  1. QUOTE(WHarris1 @ Jan 16, 2008 -> 07:35 PM) ...who the f***? Your protege that's who.
  2. QUOTE(WHarris1 @ Jan 16, 2008 -> 07:21 PM) Playing one of the worst teams in the leauge. Fa sho.
  3. Too bad it took Weber this long to figure out that in order to win you have to have good players. Some are stubborn enough and arrogant enough that they think they can do it with players not nearly as talented as the big time recruits...laziness takes affect and it shows. Has Weber taken that route? I'm not exactly sure, but something clearly clicked in there.
  4. QUOTE(Jimbo's Drinker @ Jan 13, 2008 -> 09:11 PM) I usually say, that sucks, self choked again. Calm down sensitive little Illini, im just having fun with you. You clearly do have a lot of fun with Illinois fans...I mean at least give reasoning for your horrible shots at them. And I'm not an Illinois fan.
  5. I haven't been around to know, but what does Jimbo do when Kansas bows out of the tournament early and predictably? Guess it doesn't matter really, he clearly gets more joy out of seeing Illinois lose than Kansas winning.
  6. QUOTE(Jimbo's Drinker @ Jan 13, 2008 -> 08:51 PM) just watched the SC highlight, the last 10 seconds of the illinois showed Weber's true coaching delight....bunch of players running around with no purpose. Just quoting this so you can't edit it to avoid looking like a total moron...which you've proven plenty.
  7. QUOTE(Jimbo's Drinker @ Jan 13, 2008 -> 08:22 PM) probably wants to transfer to a team that will make the tourney once in his years at school. Yeah he's clearly going to transfer after his junior year. But surprising that you wouldn't know that.
  8. QUOTE(Jimbo's Drinker @ Jan 5, 2008 -> 05:46 PM) I think he is working his way into the NBA at this point. Absolutely...he's got the size, the athleticism, and the quickness for a guy who plays that spot...big fan, especially after today's game. It's clear he's being held back in terms of stats because of how ridiculously balanced this Kansas team is. BTW, after watching them a few times this year I've changed my tune on them. I knew they were very good...but they are ridiculously good. No weak spots on the court.
  9. A little harsh on the ripping of Jackson. He's a very good player on an incredibly talented and balanced team, but special shouldn't be a word tossed around with regularity. He's improved so much.
  10. QUOTE(Jimbo's Drinker @ Jan 4, 2008 -> 07:20 PM) Im sorry did you just say NIT, buddy. He may split it with Rush or Chalmers or Arthur.....Jackson is the best on Kansas this year. Funny when people make fun of Kansas or one of your posts you attack their team, when they never brought up their own team and they had nothing to do with it. And calling Jackson "special" is still hilarious.
  11. QUOTE(Jimbo's Drinker @ Jan 4, 2008 -> 02:24 AM) Darnell Jackson may be Big 12 player of the year...kid is special with a capital S. Please tell me this isn't a serious post.
  12. I laughed so hard when I saw Hamilton got a contract extension.
  13. Let's see how many ways Jimbo can say he dislikes Illinois! And see how many times he can hint at the fact that Kansas is a good team!
  14. QUOTE(Palehosefan @ Dec 29, 2007 -> 03:07 PM) In a few years Kentucky could be sitting 3rd all-time in wins. Kentucky - 1,948 + 5 = 1,953 UNC - 1,914 + 12 = 1,926 Kansas - 1,906 + 11 = 1,917 This is the least pressing concern of the current state of the program.
  15. Do people still think Oregon is good? They're awful...they've clearly been overrated all year, them and Arkansas were obviously frauds.
  16. QUOTE(whitesoxfan99 @ Dec 22, 2007 -> 01:14 AM) Well based on this decision it would appear he is distancing himself from his mom who clearly wanted him at ND. For sure...I just hope it stays that way.
  17. QUOTE(maggsmaggs @ Dec 21, 2007 -> 11:50 PM) Legion to Illinois!!! http://msn.foxsports.com/cbk/story/7593740 Great get, although is won't help this year, but next year, Illinois should be a NCAA team once again, especially in a bad Big ten. IMO, this year should be all about developing Tisdale and Davis. There is no way Illinois is a tourney team and I am sure Bruce knows it. They can play very well, but they just don't have the offense to make it. Tisdale and Davis should get big minutes to help for next year. Legit pick up...good luck with his mom, seriously...I hope she doesn't do anything that completely ruins his career for him, although she said she's staying in Lexington to continue to work on her awesome ministry of prophecy. Weber needs a guy like this, definitely a player he can work with.
  18. QUOTE(whitesoxfan101 @ Dec 21, 2007 -> 06:46 PM) Just a thought here. Last year, Illinois was coming off a 2-10 season, and a lot of people said their #20 recruiting class in the nation had to be at least somewhat a byproduct of cheating. This year, Notre Dame goes 3-9, has the consensus #1 recruiting class in the nation, and nobody says a word. I know it's different situations, but still a sign of typical media hypocrisy. Oh, and one of the Kentucky beat writers says Legion to Illinois is official. We'll see if/when this is confirmed by the school, but I'm not surprised, he'll have a chance to play 40 minutes a game in Champaign. Legion is probably headed to Illinois...however, it's Jerry Tipton, he's wrong more often than not, and he's a terrible writer in general. Just a heads up, ha.
  19. QUOTE(hitlesswonder @ Dec 21, 2007 -> 11:06 AM) Well, Gordon was the only recruit Weber has had on a par with Richmond and he did have trouble keeping him. It's not like the rest of Weber's recruits were 5 stars everyone wanted. But I wasn't appealing to past history, but rather what I think is an obvious future. I don't see why the 09-10 recruits would be less likely to come to Illinois if Weber were replaced, I think it might actually make the program more appealing. As you say, only time will tell. If I can switch to a more interesting subject --are you surprised at McCamey's play so far? I didn't see him play before now, and I get the impression you did. I don't want this to sound like I'm ripping on him (he's a freshman), but he doesn't seem very quick. Do you think he can be a quality point guard in the Big Ten eventually? I was hoping that Illinois would have a guard that could penetrate finally, but it's possible that that's not all on McCamey -- it seems like the UI motion offense doesn't lend itself to that. Because players rarely commit just to the school...it's so much more about the coaches now rather than the actual school itself. For obvious reasons. Not that you're asking me, but McCamey is definitely slower than most point guards, but being as big and as physical as he is can make up for it...makes drawing contact a lot easier. I have a feeling he'll be splitting time between the 1 and 2 for that reason, but having a solid ball handler on the wing and a guy with that size is always a plus.
  20. QUOTE(Palehosefan @ Dec 19, 2007 -> 10:10 AM) Looks like Gillespie might be UK's version of Doherty. Can't even imagine how bad they would be if they didn't get Patterson later in the signing period. Are you one of those moron Kentucky fans too? People act like what he did at UTEP and A&M was pure luck. Saying this is Kentucky's version of Doherty is laughable.
  21. QUOTE(Buehrle>Wood @ Dec 18, 2007 -> 10:21 PM) qbuk, did you by chance used to post on the ESPN boards? Never have actually...I post on a Kentucky board, but not the ESPN one.
  22. QUOTE(Buehrle>Wood @ Dec 18, 2007 -> 09:57 PM) UK has lost to more CUSA teams this year than Memphis has the past two seasons. Awesome, but this isn't quite the same team as Memphis. This is the worst Kentucky team in 17 years.
  23. QUOTE(Buehrle>Wood @ Dec 18, 2007 -> 09:18 PM) UK is really bad. Missing Patterson is pretty much catastrophic for this team.
  24. QUOTE(Felix @ Dec 15, 2007 -> 03:46 PM) blah blah blah, you don't see Tubby blaming Dan Monson and Jim Molinari for this years Gopher team. And sure, you'll say something about how our schedule is much easier than Kentucky's, but we had a similar schedule last year and we were abysmal. Tubby is a good coach, I have no doubt about that. I haven't said anything about Minnesota and I wasn't planning on it, but if you haven't watched Kentucky this year without Jasper and Meeks, he left them with nothing. It's pathetic. Tubby brought in some horrible players for Kentucky and that will have an impact, I don't care what anyone says about me just blaming everything on Tubby, but if you pretend that they suck for other reasons besides talent I don't know what to tell you.
