lead the American League candidates with Frank Thomas of the Chicago White Sox in second place and gaining quickly.

    Go Sox Fans...go!!!

  6. Check out these two articles by Suntimes' resident jerkoffs Toni Ginnetti and Greg Couch.

Toni claims Sammy is turning down an invitation to be in the HR Derby because he didn't make the All Star Team. I'm sorry, I could be WAY wrong..but don't you have to be elected to te All Star team to participate in the HR derby?!? It's not like the Slam Dunk contest in the NBA All Star Game. Then WHAT THE f*** is she writing about? Why is she trying to save face for Sammy?

    http://www.suntimes.com/output/cubs/cst-spt-toni07.html

Now Greg...well, his article about why Sammy NEEDS to be an All Star is hysterical...that is until you realize he isn't kidding. This piece of poorly written crap is worse than some of the asinine posts "below 80 IQ" Cub fans have written in years past on various other boards.

Greg says WE owe it to Sammy because he saved baseball in '98, is hitting near .300, and hit his 500 hr this year. He claims a special consideration was made in the past for Cal Ripkin and Tony Gwynn in offensive off-years, and they should do the same for Sammy...he forgets to mention they were retiring in that year too. Sammy isn't.

What a moron!!!This guy is a professional writer????

    -RR out

  7. Damn Straight!!

I have saying we should go after Troy Percival and Brenden Donnelly from the Angels. They are loking to trade both of them...what would it take to land them.

If not both, then Troy from the Angels and maybe Paul Quantrill or Mota from the Dodgers. Dodgers need a first baseman or an outfield slugger with McGriff and Jordan out...Danny Evans was the one who wanted Paulie to come to Chicago...

    Just thinking out loud

Dammit, I wish KW would have made that Gagne/Howry trade in 2002 when we had the chance..

But JM would have made Gagne a starter
