I really have no issues with aggressive interrogations. Obvious torture, no, but the other stuff works and when you're dealing with scum of the earth types you'd best to have good tools at your disposal.

Me either. It's going to take until at least late May to get a good handle on what kind of pitcher he's going to be and what adjustments he's made.

 

That being said, I will look forward to the tone of the threads until his next start which will be something along the lines of "KW needs to DFA Danks and trade Fields for a pitcher"

The fact that he can only get one pitch over with any accuracy, but his high pitch counts and inefficiency is about par for the course... but that was a problem that pretty much stemmed from the first

Yeah on Gameday it's like 95% of his pitches are fastballs, ugh. I saw him throw maybe one slider.

Which is why I mentioned Carmona originally. Pitchers like Brandon Webb and Carmona and Maddux in his prime and Garland to an extent can get away with pitching to contact, because they keep the ball on the ground. Being a flyball pitcher and pitching to contact is a recipe for disaster.

Especially in either Chicago park which are basically like Little League stadiums.

You may be a Sox fan but deep down inside you were hoping Crede would fail, so your man-crush Fields could come up. I can't believe you said it would be moronic to trade Fields for Harden or Lincecum! These players are easily double the value of Fields. I expected to be called a moron for even suggesting Fields is worth the value of Lincecum or Harden. Harden would be an injury risk, but he's dominant. Lincecum is just plain filthy. If we got either we would be contenders for real.

If Contreras really blows that bad I don't think the org. will keep him in the rotation for that long, and they'd put him in long relief and call up Broadway or Egbert. I was thinking about making a thread about this but I'd rather do it once he has a good few starts to gauge him by.

In the 2nd half of 06 he was actually pretty bad with the bat. Anderson level or worse. Post all star break that year his line was .258/.307/.398/.705. In August he put up a .668 OPS and September .590. The offense that was clicking in the first half struggled more in the 2nd half by all accounts, and Mack was as much a part of that as any.

2006 splits aside, I think Mack has proven to be a pretty decent hitter throughout his career. Not an All-Star, but plenty serviceable.

Again, say what you want about Macowiak as a CF, but I simply can't recall him ever hampering our offense... if he did, then he wouldn't have been in CF ahead of Anderson.

The only policy of his that I have a clear dislike for is his Iraq policy. It's shortsighted and narrow. The problem is that is basically his entire campaign for all intents and purposes.
