  1. a GMs sole job isnt to develop players from the farm...its to assemble a team....

and just in case you didnt know....jenks, cotts, hermanson, politte, garcia, contreras, el duque, AJ, iguchi, dye...etc etc were are assembled by KW

I know what a GM job is.. And KW doesn't do it, well he does assemble a team, I will give him that now assembling a quality team that is playoff bound.. Umm Yeah..

From his start till now he fails to address the bullpen as a need. He attempts to throw together some hodge-podge and hope 2005 will happen. When he went with his all hard throwing straight ballers.. I gave him a shot, but banking your whole pen on it was not wise.. Letting Riske go another not so wise move..

But this is getting off topic..

Castillo.. IMO Towers should have tried is damnest for him.. they need a 2b and a lead-off hitter.

  2. You lost alot of that small window of credibility with that post.

Sorry, But 2005 was a fluky year.. Can KW reproduce it.. I don't think so, he failed to do it before 05 and after.

Ryan, had some bad year yes..but, he was building one of the best farm systems around, KW never has produced anything from our farm... Wait Sorry Fields might be, but I am not going to say Horray for one spect in 7 years.

  3. Gooch will be missed. His daughter goes to the school I work for and he has been nothing but generous to us. He gave us autographed baseballs for an auction we had. He even ofered to take the ENTIRE SCHOOL to a White Sox game in September! I wonder if that is up in the air now. When asked if there was anything else he could do, the principal joked "well, we could use a new gym". They all laughed and Gooch said with a smirk on his face "we'll see what the next contract brings". He was a good guy, I hate to see him go. Too sad. :(

Thanks for that.. I always thought he was a very good guy and little things like this proves it.

  4. I know, and I expect Ozuna to platoon with him next year. I'd be fine with that platoon. However, you and I both know that the expectations people have for our return package in trades is insane. In all honesty, the only two players we could trade that would really piss me off if we don't get good value for are Garland and Vazquez (or if we trade Dye to the Cubs).

Other than Mark and Vazquez.. there is no one I would care to keep. Even if we Send DYe to the cubs for Patterson..

  5. Why would they pay for him when there is actually a good player out there in Loretta that can help so much more? Loretta should bring something back in return - he is actually a good player. Iguchi? Please. It looks like the Sox were just making room for Richar to come up and get some playing time, which is great with me.

So.. 3 teams 2 players.. What am I missing here? KW jumped the Gun plain and simple.

Guchi is a good player, its too bad Ozzie didn't keep him in the 2 hole, he would have shined this year.

Question.. Did Iguchi not sign a baseball for you.. is that why you are on this rant?

  6. He is in the last year of his contract, hitting .250 with 6 HRs and 30 RBI, and is poor defensively. What were you expecting. Please tell me. Instead of jsut saying how bad it was, offer up something inteligent to the conversation.

With Mets, Padres and Phils all looking for 2b.. the best we get back is a A RP who will never make it to the majors?

  7.

Ryan Raburn, OF, DET – Rayburn is a 26 year-old semi-prospect with decent power and questionable defensive abilities. Hard to argue with results though: 10 for 20 with three home runs and the game of a lifetime against the White Sox (though he may have encountered tougher pitchers than Jose Contreras while in the minors.) He's been filling in at all three outfield positions. The Tigers will keep working him in as the fourth outfielder until Marcus Thames returns. He's an OK AL-only pickup but nothing more.

    :lolhitting

  8. Thank God we won with the chance we got. :P

Also: do a better job drafting, scouting and developing. Which means fire KW and much of the scouting development and bring in an outsider from an organization that's good at such things.

I love it when you analyze :hawk: !

  9. Meche's ERA (3.76) seems awfully low for a guy with a 1.30 WHIP. And I'd say that the latter is more telling of how good a pitcher he really is. Geez, even Jose and Freddy let fewer guys on base last year.

I'm wondering how much KC's relatively good bullpen has been keeping that ERA down. It seems like a lot of inherited base runners aren't crossing the plate.

Wow, you just throw anything out there to make it seem like KW is a God.. :lolhitting
