    Easy.
    LF - Beni
    CF - Robert
    1B - Vaughn
    DH- Grandal
    3B - Burger
    RF - Colas
    2B - Sosa
    C - Zavala
    SS - Andrus

This is a really needed win vs the division rival in first place. You do Not put sheets in RF (he could swap for Grandal at DH) and you don't put Alberto at 3B (why is burger even up if he won't start for yoan?)

Still backup players who are not always consistent enough to start, See my point?

Lineup is fine given what we have to work with. Sheets has been great at the plate. Have to sacrifice defense for offense. Not ideal but I get it. Alberto is really the only issue but again it's a roster construction thing.

Unless these guys complaining about Grifol's line-up know of some hidden all-stars he is not starting...

He can only work with what he is given.

Who would you start with your three top players on the IL?

    What I mean is.,.

These are all backup players who should only be spot starting not taking on full duties for an extended period of time.

Pedro can only start who he was given. Who is there that is consistent enough to be getting the nod?
Depth is our issue and it always has been...

Yoan finally looks fully healthy after 3 years battling COVID and injuries. I think he's gonna have a monster season. He needs to be hitting in the top 3 in the order, at least vs RHP.

Luis Robert is not a top of the order guy. Doesn't have a high enough OBP to take advantage of his speed.

Also...top of the order guys are an antiquated idea.

They only, truly, lead off once in a 9 inning game.

You put your best hitters at the top so they get the most at-bats during the game.

I seem to recall reading somewhere that Ozzie disliked Anderson and didn’t think he was a real major leaguer. Is that true?

After the trade to Texas, Brandon McCarthy told local reporters that he enjoyed the atmosphere more in Texas than Chicago, mainly because he and teammate Brian Anderson were the only two players who weren't married or didn't have a serious girlfriend.

“You played with us 162 games and all of a sudden you leave and say you don’t have a friend in the clubhouse, only Brian Anderson?  Well, he picked the wrong guy to be friends with.” - Ozzie Guillen

Let's assume this is the starting group

    C - Grandal SW
    1B - Vaughn R
    2B - Andrus R
    SS - Anderson R
    3B - Moncada SW
    LF - Benitendi L
    CF - Robert R
    RF - Colas L
    DH - Jimenez

    That leaves 4 openings.

C - Zavala is the only lock

Who are the other 3, and why?

    1. Utility.  Someone who can back up all the infield and OF spots.  Most likely Garcia.

    2. OF depth.  Jimenez can play LF or RF, as could Sheets in a pinch.  But that leaves CF. Can Colas cover there? Seems like someone is needed here.

    3. Platoon value?  Sheets offers value against righties, but not paired with Colas. And Vaughn isn't likely to sit often.  Burger offers value against lefties if Colas sits and Jimenez plays RF.

    4. Defense and speed.  Hamilton can cover CF, and offers speed, but who does he run for?  Grandal? Vaughn?

My guess is Zavala, Garcia, Sheets mostly because they've played the most, with the 4th player a defensive outfielder.  But I'm not confident  beyond Zavala.

    Who do you have?

If you have a starting outfield of Ben10, Robert and Colas...you won't need a late inning defensive replacement. But I think they go with Jake Marisnick for the 4th OF.

Ugh I had hopes for a baseball forum not to deal with sexuality.

So I guess in the Sox organization if you are bad at something they move you around positions hoping it will work.  They tried that with Viciedo and Fields.

Until specific groups are not marginalized, assaulted, and given less rights based on this...It is brave for those to speak out and declare their truth to us all and it is needed for others to speak out in love and support.

    No matter the situation.

I've spoken to a number of people over the years who know JR and the one constant I get is that he wants to win.

    But...

He wants to win HIS WAY...under his rules, his restrictions financially, and putting loyalty above all else.

Like many in the organization he feels he is smarter than everyone else...history shows that is not the case.

My major issue with JR has been his unflinching dedication to loyalty above talent. I am not talking on the field. He has shown he will spend some money when needed, however its in the front office where he fails us. They have had numerous chances to hire and put together a modern office with top baseball talent. But no...this is where he WON'T spend the money. He will continue to let unqualified people run the show as long as they are loyal to him. And he will ask old friends to be managers, instead of finding the best field minds. He has no interest in letting "outsiders" run the White Sox.

Thats why I don't like JR...

And he called me short once, too.
    Asshole.
